Abstract: A cell of a flat plate solid oxide fuel cell has a first electrode member of porous material having pores through which all of a fuel gas or air passes. An electrolyte film is on either a front or a back surface of the first electrode member. A second electrode member is on the electrolyte film and a separator film is on the other surface of the first electrode member. The first electrode member is either a fuel electrode or an air electrode and the second electrode member is the other. Part of the electrolyte film and/or part of the separator film form seal portions which cover side surfaces between the electrolyte film and the separator film and function as gas seal films.

Abstract: A tubular net arrangement is made by placing a tubular net on a transfer tube and inserting a support tube coaxially inside the transfer tube. The support tube has a support tube diameter that is smaller than the transfer tube diameter. The tubular net is then moved off the transfer tube and past the end of the transfer tube to fold the tubular net onto the support tube in the form of multiple successive concentric layers. The transfer tube then moves relative to the support tube to expose the support tube as the layers are formed on the support tube. The inner diameter of each layer is adjacent the support tube and is equal to the support tube diameter and the outer diameter of each layer is spaced away from the support tube and is greater than the support tube diameter and at most equal to the transfer tube diameter.
Abstract: The invention concerns a system (1) to locate or track objects (2) that can be positioned on the work table (3) of a laboratory apparatus (4).
Abstract: A device for producing meat products by stuffing meat mass in a double casing made up of a film and a net, has a stuffing tube with a diameter, a mechanism for passing the meat mass through the stuffing tube and into the double casing and a mechanism for shaping the film into a cylinder that is adapted to the diameter of the stuffing tube, the shaping mechanism forming longitudinal folds for allowing radial expansion of the cylinder when the cylinder is fed with meat mass through the stuffing tube by unfolding the folds.
Abstract: An interface including a substrate of biocompatible material such as titanium, tantalum or their alloys having, on the surface of the substrate, a first layer having a first concentration of oxide of the biocompatible material, enriched with a second concentration of phosphorus and with a third concentration of calcium, the ratio between the concentration of calcium and the concentration of phosphorus being greater than two. The interface also includes a second layer having a first surface in contact with the first layer and a second surface. The second layer has a fourth concentration of oxide enriched with a fifth concentration of calcium and a sixth concentration of phosphorus. The fourth concentration is less than the fifth and sixth concentrations and the ratio between the fifth concentration of calcium and the sixth concentration of phosphorus is no less than three.
Abstract: An acoustic generator of pressure pulsations includes a cylindrical waveguide which is caused to vibrate at a low amplitude by an electromechanical transducer. The vibration of the cylindrical waveguide creates low amplitude pressure pulsations in an acoustic chamber containing stationary pressure fluid. A mechanical amplifier, which is part of the acoustic chamber, amplifies the low amplitude pressure pulsations generated by the cylindrical waveguide.
Abstract: An adaptive scanning optical microscope has a scanner lens assembly for acquiring images from different parts of an object plane and for forming a preferably curved image field having at least some aberration which varies as a function of the part of the object plane from which the image is acquired. A steering mirror selects the field of view and steers light from the object and along a light path from the object plane to a final image plane. An adaptive optics element receives the steered light from the object and compensates for the field position dependent optical aberrations and additional optics are along at least part of the light path for conditioning and focusing the light as it moves from the steering mirror, past the adaptive optics element and to the final image plane.

Abstract: For evaluation of a measured parameter with a measuring cell having a cavity which generates for light an optical path length difference changing corresponding to the variation of the measured parameter, the method includes: introducing light from a white light source with the aid of an optical waveguide via a coupler (3) disposed in the path of the optical waveguide into the cavity, coupling out at least a portion of the light reflected back into the optical waveguide from the cavity with the aid of the coupler and conducting this reflected light to an optical spectrometer, determining the optical spectrum of the reflected light in the spectrometer and generating a spectrometer signal, conducting the spectrometer signal to a computing unit, wherein the spectrometer signal is directly converted through the computing unit to an interferogram and from its intensity progression the location of the particular extremal amplitude value is determined and this particular location represents directly the particular va
Abstract: A device for aspirating and dispensing liquid samples comprising a pump that comprises a cylindrical chamber, a piston movable in this cylindrical chamber, and a piston drive that engages the piston. The device further comprises a tip connected to the cylindrical chamber with a line, and a channel system that discharges into the cylindrical chamber for flushing or rinsing the latter. The device is characterized in that the piston entirely seals this cylindrical chamber from the channel system, if the piston is positioned in the cylindrical chamber in such a way that a free piston end comes to rest between the channel system and the line. Preferably, the cylindrical chamber is located in a cylinder block, which comprises two parts that are separated by and enclosing an intermediate channel system. The channel system most preferably is implemented as a coherent cavity. According to a first embodiment, the cylindrical chamber is implemented as a sleeve that is inserted in a boring located in a cylinder block.
Abstract: To provide an original cover closer and an office equipment in which a position adjustment and positioning of an original cover can be performed easily, and a downsizing can be realized, the original cover closer which supports the original cover relative to an equipment main body of the office equipment openably/closably, includes: a position adjusting means adjusting a parallel position of the original cover relative to the equipment main body at a closer main body of the original cover closer, and an operation portion of the position adjusting means is constituted so as to be operatable from a lateral side of the closer main body.
Abstract: A backpack has a generally rigid support having a front face and a back face, shoulder straps attached to the support for holding same against a back of a user, and structure on the back face for holding an object. A pressurizable and flexible bladder covers generally all of the front face of the support and has a closable fill opening. This bladder is secured to the front face of the support with the fill opening accessible.

Abstract: A pressure measuring cell has a first housing body and a membrane arranged proximate the housing body, both of ceramic. The membrane has a peripheral edge joined to the first housing body to create a reference pressure chamber. A second housing body made of ceramic material is opposite the membrane and is joined to the peripheral edge of the membrane, the second housing body together with the membrane forming a measurement pressure chamber. The second housing body has a port for connecting the pressure measuring cell to a medium to be measured. The first housing body, the second housing body and the membrane are tightly connected along the peripheral edge of the membrane in a central area of the first housing body a hole is formed, reaching through the first housing body and at least in the central region of the membrane and opposite the hole a surface of the membrane is formed as a first optically reflective area.

Abstract: An EIT system includes a plurality of voltage sources for supplying a corresponding plurality of voltages to a corresponding number of other structures, voltage source calibration means for calibrating each voltage source, and switching means for individually connecting the calibration means to each voltage source in succession during a period when each other structure is in an inactive condition. Calibrating respective voltages and currents for each voltage source compensates for shunt impedance of each voltage source. A method for calibrating the system includes individually connecting the calibration means to each voltage source in succession during a period when each other structure is in an inactive condition for calibrating all of said voltage sources in the same way.
