Abstract: A system and device for providing secondary combustion for regeneration of catalyst in a catalytic converter (24) and/or for regeneration of a particulate trap (21) is provided. The secondary combustion takes place in the exducer chamber (13) of a turbine of a turbocharger (2), and generates heat for bringing a catalyst up to peak oxidation or reduction temperature, for regeneration of a catalyst, and incineration of particulates in a trap. The system takes advantage of heat and turbulence in the exducer chamber for promoting fuel/air mixture and for simplifying the amount of parts needed to incorporate a secondary combustion means into a turbocharger equipped primary combustion system (1).
Abstract: A method for applying a topical anesthetic to an area of skin comprising the steps of a) incorporating an anesthetic in a lipophilic base into a volatile solvent, to form a homogeneous solution; b) applying the homogeneous solution into the area of skin to be treated; and c) evaporating the volatile solvent from the homogeneous solution; wherein the volatile solvent is present in the formulation in amounts between 40-80%; and wherein said topical anesthetic rapidly penetrates the skin surface at said skin, leaving a cooling sensation on the skin. The topical anesthetic formulation contains a penetrating enhancer carrier that markedly enhances the delivery of the anesthetic across human skin without altering the acceptable delivery rate of the anesthetic that needs to be delivered through the skin and leaves a cooling sensation on the skin.
Abstract: A charged internal combustion engine (1) having at least one stage of charging by a turbocharger (3), in which at least one supplemental compressor (4) is connected parallel to or in series with the turbocharger, and in which the supplemental compressor (4) has a drive independent from the working medium cycle of the internal combustion engine.

Abstract: The invention concerns a process for improving the view in vehicles, in particular at night, poor weather and fog, in which laser light is emitted at a wavelength outside the visible spectrum in a predetermined angular range, which is being observed with a camera, of which the images are provided to the vehicle operator. The laser light is emitted essentially continuously only when the headlights of the vehicle are in operation and/or when the vehicle is in motion. In this manner the vision of other traffic participants is ensured in a particularly simple manner.
Abstract: A process for designing a cable wiring path, or producing a cable interconnection layout in the form of one or more cable bundles is proposed, wherein electrical, electromagnetic and mechanical incompatibles of proposed changes can be detected early and overcome as necessary, in certain cases by multiple iterative checking and changing of transmission line paths within a mechanical structure. By data exchange between specialized programs for mechanical characteristics on the one hand and electrical characteristics on the other hand and, in certain cases, multiple data dialogs, a cable harness in the form of one or more cable bundles can be designed in short time taking into consideration the two very different types of requirements.
Abstract: The invention concerns a very high-speed machining machine-tool (M) consisting of a parallel structure including link bars (100) whereof one first end (110) is linked to a mobile member (200) supporting at least a tool and whereof the second end (120) is linked to at least means (300) setting it in motion relative to a frame (B). The said machine-tool is characterized in that the linkages (400) to the ends (100 [sic, should be 110. -Translation Editor) and 120) of the said bars (100) consist in an association of fictitious pivots (410, 420, 430) so as to form a joint whereof the degrees of freedom enable the parallel structure to be set in motion. The said feature enables to avoid all drawbacks related to ball linkages. The invention is applicable to high-speed machining.
Abstract: The invention concerns a system for assisting an operator of a technical appliance, with a image display device (2), of which the image is in the normal field of vision of the operator, for display of operationally relevant information in the form of images or symbols (1). According to the invention, a respective image or symbol is displayed at least once for a brief period of time, of which the duration is below the threshold of conscious recognition and above the threshold of subconscious recognition of the operator.

Abstract: The process in accordance with the invention for producing a three-dimensional surface structure in a paper poster or paper photograph is used especially for the plastic reproduction of paintings. A paper poster or paper photograph is thereby placed face down onto a structured matrix and fixed, the paper poster or paper photograph being equal in size to or smaller than the matrix. A canvas is then adhered onto the back surface of the poster or photograph and the resulting stack of layers cold pressed. After the pressing, the structured laminate of paper poster or paper photograph and adhered canvas is then removed from the matrix, mounted under tension onto a frame, and sealed. In the preferred embodiment, the matrix is an imprint of the original painting and the paper poster is a print of the original painting in the original size.
Abstract: A spool for a roll dispenser having a hub, an empty sapce between the hub and the roll, and a flat plate attached to one of the sides of the hub. The roll has a triangular or rectangular core.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for breeding of insects for therapeutic application of secretions of fly larvae (maggots) on a wound. The device includes an application container for receiving the fly eggs. The fly larvae from the egg stage up to the maggot stage is develop inside the application container and the maggots are grown until they secrete a therapeutically active secretion. The application container is maintain under development conditions influenced in a controlled manner which retard the further development of the eggs for storage. The application container includes fluid transmissive walls that allow the passing of secretions produced by the maggot through the walls of the application container into the wound but prevents passage of the maggots enclosed in the application container. In addition, the device of the present invention includes an incubation container to maintain the eggs in controlled incubating conditions.
Abstract: This procedure consists in the first stage, of the administration of enough quantity of bisphosphonate preparation during the necessary period of time to acquire a degree of volumetric mineral density of the cortical tissue of application, within the normal range (average IDS). Then the administration of the bisphosphonate preparation is interruption in order to enable the development of the sectional momentum of inertia. The length of the second stage can be determined by means of a tomography. That is to say, that the periods of administration or non-administration of the mineralizing agent are defined or controlled by precise osteologic variables and therefore are not fixed. If during the second stage the cortical mineral density drops by 6-10% of the maximum value previously obtained, administration of bisphosphonate preparation should be resumed until the corresponding maximum adjusted value is reached again.

Abstract: As air passes through the airflow channels (46) between the blades (10) of a compressor impeller, boundary layers build up on the blade (10) surfaces. These low momentum masses of air are considered a blockage and loss generators. Ultimately, the boundary layer on the suction side of the blade (20) will separate, causing stall and reversed flow. Reversed flow will occur until a stable pressure ratio with positive volume flow rate is reached. When the pressure ratio becomes unstable again, the cycle will repeat. Introducing a slit (12) or a series of perforations (28) on the compressor wheel blade (10) allows the air to communicate between the pressure side (18) and the suction side (20) of the blade, which allows the boundary layer to stay attached longer.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for producing body components (48) being provided with an acoustically-effective silencing material layer (44). The aim of the invention is to enable fully automatic packaging making use of the silencing material layer (44). The over layer consists of moisture-impermeable material. The thus pre-packed body component (48) can be randomly transported, intermediately stored and/or supplied for further processing under exposure to air. Curing of the silencing material (44) is only carried out in a subsequent procedure step, for example in an enameling oven.
