Abstract: A differential amplifier. A differential pair constructed by a first transistor and the second transistor receives differential input signals. The gate terminals of a third and fourth transistor are coupled to the source terminals of the fourth transistor and the third transistor respectively, and the third and fourth transistor construct a feedback device. This feedback device provides a positive feedback to the differential pair in the differential mode, thereby increasing AC amplitude of the differential amplifier. Further this feedback device substantially brings the drain currents of the first current path and the second current path into coincidence in the Vcom mode.
Abstract: A data transfer control circuit includes several data receiver-transmitters, each having an interrupt identification register. Interrupt signals from the data receiver-transmitters are combined into a single interrupt signal by an interrupt controller. One of the data receiver-transmitters has an interrupt status register with bits indicating the logic levels of the interrupt signals from each of the data receiver-transmitters. A host device that receives the interrupt signal from the interrupt controller can read the interrupt status register to determine which data receiver-transmitter caused the interrupt, then read the interrupt identification register of that data receiver-transmitter to identify the interrupt source, without having to search through the interrupt identification registers of other data receiver-transmitters.

The position selector causes the developing roller to move to an inoperative position where no nip is formed between the photoconductive drum and the developing roller. The developing roller has a first rotational axis and the position selector has a second rotational axis away from the first rotational axis.
Abstract: An input/output buffer. An input/output circuit has a transmission terminal coupled to an I/O pad, and a floating N-well region. Abstract: The disclosed invention provides a tracking method of an optical storage. When proceeding with tracking, the optical pickup head can be moved constantly and the TE signal can be detected. Then differentiation of the TE signal is obtained. If the differentiation is less than 0, then the TE signal is masked; otherwise, the TE signal is not masked. Therefore, the TE Hysteresis signal can be determined by the TE signal and its differentiation. The TE Hysteresis signal of 0 represents that the laser beam is in the Pit, and then the tracking procedure is finished. Otherwise, the aforementioned steps are repeated until the end of the tracking procedure.
Abstract: A correction circuit for a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) is arranged outwardly of the voltage-controlled oscillator. The oscillation of the selected frequency and the frequency modulation are carried out independently of each other. The correction circuit includes a frequency selection controller generating a frequency selection signal of the DC potential, and a frequency modulation controller generating a modulation adjusting signal responsive to the input of a modulating signal. When a frequency modulation control signal, including the DC potential of the frequency selection signal and the modulation adjusting signal, is supplied to the voltage-controlled oscillator, the capacitance is lowered even if the frequency is increased, thus allowing the modulation degree to frequency to be decreased to a substantially constant level.
Abstract: A soft-output decoder that uses a-priori likelihood values to compute metrics while decoding a received data stream also uses the a-priori likelihood values to decide whether or not to compute the metrics for each position in the received data stream. Unnecessary computation can thereby be avoided, saving time and power. In an iterated soft-output decoding scheme, the soft-output decoder may decide whether or not to compute metrics for each position in the next iteration of the soft-output decoding process. These decisions may also be used to decide when to terminate the decoding process.
Abstract: To provide a magnetism detection apparatus that is small and low in cost and power consumption, a biasing coil 4 and a negative-feedback coil are integrated with a magnetic impedance element having a magnetic impedance effect in a resinous structure. The magnetism detection apparatus has a reduced magnetic resistance between the magnetic impedance element and the coil, thereby making it possible to apply a bias magnetic field and a negative-feedback magnetic field to the magnetic impedance element with a reduced power consumption.

Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for increasing the memory read/write speed with special function registers (SFRs). This method comprises the steps of: (1) connecting additional external memory to the processor as expanded memory, (2) mapping the address of expanded memory to the unused SFR address in the processor, and (3) creating a control flag for switching the processor between the ICE mode or the normal mode. When in the ICE mode, the processor still uses extended instructions to perform read/write with expanded memory. Switching back to the normal mode, the processor can use the internal instructions to perform read/write with expanded memory. Using this method, built-in of an internal ICE and the slowing down of read/write during debugging due to the use of an external ICE can be eliminated.
