  • Patent number: 7162413
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing summaries of documents belonging to a class of documents in a classified document collection. A sample set of documents belonging to one or more classes is processed via a machine learning system in order to induce a set of rules associated with the sample set of documents. The vocabulary in the rules are extracted and compared to words, terms or phrases of an incoming document. Any matches between the extracted rules and the words, terms or phrases of the incoming document are used as a summary for the incoming document. By using the method and apparatus, each document does not have to be processed to find most important words and the like in order to provide a summary for that document and then repeating the same process for additional documents.

  • Patent number: 7108651
Abstract: In a centrifugal chamber 9, an elastic rotation shaft 30 and a high-rigidity rotation shaft 34 extend coaxially. When a rotor selected from an angle rotor 17 and a swing rotor 36 which have different sizes and shapes is set in the centrifugal chamber 9, an optimal shaft is connected automatically to the selected rotor. The angle rotor 17 having a low tendency toward mass eccentricity is supported and rotated by the elastic rotation shaft 30 for high-speed rotation. The swing rotor 34 having a high tendency toward mass eccentricity is supported by the high-rigidity shaft 34 for low-speed rotation. Rotation torque is transmitted to the swing rotor 34 from the elastic rotation shaft.

  • Patent number: 6908697
Abstract: An organic electroluminescence device is described and includes a transparent substrate with a first electrode formed on the top surface of the transparent substrate in a predetermined pattern. The first electrode is transparent. An organic layer includes a hole injecting layer, a hole transporting layer, an emitting layer, and an electron transporting layer. They are sequentially stacked on the top surface of the first electrode. A second electrode is formed on the top surface of the organic layer in a predetermined pattern. The distance from the top surface of the hole transporting layer to the bottom surface of the second electrode ranges from about 350 ? to about 450 ? such that the color purity and brightness of blue light is optimized. Accordingly, the organic electroluminescence device increases the color purity and brightness of blue light, thereby providing an image having excellent picture quality.

  • Patent number: 6834360
Abstract: An on-chip logic analysis (OCLA) system captures data processed by a signal processing logic core embedded in a single-chip-device (SOC) without interrupting operations of the signal processing logic core. The OCLA system includes a data capturing unit embedded in the SOC device to monitor the operations of the signal processing unit and determines whether the operations satisfy predetermined trigger conditions. Once the trigger condition is satisfied, the data capturing unit captures internal data from/to the signal processing unit and transfers to an external host system. The host system controls the operations of the data capturing unit. The host system provides the captured data to an user interface for testing and debugging the operations of the SOC signal processing device.

  • Patent number: 6821259
Abstract: An orthosis device generally includes two limb sections pivotably attached to each other in at least one degree of freedom and adapted for insertion of or attachment to adjacent portions of a limb of a user. Each limb section further includes a four-bar linkage and a spring member adapted to provide an equilibrium-inducing force corresponding to a combined weight of the limb section and the limb inserted therein or attached thereto. The equilibrium-inducing force allows every point in three-dimensional space to be a balanced position, such that a user with muscular abnormalities can move his or her limbs and hold them in place. A pivotable shoulder bracket for attaching the orthosis device to a wheelchair may also be provided. Furthermore, the orthosis device can be adapted to accommodate individuals of varying weight or with varying levels of disability by adjusting the spring member or providing powered actuators and force sensors.
