Abstract: A lens and an LED using the lens to achieve homogeneous illumination include a region. The region around the optical axis of a lens is designed to be concave and form a divergent surface. The upper surface of the lens is a continuous curved surface to diverge the high-intensity light emitted by the LED in the vicinity of the optical axis through refractions. Therefore, the LED can homogeneously illuminate a larger area.

Abstract: A method of detecting and quantifying viable cells in a sample. The method includes fluorescently staining the cells by adding a fluorescent dye into the sample or putting the sample in contact with the fluorescent dye. A quenching dye is then added to the stained sample, or the sample is put into contact with the quenching dye, at a pH different from the pH in the viable cells. The quenching dye used is permeable through the membrane of a viable cell and does not readily absorb fluorescence of the fluorescent dye at the pH in the viable cells, but absorbs the fluorescence of the fluorescent dye at the pH of the fluorescent dye. Next, the sample, now stained with the fluorescent dye and the quenching dye, is illuminated by an excitation light for the fluorescent dye at a pH different from the pH in the viable cells and the fluorescence emitted from the sample is collected and detected.
Abstract: A peripheral component interconnect (PCI) bus test system and method therefor, that is applied in a PCI test card. The PCI test card includes a static random-access-memory (SRAM). In the method, the data transaction of the PCI bus signal is disintegrated into a separate data operation, while eliminating the waveform interfering transaction. Through comparing the waveform of the data operation as separated from a PCI bus signal with the standard PCI bus waveform, the quality of the PCI bus signals can be precisely analyzed, thus realizing the hardware test of PCI bus.

Abstract: A first estimated location of a target terminal to be estimated in its location is obtained based on information derived from radio signals for location estimation and also locations of anchor terminals. Then, on the basis of the first estimated location thus obtained, estimated distances are calculated while expected values are calculated based on information required for location estimation to compare the estimated distances with the expected-values. Depending on the comparison result, one or more anchor terminals are selected as nonuse terminals. On the basis of information required for location estimation derived from radio signals sent by the anchor terminals other than the selected nonuse terminals and also on the locations of the anchor terminals except the nonuse terminals, a second estimated location of the target terminal is obtained.
Abstract: A heat dissipating apparatus has a micro-structure layer. Two highly heat conductive members are provided, each having structured patterns. A highly heat conductive material is coated on the structured patterns by injection molding for forming a micro-structure layer. The two highly heat conductive members are assembled to form a heat dissipating apparatus having a micro-structure layer. The heat dissipating apparatus includes a main body composed of the highly heat conductive members. The main body forms an accommodating cavity, and inner surfaces of the accommodating cavity form the micro-structure layer. A working fluid is filled into the accommodating cavity for transferring heat from a heat absorbing surface to a heat dissipating surface.

Abstract: The invention of the present application provides a heat radiation structure of a semiconductor device, and includes a substrate having, on a surface thereof, a first area on which the semiconductor device is mounted, and a second area which surrounds the first area. The semiconductor device has a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surfaces, and is formed with a plurality of terminals provided on the first surface. The semiconductor device is mounted on the substrate in such a manner that the first surface is opposite to the surface of the substrate. A first heat radiating film is formed on the second area of the substrate, and a second heat radiating film is formed on the second surface of the semiconductor device, with the second heat radiating film being spaced apart from the first heat radiating film.
Abstract: A photoelectric conversion device includes a photoelectric conversion layer that is stacked on a semiconductor substrate and that has first, second, and third photoelectric conversion regions, and first, second, and third dividing regions. The first dividing region is formed at a predetermined depth from a surface of the photoelectric conversion layer in the first photoelectric conversion region, and divides the first photoelectric conversion region into a first surface side region closer to the surface thereof and a first substrate side region closer to the semiconductor substrate. The first dividing region has a through hole. The second dividing region is formed at substantially the same depth as the first dividing region or at a shallower depth than the first dividing region in the second photoelectric conversion region. The third dividing region is formed at a shallower depth than the second dividing region in the third photoelectric conversion region.

