Abstract: Provided are repetition apparatus and method for repeatedly transmitting and receiving a data packet using different puncturing patterns to overcome signal attenuation and fading in a high speed mobile environment by repeatedly transmitting the duplicated information bit sequences with parity bits having a different puncturing pattern after channel-encoding the duplicated information bit. The repetition apparatus for repeatedly transmitting a data packet, includes a dual data generator for generating duplicated information bit sequences identical to each of information bit sequences to transmit, a channel encoder for dividing each of the duplicated information bit sequences into a plurality of information bits, and generating coded data packets alternately having a plurality of parity bits according to different puncturing patterns for each of the divided information bits, and a transmitter for transmitting the generated coded data packets sequentially.

Abstract: A satellite information operation method of a GPS device includes following steps. An antenna module is provided, so as to receive a satellite signal. A signal processing circuit is provided, so as to perform an analog-to-digital conversion on the satellite signal and obtain a plurality of first digital data. A memory with a comparison table stored therein is provided, and the comparison table records corresponding relations between a plurality of second digital data and a plurality of return values. A CPU is provided, which groups the first digital data in sequence by using a bit number of any second digital data in the comparison table, obtains each of the second digital data consistent with each group of first digital data through comparison, and looks up a corresponding return value according to each of the second digital data obtained through comparison to continue the operation according to the obtained return value.
Abstract: This invention provides a magnetic recording medium evaluation apparatus and evaluation method which yield results having good correlation with error rate measurements even when comparing media with different structures. Signals from a function generator are recorded in a magnetic recording medium. The recording signals are also passed through a first digital filter to obtain ideal restored signals. Reproduced signals from the magnetic recording medium are sampled in synchronization with the output from the function generator, and the discrete signals are passed through a second digital filter to obtain restored signals. The outputs from the first and second digital filters are input to an operational amplifier, and the difference between the restored signals and the ideal restored signals is taken for each sampling of the recording signals. The signal-to-noise ratio of the ideal restored signal to the average of the absolute value of this difference is used to evaluate signal quality.

Abstract: A cut hole type air lock valve is disposed in an air chamber formed by allowing two outer films to be adhered to each other by means of hot sealing. A part of rims of both inner films folded together are adhered to each other and several portions of rims thereof are formed to be air inlets in the cut hole type air lock valve. Furthermore, the air inlet is connected to an air passageway between the inner films, and at least one cut hole is disposed on the inner films beside the air passageway. When outside air flows into the air passageway via the air inlet and is filled in an air chamber via the cut holes, the air chamber is caused to fill with air and inflate, and air inside air chamber thrusts the inner films so as to block the air passageway to cause the air to be locked.

Abstract: A base apparatus for providing engagement to advice holder is provided, including a connection unit, a fixed unit, and at least a weight unit. The connection unit is for connecting a clapper or holder of electronic device, and the fixed unit is engaged to the bottom of the connection unit. The weight unit is sandwiched between and partially contained within the boundaries of the connection unit and the fixed unit. The weight unit includes a wrap means, an anti-slip means, and at least a weight object. Abstract: A method of auto-retracting a lens of an image capture apparatus and a control system using the same are applied to an image capture apparatus with a retractable lens. The method includes the following steps. A hardware circuit of the image capture apparatus detects whether an abnormal power failure event occurs or not. The hardware circuit performs a re-boot procedure when detects that the abnormal power failure event occurs. After the hardware circuit performs the re-boot procedure, software in the image capture apparatus utilizes residual power only to perform a control procedure of retracting the lens. After the retractable lens is detected to have been retracted into the image capture apparatus, the software controls the image capture apparatus to be powered off.
Abstract: An abrupt MIT (metal-insulator transition) device with parallel MIT material layers is provided. The abrupt MIT device includes a first electrode disposed on a certain region of a substrate, a second electrode disposed so as to be spaced a predetermined distance apart from the first electrode, and at least one MIT material layer electrically connecting the first electrode with the second electrode and having a width that allows the entire region of the MIT material layer to be transformed into a metal layer due to an MIT. Due to this configuration, deterioration of the MIT material layer, which is typically caused by current flowing through the MIT material layer, is less likely to occur.

Abstract: A dental impression tray has a base and a relator. The base has a biting portion and a handle. The biting portion is curved. The handle is formed on the biting portion and has an arc hole that is defined through the handle to receive impression material. The relator has a vertical bar and a horizontal bar. The relator is mounted in the arc hole and is fastened in the arc hole by impression material. The horizontal bar connects perpendicularly to the vertical bar. Therefore, the impression of the teeth to be crowned or veneered as well as the relation between the impression and the patient's face are obtained simultaneously.

Abstract: A method for adjusting a serial data signal having multiple sets of bits includes the following steps. First, one set of bits in the serial data signal is over-sampled to generate a first set of over-sampled bits. Next, every adjacent two bits of the first set of over-sampled bits are compared to generate one set of edge bits. Then, a delay operation is determined according to the set of edge bits. Afterwards, a displacement operation is executed on next sets of bits in the serial data signal according to the delay operation.
