Abstract: Provided is a printer which accelerates the printing speed of a printer without having to make the processing wait even when a printer corresponding to various types of printer language receives print job data in a printer language other than the same currently under processing. The present invention is a printer which prints by loading into a memory an Interpreter Program corresponding to a printer language, generating image data from the print job data and loading such image data into the memory pursuant to the execution of the interpreter program, and supplying this to the print engine. When job data in a language different from the one currently under processing is received, a new interpreter program is loaded into the memory before the image data currently under processing is completely supplied.
Abstract: A flow sensor and a flow rate measuring method are disclosed, in which an error caused by dust attached to the flow sensor is accurately corrected taking advantage of the fact that the output characteristic of the flow sensor representing the relation between the temperature measured by a temperature measuring unit and the flow rate of the fluid undergoes a change with the dust attached. The flow sensor includes a thin-film bridge unit formed on a substrate, a heater arranged on the bridge unit, and a temperature measuring unit arranged on the bridge unit.
Abstract: A method for simulating the drilling performance of a roller cone bit drilling an earth formation may be used to generate a visual representation of drilling, to design roller cone drill bits, and to optimize the drilling performance of a roller cone bit. The method for generating a visual representation of a roller cone bit drilling earth formations includes selecting bit design parameters, selecting drilling parameters, and selecting an earth formation to be drilled. The method further includes calculating, from the bit design parameters, drilling parameters and earth formation, parameters of a crater formed when one of a plurality of cutting elements contacts the earth formation. The method further includes calculating a bottomhole geometry, wherein the crater is removed from a bottomhole surface.
Abstract: A propagation measuring apparatus for measuring propagation characteristics of an object to be measured includes a first light source for outputting a first optical signal of a first frequency, a second light source for outputting a second optical signal of a second frequency, a terahertz light outputting unit for generating terahertz light of a frequency, which is equal to a difference between the first and second frequencies, by using the first and second optical signals and radiating the terahertz light to the object to be measured, a first detecting unit for detecting the terahertz light passing through the object to be measured and a measuring unit for measuring the propagation characteristics of the object to be measured based on the terahertz light detected by the first detecting unit.
Abstract: A vehicular lamp used in a vehicle, includes: a light source for emitting light in accordance with a voltage given thereto; a light-source controlling transistor for controlling power supplied to the light source by repeatedly switching whether or not the power is supplied to the light source; a capacitor having one end grounded and another end at which a potential is changed like a saw-tooth by charging and discharging of the capacitor; a capacitor controlling transistor for controlling a timing at which the charging and discharging of the capacitor is switched; and a comparator for comparing the potential at the other end of the capacitor to a reference voltage given thereto and controlling a timing at which the light-source controlling transistor is turned on or off and a timing at which the capacitor controlling transistor is turned on or off in synchronization with each other based on the comparison result.
Abstract: A SSTL memory interface pre-driver stage that uses a voltage regulator to generate a ‘virtual’ ground reference voltage is provided. The ‘virtual’ ground voltage reference, being greater than a zero volt ground voltage, allows low voltage transistors to be used, thereby improving interface performance and decreasing system power consumption. The pre-driver stage uses a biasing circuit to bias the voltage regulator, formed by a transistor arranged in a source follower configuration, to generate the ‘virtual’ ground reference voltage off which a voltage translator stage of the pre-driver stage operates to generate an output of the pre-driver stage.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes one or more pistons (3) connected to a common crankshaft (4), a balancer shaft (10) connected to the crankshaft (4) to be rotated thereby at the same speed as the crankshaft (4) but in the opposite sense, the balancer shaft (10) carrying mutually offset eccentric weights (14) at its ends and an integrated starter generator unit (26) including a stator (27) and a rotor (23). The rotor (23) is mounted to rotate about the axis of the balancer shaft (10) and is connected to the balancer shaft (10) by step up gearing (18, 20, 22) such that the rotor (23) rotates in the same sense as the balancer shaft (10) but at a substantially greater speed.
Abstract: A height adjusting mechanism for a tape guide pin has a tape guide arm, a plate spring member, and a height adjusting screw. The tape guide arm is supported by a VCR chassis in a swingable and vertically movable manner, and the tape guide pin is attached to one end of the arm. In the plate spring member, one end is fixed to the VCR chassis, the other end is a free end, and the upper face of the free end butts against the lower face of the tape guide arm. The height adjusting screw is screwed with the free end of the plate spring member, and the tip end of the screw is pressingly contacted with the VCR chassis by the elastic force of the plate spring member, and a head portion of the screw vertically overlaps with the other end of the tape guide arm.
Abstract: A method of testing a graphical user interface includes selecting a widget of the graphical user interface, associating an access mode with the widget, generating a mode-specific input message based on the widget and the access mode, sending the mode-specific input message to the graphical user interface, detecting a mode-specific response from the graphical user interface using a detection tool, and evaluating the graphical user interface based on the mode-specific response.
Abstract: A method for generating P-S or S-S seismic data from P-P AVO data in P-P travel time for a geographic area includes obtaining a plurality of amplitude and angle of incidence pairs of P-P AVO data. The plurality of amplitude and angle of incidence pairs of P-P AVO data are inverted. Lastly, estimates of the rock property contrasts are produced from the inverted plurality of amplitude and angle of incidence pairs of P-P AVO data, the rock property contrasts including at least one of ?Vp/Vp, ?Vs/Vs and ??/?.
Abstract: A rib, provided on an outer periphery of a projection ring, includes: a first rib extending along a direction in which an optical axis of a lens main body extends (an attachment direction of a focus lens); and a second rib, brought into contact with one end of first rib, extending along a direction approximately orthogonal to first rib so as to have one side and the other side. On the other hand, a protrusion, provided on an inner periphery of the cylindrical focus ring, includes a pair of protrusion parts arranged with a spacing in a direction in which an optical axis extends. With this structure, it is possible to obtain a projector having a focus ring capable of being easily attached to a lens main body and being easily molded.
Abstract: A method for reducing a magnitude of a rate of current change of an integrated circuit is provided. The method uses a plurality of transistors controlled by a finite state machine, such as a counter, to gradually reduce current sourced from a power supply. Further, the finite state machine is controlled by a micro-architectural stage that determines when the integrated circuit needs to be powered down.
