Abstract: A method for fabricating liquid crystal (LC) alignment includes the steps of processing an alignment film having a plurality of liquid crystal molecules with a single or plurality of plasma generating devices, such that the liquid crystal molecules are aligned at a high pretilt angle. Compared with the prior art, the present invention is suitable for modifying the alignment film surface adjustablely in directions and angles, and can attain the effect of alignment stability with a high pretilt angle in a single process, thus overcoming the drawbacks of the prior art.

Abstract: The method of fabricating a semiconductor device includes subjecting a semiconductor substrate to trench etching by alternately repeating an etching step and a deposition step. The etching step creates a trench structure by dry-etching the exposed surface of the semiconductor substrate. An etching mask is formed on the surface of the semiconductor substrate so that the semiconductor substrate has the exposed portion. The deposition step deposits a protection film for suppressing etching of the trench side walls. The method of fabricating a semiconductor device also includes subjecting the semiconductor substrate that has just undergone the trench etching to a heat treatment at a predetermined temperature. The semiconductor substrate is heat-treated within a temperature range of 300 to 500° C. immediately following the trench etching, for example. Plasma ashing is then performed.
Abstract: A semiconductor device of a double diffused MOS structure employing a silicon carbide semiconductor substrate. The semiconductor device comprises a silicon carbide semiconductor epitaxial layer provided on a surface of the silicon carbide semiconductor substrate and having a first conductivity which is the same conductivity as the silicon carbide semiconductor substrate, and an impurity region formed by doping a surface portion of the silicon carbide semiconductor epitaxial layer with an impurity of a second conductivity, the impurity region having a profile such that a near surface thereof has a relatively low second-conductivity impurity concentration and a deep portion thereof has a relatively high second-conductivity impurity concentration.
Abstract: A double tube hydraulic shock absorber comprises: an outer tube; an inner tube; a base valve which is fitted and fixed to a base end of the inner tube; a lower cap provided so as to contact a leg portion of the base valve and seal a base end of the outer tube in an oil tight fashion; a piston rod inserted into the inner tube so as to be capable of an axial reciprocation; and a guide member attached to a top side of the outer tube and the inner tube so as to support the piston rod and apply an axial force on the inner tube. In this double tube hydraulic shock absorber, the leg portion of the base valve and the lower cap contact each other on a line of action of the axial force that is applied toward the base end of the inner tube.
Abstract: A fuel supplying apparatus is proposed, having a fuel and a polymer to control rate of fuel release. When the fuel supplying apparatus is applied in a fuel cell, the rate of fuel release is controlled using the polymer to maintain fuel concentration in the fuel tank of the fuel cell within a certain range without additionally installing devices and tubes for controlling fuel concentration. Thus, operation efficiency of the fuel cell is improved.

Abstract: Disclosed is a six-bar linkage positioning mechanism mounted inside a clean container formed of a locating member and a four-bar linkage and a driving module which, when moved, has the slide of the driving module stopped at the base of the cleaning container and be forced to move upwards relative to a sliding way inside the locating member and to cause the driving link of the driving module to drive the four-bar linkage upwards and to further force the second link of the four-bar linkage to push workpieces in respective insertion slots in a cassette on the clean container. The six-bar linkage positioning mechanism has only one degree of freedom so that it moves workpieces horizontally in the cassette into position by means of contact at a point, preventing contamination due to friction and also improving moving stability.

Abstract: A transparent electrically conductive film comprising one of In2O3—ZnO, In2O3—SnO2, ZnO, and SnO2 is provided on a surface of a metal electrode of an organic EL (electroluminescent) device on the light-emitting layer side, and the thickness of this transparent electrically conductive film is set such as to satisfy the following equation, where L is the optical distance from the organic light-emitting layer to the metal electrode, and ? is the emission wavelength, whereby light reflected by the metal electrode is made to undergo interference and thus strengthen itself in the device; as a result, there are provided an organic EL device and an organic EL panel using the same, according to which the external quantum efficiency can be improved with no accompanying deterioration in the brightness, and moreover the contrast can be improved: L=(2n+1)?/4 (n=0,1,2, . . . ).
Abstract: This invention discloses a combined chopping board including a main chopping board and several additional chopping boards, the main chopping board and additional chopping boards are connected by means of a movable connection structure. The movable connection structure includes a hole stopper consisting of a head part and a neck part, this neck part is inserted in the through hole of the main chopping board across the through hole of the additional chopping board to fix the additional chopping board on the main chopping board; it can fulfill the need to use many chopping boards by the same user and can be selected according to the specific properties of the food, such as uncooked or cooked, the hardness of cutting through, and so on. The boards can be replaced and cleaned conveniently and the storage room can be saved with many chopping boards folding to an integral.
Abstract: Provided is an operational transconductance amplifier (OTA). An existing Nauta transconductor used to implement a high frequency Gm-C filter integrated circuit (IC) is analyzed by a new method and from a new perspective to remove extra components and divide roles of remaining inverters for more simple and efficient circuit structure. In an existing Nauta transconductor, a common mode signal from an input terminal is amplified and appears at an output terminal, while in the inventive Nauta transconductor the common mode signal from an input terminal does not appear at the output terminal and is effectively eliminated. These enhanced characteristics can be achieved with a smaller number of inverters than an existing Nauta transconductor. Frequency characteristics of the filter can be effectively enhanced by independently controlling the quality factor without affecting the transconductance value required for frequency characteristics of the filter.

Abstract: A scanner is connected to a printer to form a simple copying system in which the printer is controlled from the scanner. In one aspect of the invention, the scanner queries the printer to learn features implemented in the printer, and constructs a menu enabling a user of the scanner to control use of the printer's features, so that the scanner can be connected to a variety of printers without the need for firmware modifications. In another aspect of the invention, the printer has an accounting feature and manages printing fees according to account identifiers input by the scanner, eliminating the need to use copy cards to collect copying fees.
