Abstract: A substrate pump circuit and method for I/O ESD protection including NMOS fingers connected to the interconnection between an I/O pad and an internal circuit comprises a MOS device connected to the interconnection between the I/O pad and the internal circuit and the substrate under the control of a switch to turn it on to conduct a pumping current through the substrate resistor when the I/O pad is under ESD stress, so as to pull up the potential of the substrate adjacent to the NMOS fingers, resulting in the reduction of the triggering voltage of the NMOS fingers.

Abstract: An electronic game apparatus for guessing the English acronyms comprise a game console and a system processor. The game console includes an alphanumeric keyboard, a display, and an ON/OFF switch. The system processor includes a central processing unit, a read only memory for storing the system software for performing the acronym guess, a random access memory and an input/output interface. The system software for performing the acronym guess includes a start loop module for setting the playing chances and the players'turn for each player, and a main loop module for displaying the subject category to be guessed, the acronym puzzle and the game wheel, and for guessing the meaning of the acronym based on the word spellings relative to each letter in the acronym puzzle and the related prompt information which are set and displayed at each segment on the game wheel.
Abstract: A turbine-boosted ultraviolet-radiation sterilizing fluid processor, comprising a quartz sleeve installed inside a tube unit, inside the quartz sleeve being installed an ultraviolet-radiation lamp, at the upper and lower end of the tube unit being respectively a fluid inlet tube and a fluid outlet tube; the invention is characterized in that: at the top of the tube unit and at the lower part of the fluid inlet tube is installed a diversion mechanism to form a fluid pressurizing chamber. When the fluid flows through the fluid inlet tube, into the diversion mechanism for pressurizing, a whirlpool spinning at a high speed is created so that the fluid with sterilizing function is blended properly. The fluid spinning at high speed also flushes the wall of the quartz sleeve thus increases the sterilizing effects and reduces the frequency for maintenance.
Abstract: A signal-processing method for performing a coordinate transformation operation and a quantization operation on an input data to obtain quantization outputs, and a signal-processing device therefor. A search strategy based on the characteristic of the input data is established. By using the search strategy, the End of Block (EOB) is predicted and the calculation structure is determined by the predicted EOB.

Abstract: A system status light indicator device embedded in a connecting port is made up of an error message processor and a plurality of light emitting diodes (LED), suitable for use with a Basic Input-Output System (BIOS) program. When the BIOS examines a plurality of the peripheral devices on the computer, as soon as an error is found, the warning signals can be sent to the error message processor, and then the corresponding error message data is retrieved. Next, it outputs the error message data to the system status indicator devices embedded in a connecting port. Thus, the operators can know exactly where the problems are located via the indicated boot-up warning signals sent out that indicate system status, and the messages corresponding to the light indicators recorded in the user's manual. The above-described error message data uses the light indicators to display the various causes of breakdown.
Abstract: A power switch apparatus is disclosed wherein the switch apparatus is applicable in an electronic product comprising a switch device capable of being switched between ON and OFF conditions. The power switch apparatus comprises an active element and a flexible arm. The active element installed inside the electronic product comprises a first connector and is coupled to the switch device. The ON and OFF conditions of the switch device correspond to the different positions of the active element. The flexible arm comprises a second connector and a contactor. The second connector is used to clip with the first connector at the ON condition. The electronic product is configured such that the contactor is not covered and remains accessible. The movement of the contactor is able to transform the shape of the flexible arm and to release the clipping relation between the first connector and the second connector.
Abstract: An inner tube (2) connected to a vehicle body is inserted such that it is free to extend and contract in an outer tube (1) joined to a vehicle shaft. A partitioning member (3) divides an internal oil chamber at the end of the inner tube. A damping valve (4) and a bypass passage (3d) parallel to this damping valve (4) are disposed in this partitioning member (3). A control rod (5) opens and closes the bypass passage (3d). An actuator (20) in the inner tube (2) controls the control rod (5). By operating the control rod (5) via the actuator (20) to open/close the bypass passage (3d), the damping force generated is varied.
Abstract: A protecting circuit for a horizontal transistor used for protecting the horizontal transistor of a horizontal deflecting circuit in a cathode ray tube. The protecting circuit comprises a switching circuit and a power sensor. The switching circuit is coupled to at least one sub capacitor of a S-character correcting loop. When the switching circuit is on, the switching circuit further connects the sub capacitors and the main capacitor of the S-character correcting loop in parallel. The power sensor is for detecting whether the D.C. voltage source is on. When the power sensor detects that the D.C. voltage source is off, the power sensor will turn on the switching circuit. The invention reduces a surge of the cross voltage VCE of the horizontal transistor when the system is off, therefore the invention achieves the goals of protecting the horizontal transistor and raising yield of the products.
Abstract: A polyimide layer is formed over a semiconductor chip, a rewiring to be connected to each of the electrode pads of the semiconductor chip is formed over the polyimide layer, and a post serving as a terminal is connected to each of the electrode pads via the rewiring, thereby redisposing the electrode pads. A resin for encapsulating the rewirings and the posts is formed on the surface of the semiconductor chip to the extent equivalent to the dimension of the semiconductor chip, and in a groove formed in portions of the resin, around the respective posts, the topmost surface and the sidewall face of the respective posts are exposed out of the resin.
Abstract: A line-and-space type first pattern and a roughly rectangular second pattern are joined in a rough comb shape to prepare a joint pattern. The first pattern is constituted of a plurality of line patterns each having a width along the direction of its shorter side set to a dimension that does not allow separation/resolution in the field of view of an optical length measuring machine. The second pattern has external dimensions that allow separation/resolution in the field of view of the optical length measuring machine. Such joint patterns are positioned over a distance that allows separation/resolution in the field of view of the optical length measuring machine from each other with the line portions of the first patterns extending outward and achieving a symmetrical positional relationship with together. This pattern is then transferred and formed onto a wafer using a stepper.
Abstract: A position-, speed- and force-controllable chip accessing apparatus comprises a fixing seat, a rotational direction moving device, a linear direction moving device, and a position sensing device, characterized in that a flexible positioning means is provided at a proper central site of said fixing seat and is screw fixed with said rotational direction moving device; one side of said rotational direction moving device is coupled with said linear direction moving device, while the other side of said rotational direction moving device is coupled with said position sensing device screw; and that by measuring with a speed sensor and a position sensing device on said linear direction moving device, the control of the force, speed and moving distance can be achieved.

