  • Patent number: 6169412
Abstract: An adjustable tooling pin for a bed-of-nails test fixture used for testing circuit boards (cards) is provided which allows the tooling pin, and thus the card, to be precisely realigned while the card is still mounted in the test fixture. The adjustable tooling pin mechanism comprises a pivot bushing having a channel running from end-to-end into which a slide bar fits. The tooling pin projects from the end of the sliding bar in the z-direction such that a card may be located over the tooling pin. A locking screw fits through an aperture in the sliding bar and the pivot bushing and is threadably engaged into a threaded insert in the test fixture top plate. Hence, the tooling pin, and thus the card, are radially adjustable in the x-y plane by turning the pivot bushing and by sliding the sliding bar along the pivot bushing channel.

  • Patent number: 6157827
Abstract: When receiving voice mail data from a server 11, a terminal 13 or 14 stores the voice mail data in a memory. Subsequently, the data is read, converted to a voice and outputted. Furthermore, when inputting a voice mail during the output of the voice, the terminal 13 or 14 generates a signal including a voice mail data reading position of the memory at the time of input, data of the inputted voice mail and a self terminal identification number as a mail editing signal to transmit the signal to the server 11. When receiving the mail editing signal, the server 11 inserts or attaches and re-accumulates the voice mail data in the mail editing signal to a position indicated by the mail editing signal of a memory region of a memory 15 allocated to a transmitting-end terminal.

  • Patent number: 6143201
Abstract: In the production of a fluorescent material, firstly a particle growth retardant is mixed with a fluorescent raw material and then the mixture is baked, whereupon the baked mixture is washed and dried as an intermediate fluorescent material. Then, the particle growth retardant is removed from the surface of the intermediate fluorescent material and crystal defects are formed in the particle-growth-retardant-free intermediate fluorescent material using a ball mill or an ultrasonic vibrator, etc. Finally, the resulting intermediate fluorescent material is baked again and is then washed and dried as a final fluorescent material. This fluorescent material is particularly useful when used in a scatter electroluminescent panel serving as a back light of a liquid crystal display, which must be very small in thickness and light in weight.

  • Patent number: 6145120
Abstract: Complex declarative programming capabilities are provided through an underlying procedural programming code by functionally providing the selection algorithm of known declarative processing arrangements in explicit conditional constructs in procedural language embodying a rule or rule function statement. This approach simultaneously provides declarative processes easily and simply in a relatively few lines of procedural code while isolating the processing to the rules and objects, themselves, thereby providing reduction in hardware overhead requirements and performance enhancements which will be more fully discussed below. Further, by providing for updating of attributes and relationships of objects together with time tags associated with the update and removal of objects from list for evaluation, imprecise evaluation and heuristic reasoning may be readily developed while providing further performance enhancements to known Lazy Evaluation procedures.

  • Patent number: 6139518
Abstract: A power assisted liposuction/lipoinjection handpiece includes a handle (12) which provides power to reciprocate a cannula (10) back and forth during surgery The cannula (10) can be connected to the handle (12) by a connector (24) that is affixed to, integrally formed with, or selectively joinable to a reciprocating member (14). Benefits in sterilization, distribution and surgical use can be realized when the cannula (10) and connector (24) are joined together, such that the surgeon merely needs to remove the cannula (10) from the package and connect it to a reciprocating member of a powered handle (12). The handle (12) may be configured such that the reciprocating member (14) is selectively detachable; thereby, allowing the handle (12) to be used for additional surgical procedures such as sawing or drilling. A vacuum hose (26) is connected to the cannula (10) such that vacuum pressure can be exerted through the cannula (10) for aspirating severed fat tissue.

  • Patent number: 6141325
Abstract: The invention provides a method for improving network routing calculations for routing data packets or connections between two points in a network through many incompatible sub-networks. Each node in the network comprises a plurality of agents, written in migrating executable code, which represent each sub-network or domain in the overall network. Hence, an originating node wishing to send data over the network need not concern itself with the topology of the links or communicate directly with other sub-networks. Instead, the originating node can calculate a path through the network locally, simply by querying its agents. Hence, this paradigm is based on an object-oriented design, in which the network controller (NC) at one node does not attempt to interpret topological data of a different node or sub-network. Instead, a network controller at the originating node activates the agents which represent the other sub-networks, and queries the agents (a black-box approach).

  • Patent number: 6137299
Abstract: Formation of a contact probe having a pattern of dendritic textured contacts complementary to that of a contact pad array on a bare chip allows formation of simultaneous temporary connections to all contact pads of the bare chip at a much reduced compressional force across the chip. The reliability of such connections at such a reduced force allows screening, burn-in and full functional testing of the bare chip at a high throughput by an automated apparatus to exploit potential economies of "known good die" (KGD) processing for limiting or avoiding repair, rework and further processing of less than fully functional chips for complex electronic packages. The compressional force is sensed by a pressure sensor, the output of which controls the advancement of the bare chip toward the contact probe such that the dendritic textured contacts of the contact probe penetrate the contact pads of the bare chip.
