Abstract: In a method of forming a gate recess, on a surface of an epitaxial wafer including an epitaxial substrate, having a semiconductor layer having the band gap energy varying therein in the depth-wise direction, and a SiN surface protective layer, having a sidewall forming a gate opening and coating the surface of the epitaxial substrate, ultraviolet light having its energy equivalent to the band gap energy of the specific semiconductor layer is irradiated, while the specific semiconductor layer is photoelectrochemically etched from the gate opening with the SiN surface protective layer used as a mask. The gate recess free from plasma ion-induced damage is thus obtained.
Abstract: Methods for allocating transmission bandwidths of a network are adapted to a network including an office terminal and peripheral terminals. The peripheral terminals communicate with the office terminal by time division multiplexing during a sequence of transmitting cycles. The method includes receiving requested bandwidths from uploading messages delivered from the peripheral terminals, arranging an uploading order of the peripheral terminals based on the uploading messages to obtain a transmitting sequence, adjusting the uploading order of each of the peripheral terminals in the transmitting sequence based on a size of the requested bandwidth to obtain a modified transmitting sequence, and arranging a modified uploading order of the peripheral terminals based on the modified transmitting sequence. Therefore, the transmission bandwidth allocation is fairer, and delay is reduced. Upstream order of each terminal is transferred based on its requested bandwidth, thereby effectively reducing the average delay.

Abstract: A light source module for generating polarized light includes a light emitting element, a reflector, and an optical element. The light emitting element generates a light ray, and the reflector reflects the light ray towards the optical element. The optical element includes a light splitting face and a reflection face. The light splitting face receives the light ray, and an angle between the light splitting face and the incident light ray is at about a Brewster's Angle. After the light ray is irradiated to the light splitting face, the light ray is divided into a refraction light and a reflection light. The reflection face reflects the refraction light, and the reflection face is substantially perpendicular to a path of the refraction light. Therefore, a light source with a high degree of polarization is realized by a design of the light splitting face and the reflection face.

Abstract: Provided are a tag estimation method and a tag identification method using the same in a RFID system. In the tag estimating method, a reader divides tags in an identifiable area into a predetermined number of groups. Tags are identified by applying a pilot frame Lp to a first group among the divided groups. The reader calculates a collision probability Pcoll of tags after the pilot frame ends. Then, unidentified tags of the first group, which are not identified for the pilot frame, are identified by allocating an additional pilot slot Ladd at an end of the pilot frame or generating a new frame L1 according to the collision probability Pcoll.

Abstract: The liquid crystal driving circuit for converting pixel values into driving voltages on a plurality of channels includes a reference voltage generating circuit, a plurality of buffer amplifiers, an output selection circuit coupling, and a plurality of switch circuits. The reference voltage generating circuit generates a plurality of grayscale reference voltages. Each buffer amplifier corresponds to one of the grayscale voltages and is powered by a supply voltage. The output selection circuit couples to the channels to outputs of the buffer amplifiers selected according to the pixel values. The switch circuits couples inputs of the selected buffer amplifiers to receive the corresponding grayscale reference voltages, and couples inputs of the unselected buffer amplifiers to receive the supply voltage.
Abstract: A hand held shower with a button switching mechanism for switching spray patterns disclosed in the present invention comprises a body, a button switching mechanism and a cover unit. The button switching mechanism comprises a seat, a disc, a lever, a button, a lower ratchet wheel sleeve and an upper wheel bar. Each time the button pressed, the disc will be rotated to a certain angle so that the outlet hole of the disc will align with the different inlets of seat. The inlets of the seat and the channels with different functions of the cover unit cooperate to switch the spray pattern. The spray pattern can be conveniently and accurately switched by pressing the button with one hand and with little effort.
Abstract: A fin of aquatic carrier is described, which includes a fixing component, a retractable component, and a first elastic component. The retractable component is pivoted to the fixing component; the first elastic component connects the fixing component and the retractable component and supports the retractable component. When the retractable component experiences an external force, the first elastic component is compressed and causes the retractable component to rotate with respect to the fixing component. When surfers or swimmers are hit by the fin of aquatic carrier described in this invention, the rotation of the retractable component with respect to the fixing component reduces the force exerted on them, thus preventing them from being hurt. In addition, an aquatic carrier with a fin is also described.
