  • Patent number: 6286277
Abstract: A sliding panel system whose sliding panel elements are aligned in a row next to each other when the sliding panel is closed and are positioned orthogonally in relation to the sliding panel when it is in its parked position. The individual sliding panel elements are guided on a first rail arrangement, a curved or bent rail section being adjacent to said slide rail in the transitional area leading to the parked position. The invention is characterized in that the slide rail has a curved or bent rail section in the transitional area leading to the parked position itself. When a point is switched immediately, said rail section opens up onto a parking rail running orthogonally or at an angle to the slide rail. The free end of the parking rail is configured so that it extends into the area of the sliding panel.

  • Patent number: 6286258
Abstract: A movable wall has a plurality of movable wall elements mounted in horizontally oriented guide rails. The guide rail which defines the path of the movable wall elements from the parked position into the closed position is laid out in a 90 degree curve in the vicinity of a room opening to be closed so that it brings the closed movable wall elements into alignment. The final movable wall element in the direction of the closing motion is mounted on support and guidance elements. At least the rear support and guidance element of the final wall element in the direction of the closing motion, is mounted on the final movable wall element so that the rear support and guidance element can be moved along the final movable wall element. This rear support and guidance element also has its own drive unit, by which drive unit, during the closing process, the final movable wall element is automatically moved into the closed position in which it is flush with the other movable wall elements.

  • Patent number: 6266922
Abstract: A revolving door with a ceiling drive beam that is integrated into the ceiling construction, whereby the ceiling construction consists of two circular segments. The ceiling drive beam is located between the segments and is continuous over the inside diameter of the face band and is connected on the face side to the face band. The result is a component that braces and stiffens the ceiling construction, so that other elements of the ceiling construction, such as the struts that support the face band, can be realized lighter in weight and can be manufactured more economically. When the ceiling drive beam is adapted to accommodate face bands of different diameters, all that is necessary is an elongation of the ceiling drive beam on the end, while retaining its cross section.

  • Patent number: 6268594
Abstract: A multipane insulating glass for appliances having an inner-chamber temperature which is lower than the ambient temperature, in particular for viewing doors of refrigerators and freezers comprises at least two panes which are of approximately equal size and are arranged at a distance from one another. The distance is maintained by a spacer which runs continuously around the vicinity of the edge. One of the two outer panes is provided with an electrically conductive, transparent coating on its side which faces towards the space between the panes. In this glass, the coating, which is applied to the entire surface, is deactivated in the peripheral area of the pane, containing the contact surface for the spacer. • Patent number: 6267438
Abstract: A pillar, in particular a B-pillar, for a vehicle body, in particular a passenger car body, comprises a hat profile beam that has its crown towards the interior of the body. A lower hat profile beam has its own crown located within the crown of the beam and the flanges of the two beams are spot welded together. The hinges of the rear door are fixed to the beam. The front edge of the rear door swings into the crown of the beam when the door is opened. Thus, the beam has a high crown and utilizes the available space efficiently.

  • Patent number: 6244743
Abstract: A measuring technique and method are provided to simultaneously determine the molecular density of several molecular species and the temperature within a closed process room in a melting or combustion process. In such processes in the industry, e.g. in metallurgic process industry, it is important to determine the temperature and the contents within the gas or flame without physically connect to or disturb the process. This has shown to raise large problems especially at high temperatures. The radio signal over a frequency band is measured on the outside of the process room through a window in the mantel covering as a function of frequency and registered on a computer as a radio spectrum. The system is calibrated by using a known signal transmitted through the process room. The spectral lines are identified by their frequency from a database. The temperature is determined from several lines of the same molecular specie and the molecular densities are determined from the intensities of the lines.

  • Patent number: 6231276
Abstract: In addition to having a stop member in the form of a hollow cylinder which is slotted and can be spread by means of an adjustment screw, an adjustable stop for a cutter adjustably arranged in a main casting or body of a tool is also provided with a sleeve member which can be inserted into a longitudinal bore of the stop member. The sleeve member has inside threads which can be brought into engagement with the adjustment screw. This results in an improvement of the load carrying capacity of the threaded connection. Since the sleeve member can move in the adjustment direction, the bending load on the adjustment screw is reduced.
