Abstract: A method for motion estimation for use in video coding. In a predetermined search region, three starting rows are chosen, wherein a given prediction point is on the middle row, the N-th row. The method includes the following steps. (a) All points of the (N−2)-th, N-th, and (N+2)-th rows are chosen as checking points. (b) Block match errors for the checking points are calculated and a checking point which corresponds to a minimum block match error is defined as a candidate checking point. (c) A determination is made whether the candidate checking point is on the N-th row; if so, the method proceeds to step (g); otherwise, it proceeds to step (d). (d) It is determined that whether the candidate checking point is on the (N+2)-th row; if so, the method proceeds to step (e); otherwise, it proceeds to step (f). (e) N is incremented by two, all points of the (N+2)-th row are chosen as checking points, and step (b) is repeated.

The bridging frame is fastened with the front frame in conjunction with a connection seat which is provided with a stop projection for confining the rotation of the front frame, thereby preventing the front wheel of the tricycle from being jammed.
Abstract: A voltage-averaged temperature compensation method at start-up. The method implements two pluralities of PMOS devices such that a respective voltage-averaged temperature compensation circuit produces a first temperature voltage and a second temperature voltage to compensate temperature effect and accordingly produces an output voltage having a damping waveform in lower region when activating the first plurality of PMOS devices and a desired waveform in upper region when activating the second plurality of PMOS devices. As such, the error reference or control due to a prior damping waveform is eliminated.

The first device includes a preparing circuit that prepares data having a voltage defined related to a first threshold, and a transmitting circuit that transmits the data. The second device includes a receiving circuit that receives the data from the transmitting circuit, a bias circuit that raises the voltage of the received data by a predetermined voltage to produce a sum voltage, and a judging circuit that judges whether the voltage of the data indicates high or low by comparing the sum voltage with a second threshold that is equal to or larger than the first threshold. The second device may also include a power supply that provides electric power for the first device using a magnetic field.
Abstract: This invention relates to an improvement of two stroke engine in which a sleeve piston is employed to move up and down in the cylinder and to control alternatively the opening and closing of the intake guide and exhaust guide and to prevent the lubricant from exuding out of the crank case in an effort to ensure an environmental-friendly clean exhaust.
Abstract: A semiconductor device having an STI structure is provided by eliminating a problem of insufficient polishing of an insulating film on chips adjacent to a marking region by making a polishing pressure equal for all of the chips. A method for fabricating a semiconductor device having an isolation structure of the present invention includes: processing a marking region of a wafer having a device region, a grid line region and the marking region in order to enable a substantially equal polishing pressure to be applied to chips adjacent to the marking region of the wafer and to other chips, for example, by tapering or recessing; marking in the marking region; forming a nitride film and an oxide film on a surface of the wafer; removing the oxide film by polishing; and removing the nitride film.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an estimation system that can provide a highly reliable estimation result when the estimation system estimates person-hours required to prepare a film pattern for a circuit to be printed on a board. Upon receiving design conditions from a cline machine, a reference pin calculator of the estimation system calculates a number of reference pins on the basis of a total number of pins extending from parts to be integrated on the printed circuit board and a special specification requirement to be applied to the printed circuit. An additional pin calculator calculates a number of additional pins on the basis of a signal line wiring method. A total estimated pin calculator corrects a sum of the reference pins and the additional pins on the basis of design difficulty, which is determined from a number of signal layers to be made in the printed circuit, a number of signal lines arrangeable between adjacent pins and a pin density, to calculate a total estimated number of pins.
Abstract: A stepping motor driving apparatus with dynamic torque control includes a motor controller, a motor driver, and a frequency-to-voltage converter. In practice, the clock signals are sent to the motor driver and the frequency-to-voltage converter. When the motor is required to increase its speed, the system will increase the frequency of the clock signal CK. The reference voltage Vr will synchronously increase and generate higher driving current to drive the stepping motor so that the torque becomes larger. Besides, when the system fails and causes the stepping motor to run stiff, the system will reduce the driving current to the minimum automatically. It effectively avoids excessive heating and increases the security to the system.
Abstract: In a hybrid drive device which drives an electrical motor with electrical power from a storage device and/or from a generator driven by an engine, a secondary battery is generally used as the storage device. However, the storage device must be replaced at fixed intervals due to a short battery life. In addition, the low charging/discharging efficiency of a secondary battery limits improvements in fuel economy of the drive device. The present invention avoids these shortcomings by providing a storage device that includes a condenser bank with a plurality of condenser cells connected in series, parallel monitors which are connected in parallel to each condenser cell and which bypasses the charging current when the respective terminal voltages exceed a fixed value, and a switching converter with fixed current output characteristics which controls the charging electrical power to the condenser bank.

Abstract: A power control circuit for an optical information recording device is disclosed. A power sampling signal from a photodiode is transmitted to a peal envelope acquiring circuit and a bottom envelope acquiring circuit and then sampled and held, which is fed-back to a laser diode driving circuit. The laser diode driving circuit alters a driving signal emitted to the laser diode according to the fed-back signal to adjust the power of the optical signal emitted from the laser diode. Therefore, cost is reduced and the power control circuit is particularly suitable for high-speed recordable optical disk drive.
Abstract: A method of forming conductive patterns comprises preparing layout data about macro cells, preparing data about layouts of top-layer conductive pattern metal cells and preparing data about conductive patterns between the macro cells, inputting to the macro cells and outputting from the macro cells. Then measurement-required points of the conductive patterns lying between the macro cells are specified. The top-layer conductive pattern metal cell is interposed in each of the measurement-required points. Finally, layouts of the macro cells and conductive patterns are determined so that layout data is created.
Abstract: At a base station 2, a CDMA received signal coming in through an antenna 4 is fed to a radio frequency unit (RFU) or high frequency unit 6. The RFU 6 demodulates a baseband signal BB from a signal RF and delivers the signal BB to an analog-to-digital converter (A/D) 8. The resulting digital signal output from the A/D 8 is input to a hybrid interference canceller (HIC) 12 as a received signal Rx Data 10. The HIC 12 divides users into two groups and assigns one combination of a parallel interference canceller and a serial interference canceller to each group. The HIC 12 cancels interference contained in the received signal Rx Data 10 for thereby estimating symbols particular to a plurality of users.
