  • Patent number: 4205106
Abstract: A light weight door for a caravan is made as a sandwich from two panels with an infilling of a wooden frame consisting of rails and stiles which are not jointed together, and with blocks of expanded polystyrene filling the spaces between the rails and stiles, these blocks being initially thicker than that of the wooden frame parts, and all of the parts being bonded together so that the blocks become compressed. The bonding makes the door concave convex at the latch edge but planar at the hinge edge. The door has rounded corners.

  • Patent number: 4204100
Abstract: An anti-theft device for a vehicle that is movably mounted on wheel carriers, for securing the vehicle against theft of wheels and against unauthorized towing, which comprises an alarm switch and an actuating member, one of which is mounted in a fixed position relative to the vehicle, and the other of which is mounted to move with one of the wheel carriers. The actuating member is arranged to actuate the switch, and has sufficient lost motion relative to the switch to accommodate normal relative movement of the vehicle and the wheel carrier during travel of the vehicle. The switch is actuated by relative motion of the switch and actuating member in excess of lost motion when the vehicle is raised for towing or for removal of a wheel.

  • Patent number: 4192643
Abstract: A rotary tubular kiln and a preheater for material supplied to the kiln are connected by a duct leading from one end of the kiln, for conducting waste gases from the kiln to the preheater. A bypass conduit is connected to said duct for diverting part of said waste gases and extends from the duct in such a direction as to divert a stream of waste gases at an angle of at least 90.degree. to the stream of gases flowing through the duct. An upright mixing chamber is connected at its bottom to said bypass conduit to cause said diverted stream of gases to flow upward through said mixing chamber. The mixing chamber has in its lower portion at least one lateral inlet for introducing cooling air into said diverted stream of gases, and the distance between the axis of said duct and a point on the axis of said mixing chamber at the level of said inlet is from 1.5 to 3 times the square root of the quotient of the cross-sectional area of the duct divided by pi.

  • Patent number: 4175477
Abstract: A plate type punching machine in which sheets of paper supplied to the machine are transferred intermittently while held by sheet holding pawls on endless chain belts. Upon reaching the punching die, each sheet is formed with cut lines. This sheet is placed on a board and the cut sections are removed by remover bars in remover bar frames arranged movable vertically on both upper and lower sides of the board. The board is supported by a support which is carried by a mount such that the support is movable out of or into one side of a machine frame. The end on one side of the mount is pivotally secured to the machine frame by pins so that the mount is pivotable up and down about the pins. The other side end of the mount is pivotally joined to rods whose other ends are joined to eccentric shafts connected to a bevel gear. The bevel gear is meshed with another bevel gear secured to an end of a shaft which has provided at its other end a handle.
