Abstract: A servo circuit for controlling an actuator provided on an optical pickup of a disc reproducing apparatus, the optical pickup optically reading out an information signal recorded on a disc is comprised of a phase compensating unit including a first phase compensator circuit whose gain characteristic and phase characteristic are set to first characteristics and a second phase compensator circuit whose gain characteristic and phase characteristic are set to second characteristics, the first and second phase compensator circuits being selectively coupled, a detecting circuit for detecting an oscillation of the actuator, and a switching circuit for switching the first and second phase compensator circuits from one to the other on the basis of an output from the detecting circuit.
Abstract: A portable disc player has a casing. In the casing, there are enclosed: disc rotation driving means for rotating an optical disc; an optical head which is arranged so as to be movable in the radial direction of the optical disc; a signal processing section for executing a predetermined signal process to a signal which has been read out by the optical head; and control means for controlling the operations of the rotation driving means, the optical head, and the signal processing section on the basis of an input from an X-Y device and trigger buttons. A display unit comprising an outer cover on which an LCD display is arranged is rotatably attached to the casing.

Abstract: A transmitting and receiving apparatus suitable for use as a digital cellular type mobile station. The reference reception carrier frequency and the reference transmission carrier frequency are different. Signals are transmitted and received such that an offset frequency of a received signal of an actual reception carrier frequency relative to the reference reception carrier frequency is detected and multiplied with a signal of the reference transmission carrier frequency, and the multiplied output used as the transmitted signal of an actual transmission carrier frequency which follows the actual reception carrier frequency.
Abstract: A plurality of tracks comprising pits each having a diameter smaller than a beam spot diameter of a laser beam are arranged on an optical disc. By irradiating the laser beam onto the optical disc, a plurality of pits are reproduced a lump. The reflected lights from a plurality of pits on the optical disc are supplied to a plural-divided photodetector. Outputs of the plural-divided photodetector are supplied to a matrix circuit and multidimensional vectors are formed. The data recorded on the optical disc is decoded from the multidimensional vectors. A tracking area and a clock area are provided on the optical disc. A tracking control is performed by using a reproduction signal of the tracking area. The clocks are reproduced by using a reproduction signal of the clock area.
Abstract: In a non-interlace display device, addition is performed in the level ratio of 1/4 and 3/4 at one field and in the level ratio of 3/4 and 1/4 at one field, and the display elements common in one field and other field are driven using the addition signal, thereby a good display image can be obtained without trouble due to flicker or pairing.

Abstract: A tracking control circuit of a rotary head type magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus. The tracking control circuit generates sampling pulses of first and second pilot signals for tracking based on a synchronization signal for tracking on a recording track, detects an envelope signal from the reproduction signal reproduced by the magnetic heads which is amplified with a predetermined gain, detects tracking error data from first and second pilot data obtained by sampling the envelope signal with the sampling pulses, detects reproduction level error data, controls the feeding speed of the magnetic tape based on the tracking error data, and controls the amplifying gain of the reproduction signal based on the reproduction level error data. As a result, deviations of reproduction levels of the magnetic heads are effectively corrected, and tracking control of the magnetic heads on the recording tracks is extremely precise.

Abstract: A switching apparatus for an electron device, for controlling movement of an image on a display unit, including a plurality of pushbuttons being provided on upper surfaces with directional symbols which represent upward, downward, leftward, rightward directions and random or non-linear paths of travel in which the image displayed is allowed to move. When the pushbuttons are pressed, control signals are transmitted to a control circuit of the electronic device. The pushbuttons with the symbols indicating the four directions are arranged in a cross form, while the pushbuttons with the symbols indicating random and/or non-linear paths of travel are arranged between the pushbuttons forming the cross arms. Further, the pushbuttons with the directional symbols are arranged around a center pushbutton for stopping movement of the displayed image. The pushbuttons are made of a resilient material and assembled as a single unit.