Abstract: An IP (Internet Protocol) conference telephone system feasible for an IP-PBX (Private Branch Exchange) includes a communication control connected to an IP network. When a connection for a conference is set up between a plurality of telephones accommodated in the IP network, each telephone packetizes a voice signal and sends the resulting packet to the network to address it to a conference trunk. An IP bridge interconnected to the network receives packets via the network 10, multiplexes the voice signals of the packets on the channels of a down-going highway each corresponding to a particular telephone, and sends the multiplexed voice signals to the conference trunk. The conference trunk performs addition and subtraction with the above voice signals and returns the results of addition and subtraction on an up-going highway. This allows a conference to be held between the telephones. A multicast router may be substituted for the conference trunk, in which case the network will be adaptive to multicast.
Abstract: A reference voltage for obtaining a desired output voltage value, and an output voltage are inputted to an operational amplifier. A PMOS transistor whose on/off operation is controlled by the operational amplifier, outputs an internal node voltage therefrom. A switch control circuit outputs a signal constant in duty ratio, for activating CHG switches and DCHG switches respectively. A voltage dividing capacitor and an output capacitor respectively repeat charging and discharging based on a switching pulse constant in duty ratio. Accordingly, a stable output voltage obtained by series/parallel connection switching operations of two capacitors results in ½ of the internal node voltage.
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a packaged semiconductor device includes mounting a semiconductor device having multiple leads. The leads are formed by mounting the semiconductor device in a lead frame and punching and sealing the leads in the semiconductor device using a resin. The leads are bent to a predetermined configuration while substantially simultaneously bending a connecting member that is used for connecting the leads to a frame. The resulting packaged semiconductor device has leads that are not cut off from the lead frame, and the connection between the two can be maintained even after a bending process is finished.
Abstract: A channel diffusion area (2) for forming a channel region (2a) is placed on a semiconductor layer (1), a source area (3) is formed on this area and a source electrode (7) is formed on the surface of this source area by a metal film. Then, the metal of the source electrode is allowed to spike into the source area and the channel diffusion area to form an alloy layer (7a) with the semiconductor layer, and through this alloy layer, the source electrode is made in ohmic contact with both of the source area and the channel diffusion area. As a result, it is possible to obtain a semiconductor device with an insulated gate-driving element having a construction which makes it possible to minimize the on-resistance by increasing the gate width, using the chip area of the same size, and consequently to provide a greater current.
Abstract: A connector includes a plastic body having a metal case put over an outer portion of a front end thereof, an insertion plate connected to a rear end of the plastic body, an interconnecting cable including two rows of conducting wires separately set onto upper rear and lower rear sides of the insertion plate, and two covering plates separately covered onto upper and lower sides of the insertion plate to hold the conducting wire of the interconnecting cable in place and then integrally connected to the insertion plate by way of high-frequency heat sealing. The plastic body, the insertion plate, and the covering plates are provided at predetermined positions with slots for receiving isolation plates therein, so that terminals inserted in the plastic body are individually surrounded by the isolation plates to eliminate mutual interference and therefore enable stable transmission of signals at high speed.
Abstract: To provide a semiconductor device that has a structure for detecting dice cracks that occur in semiconductor chips. The semiconductor device structure according to the present invention makes it possible to detect electrically only the dice cracks that cause a loss of functionality of the semiconductor chip, doing so at the same time as the electrical characteristic tests that are performed after the fabrication of the semiconductor device.
