  • Patent number: 7234082
Abstract: An apparatus of remote server console redirection is described. The apparatus provides multi-managers to control remote server computers simultaneously. The apparatus includes at least one monitoring computer and a console redirection proxy service server (CRPSS). The monitoring computer executes a browser program and assigns a remote server computer to be controlled. The CRPSS determines whether the assigned remote server computer is on monitoring. If the assigned remote server computer is on monitoring, the CRPSS directly sends display images of the assigned remote server computer to the monitoring computer. If the assigned remote server computer is not on monitoring, the CRPSS issues a console redirection command and a reboot command to the assigned remote server computer. Therefore, the display images of the assigned remote server computer are sent to the monitoring computer by way of the CRPSS.

  • Patent number: 7234055
Abstract: A multi-buttons booting system comprises an on-switch button logic unit, an embedded chip (EC) and its RAM, a lookup module, and a loading module. A plurality of on-switch buttons are connected to the EC and corresponds to a plurality of operating systems. In response to the push on a button, the EC outputs a signal that writes an indicator value in the RAM. According to the indicator value, the corresponding MBR is sought and loaded. The loaded MBR then conducts the booting of a corresponding operating system. The system resource occupation is thereby reduced, the activation speed is increased, and the user's manual intervention is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7233081
Abstract: A power-supply device suppresses high harmonic waves, controls the flow of AC power, and minimizes adverse effects on a load that might otherwise be caused by a large surge of current into the load during the startup or stopping of the power-supply device. The power supply device includes a voltage supply unit 2 disposed in series between input and output terminals. This voltage supply unit functions to gradually lower the output-voltage level from a state of canceling the voltage across input terminals of the power supply device at the time of starting up the power-supply device, so that a gradual rise in the output voltage from the power-supply device is achieved. When the power-supply device is stopped, a gradual lowering of the output voltage from the power-supply device is obtained by gradually increasing the output voltage of the voltage supply unit so as to cancel the input voltage.

  • Patent number: 7233555
Abstract: A method for adjusting an optical axis of an optical disc drive. The method includes the following steps. A first reflecting member is disposed on a turntable of the optical disc drive, and is rotated along with the turntable. A laser light is emitted on the first reflecting member by a laser collimator, and a normal vector of the turntable is measured based on a light point reflected to the laser collimator from the first reflecting member. A second reflecting member and a third reflecting member are disposed on a guide bar of the optical disc drive. A first initial vector and a second initial vector are measured based on a light point reflected to the laser collimator from the second reflecting member and the third reflecting member.

  • Patent number: 7228888
Abstract: In a system for liquid cooling of electronics, where the electronics are subject to rotation in space, a liquid coolant storage tank includes a degassing and vortex-preventing structure to allow bubbles to float to the surface of the liquid inside the tank, and also to prevent vortices from forming near the outlet from the tank. The structure includes nested tubes or conduits. An inner conduit extends from the inlet into the tank, and its open end is covered by a second conduit with a baffle across its end, so that the flow is directed by the baffle to flow back along the outside of the inner conduit, and inside of the outer conduit. Especially at the inlet, a third conduit with large perforations surrounds the open end of the outer conduit. Smaller perforations on the inner conduit at the outlet side discourage any vortex from forming there. Reversal of the liquid flow, and the gradual increase in flow cross section prevent surging inside the tank.

  • Patent number: 7226336
Abstract: A method of producing a semiconductor device by dividing a semiconductor wafer into separate pieces of semiconductor chips. This method includes forming a groove with a pattern according to an outer contour of a desired semiconductor chip, holding the semiconductor wafer by a wafer holding mechanism, grinding a back surface of the semiconductor wafer held by the wafer holding mechanism, detecting opening of a bottom face of the groove during the back surface grinding process to determine timing for finishing the back surface grinding. The opening of the groove can be detected by means of a light sensor for detecting light passing through the groove or a microwave sensor for detecting a microwave passing through the groove. In addition, it is possible to suck air inside the groove so as to detect the opening of the groove by a pressure rise in the air inside the groove.
