A plurality of first reflecting units 10 and a plurality of second reflecting units 11 are provided together. In this case, a reflecting plane 11a of the second reflecting unit 11 is set to be smaller in diameter and have smaller difference in in-plane height than those of a reflecting plane 10a of the first reflecting unit 10, and an arrangement interval between the second reflecting units 11 is set to be greater than that between the first reflecting units 10.
Abstract: An electrically driven power steering apparatus is structured such that a large impact on a rack shaft (22) occurs upon an impingement of a steering stopper, and, even when an axial force acting on a ball bearing (25) of a presser member (30) becomes zero, a rotation of the presser member (30) is hindered by caulking c at a thin plate member (30b). Therefore, the presser member (30) does not slacken, and a predetermined axial force can be given again to the ball bearing (25) when the impact dissipates. The thus structured power steering apparatus exhibiting, though the cost is low, an excellent shockproof characteristic and capable of preventing the bearing from coming off a ball screw nut, can be provided.
Abstract: In a wire connector, when a manipulation button 40 is pushed into a casing 10, a manipulation portion 43 of the manipulation button 40 pushes down one side of a leaf spring 30, whereas by pressing and locking an upper surface of the manipulation button 40 to a corner portion 11 of the casing 10 due to a reaction of the leaf spring 30. Accordingly, it is possible to provide the small wire connector which is simple in structure, high in reliability of contact, and easy in assembly and connecting operation.

Abstract: A random access memory includes a first memory bank, a second memory bank, an error checking circuit operatively connected to receive data read from the first memory bank, and a multiplexer operatively connected to input data read from both the first memory bank and the second memory bank, wherein input selection of the multiplexer is controlled by an output of the error checking circuit. A method for reducing errors in a memory system includes writing data into first and second memory banks of the memory system in parallel, reading data from a desired location of the first memory bank, checking the data read from the first memory bank for errors, if no errors are present, outputting the data read from the first memory bank to a bus, and if the data read from the first memory bank contains errors, outputting data read from a parallel location in the second memory bank to the bus.

Abstract: The invention concerns a microcontroller (30) intended to be incorporated in a portable object (1) of type smartcard, including at least: a contact stud (VCC) to supply the said microcontroller (30) with current; a data input and/or output contact stud (I/O); an efficient data processing part (?CE); and confidential information. According to the invention, the microcontroller also includes: means (GEN, CAP, COM) to vary the supply voltage of the efficient data processing part (?CE), the said means being able to secure the said confidential data against current attacks.
Abstract: A memory device testing apparatus transfers at high speed a fail signal from a failure analysis memory unit 100 to a memory failure remedy analysis unit 200. The failure analysis memory unit 100 has a data storage memory 110 and a compact memory 120. The data storage memory 110 is divided into at least two sub address spaces. The divided sub address spaces are assigned to the addresses in the compact memory 120. An address generation control unit reads data stored in the compact memory 120. An address generation unit 132 generates a memory address signal 143 based on a sub address signal 141 and a detail address signal 142. The detail address signal 142 is incremented by the address generation control unit 125. The data in the sub address space storing the fail signal is transferred to the memory failure remedy analysis unit 200. If the data read from the compact memory 120 does not contain failure information, the data stored in the corresponding sub address space is not transferred.