A condition judgment operation is employed.
Abstract: A power regulator with a constant-voltage output is provided, which includes a voltage regulator module and a voltage buffer module, wherein the voltage regulator module is spaced from a load by the voltage buffer module, so that an output voltage of the voltage regulator module is not affected by the current of the load, thereby enhancing the output precision of the power regulator.
Abstract: A paper pressing device disposed on one side of a paper track of a sheet feed scanner, corresponding to a scanning module on the other side of the paper track is provided. The paper pressing device includes two pivot seats, a pressing block, and an elastic element. The two pivot seats are respectively disposed at two lateral edges of the paper track. The pressing block is located across and above the paper track, and is pivotally disposed between the two pivot seats for being rotated and slid. The elastic element, pressing against the pressing block, is used to provide a normal force to push the pressing block to move linearly and rotate. By adjusting the position and angle of the pressing block, the paper is flattened onto the scanning module.

Abstract: A duplexer including an FBAR band pass filter that can be easily embodied in single chip, and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The duplexer of a mobile communication device includes a transmitting band pass filter, formed on an upper portion of a substrate, having at least two FBARs electrically connected to each other, a receiving band pass filter, formed on an other side of the substrate, having at least two FBARs electrically connected to each other, and a page shifter electrically connected with the transmitting band pass filter and the receiving band pass filter. Since the transmitting and receiving band pass filter and the inductor can be integrated into one chip, a duplexer with minimized size can be provided in response to the request of miniaturization and lightness of various mobile communication device.
Abstract: The present invention provides an optical switch in which a switching operation is not affected even when the polarization state of a control light varies. The optical switch comprises a loop-form optical waveguide loop circuit formed from an optical nonlinear medium, control light input means of phase control means for inputting the control light into the optical waveguide loop circuit, and a wavelength demultiplexing/multiplexing circuit. The optical waveguide loop circuit is constituted by an optical path formed from a first optical fiber extending from an optical demultiplexer/multiplexer to the control light input means, an optical path formed from a second optical fiber extending from the control light input means to the wavelength demultiplexing/multiplexing circuit, and an optical path formed from a fourth optical fiber extending from the wavelength demultiplexing/multiplexing circuit and returning to the optical demultiplexer/multiplexer.

Abstract: A processing circuit for simplifying a plurality of types of synchronization signals into a single type of signal is described. The processing circuit has a first polarity converter, a second polarity converter, an extraction circuit, a removal circuit, a detection circuit, and a selection circuit. The extraction circuit extracts a vertical synchronization composition from an inputted synchronization signal on a first line. When an inputted vertical synchronization signal exists on a second line, the selection circuit outputs the inputted vertical synchronization signal, and when the inputted vertical synchronization signal doesn't exist on the second line, the selection circuit outputs the vertical synchronization composition extracted from the inputted synchronization signal.

Abstract: Methods for allocating transmission bandwidths of a network are provided. The allocation ratio of anticipation bandwidths is adjusted according to the loading of the network to calculate the requested bandwidths, thereby effectively reducing an average delay and enhancing the utility rate of the network. Further, remaining bandwidth of the network is allocated based on maximum used bandwidth and bandwidth compensation of each terminal during the transmission cycle, to allocate excess bandwidth for each terminal. Therefore, the transmission bandwidth allocation is fairer, and delay is reduced. Upstream order of each terminal is transferred based on its requested bandwidth, thereby effectively reducing the average delay.

Abstract: An apparatus with the additionally installable equipment. The apparatus includes an apparatus housing and an additionally installable equipment detachably attached to the apparatus housing. An inserted portion is formed to a bottom surface of the apparatus housing, and an inserting portion is formed to an upper surface of the additionally installable equipment. When the additionally installable equipment is detached from the apparatus housing upon titling the apparatus housing at a tilt angle, a summation of the tilt angle and an interference angle formed of a point where the inserted portion and the inserting portion interfere with each other is rendered less than forty five degrees. Thus, when the additionally installable equipment is detached from the apparatus housing, the additionally installable equipment can be detached from the apparatus housing without deforming the inserting portion.