Abstract: A disc chucking apparatus for use in an automatic disc changer for a disc player includes an arm base 28 which is vertically movable and reversible with respect to a chassis 1, and a disc base 34 fixedly mounted on the arm member. The disc base 34 has a central insert member 34a for being inserted in the central hole of a disc and a disc support surface 34b for abutting engagement with a peripheral edge of the central hole of the disc. A rod 35 extends axially slidably through the central insert member 34a, and a pantographic link mechanism 38 is operatively coupled between the disc base 34 and an end of the rod 35, and collapsible and extensible in response to sliding movement of the rod 35. When the arm base 28 is vertically moved in response to sliding movement of the rod 35, with the presser assembly 38 extended, the central insert member 34a and the presser assembly 38 are inserted into the central hole of the disc.
Abstract: A method for generating data defining a tool path for a numerically controlled machine is designed for generating machining tool path data without establishing offset plane data so that the machining tool path depth data can be established for discontinuous, surfaced, offset planes which might otherwise cause interference in the tool path. The method includes the steps of forming a plurality of patches defining a three-dimensional plane to be machined, subdividing each patch into a predetermined number of segments as divided by a plurality of dividing points, with the number of segments being variable depending upon the distance between adjacent dividing points so that the distance is maintained to be smaller than the machining area of a machine tool. The machining depth at each dividing point within the tool path is derived with respect to the maximum height position at which the machining tool comes into contact with the dividing point.
Abstract: A laser beam generating apparatus which is easy to manufacture and simple in adjusting operation. The laser beam generating apparatus comprises a light source having a narrow active layer for generating pumping laser beam, a laser medium for receiving the pumping laser beam to form a heat lens therein and generate a fundamental wave laser beam, a non-linear optical crystal element having a face inclined with respect to an optical axis of the fundamental wave laser beam for receiving the fundamental wave laser beam to generate secondary harmonic laser beam, a quarter wavelength plate for suppressing coupling between two polarization modes of the fundamental wave laser beam, and a pair of planar reflecting means for reflecting the fundamental wave laser beam back into the laser medium. The laser medium, non-linear optical crystal element, quarter length plate and planar reflecting means cooperate to constitute a light resonator.
Abstract: A timebase corrector is provided, in which an input video signal is written in a timebase error correcting memory on the basis of a clock pulse synchronized with a synchronizing signal in the input video signal and the signal written in the time base error correcting memory is read out on the basis of a read clock pulse synchronized with a reference signal to thereby correct a timebase error. In this timebase corrector, when a drop-out of a first vertical synchronizing signal in the input video signal occurs, the write of the input video signal in the timebase error correcting memory is inhibited, and a timebase error is corrected by the input video signal already written in the memory until a second vertical synchronizing signal is detected.

Abstract: An apparatus for assembling a recording medium having a recording disc and a center core having an adhesive coated area of attachment to the recording disc. The apparatus includes a horizontal base member, a support member rigidly fixed on the base member, and a core support table secured on the base member for carrying the center core placed thereon. The recording disc is placed on the attachment area of the center core placed on the core support table. A pushing tool is supported for vertical movement along the support member toward and away from the core support table. The pushing tool is moved downward to push the recording disc against the attachment area of the center core so as to bond the recording disc on the center core.
Abstract: A recording data formulating system employed in a pre-mastering process in the course of preparation of a pre-recorded optical disc is disclosed, in which the audio information and the video information are converted by a computer 11 into the information conforming to the CD-I data format, and in which the amount of the converted software corresponding to at least the capacity of an optical disc is stored in the memory 13. Abstract: A transmitter having a battery therein and which is driven by a voltage supplied from the battery is comprised of an input key pad having operation keys for inputting transmission data, a data length detecting unit for detecting a length of the input transmission data, a voltage supervisory unit for detecting an output voltage of the battery, a discharge characteristic memory for previously storing a discharge characteristic of the battery, and a calculating unit for calculating data length which can be transmitted on the basis of a voltage value detected by the voltage supervisory unit and discharge characteristic data stored in the discharge characteristic memory, wherein when the data length detected by the data length detecting unit is longer than the data length which can be transmitted, the transmission data is inhibited from being transmitted. Thus, communication can be increased in reliability.
