Abstract: A heatsink module used for dissipating heat generated by a heat generating component is provided. The heatsink module includes a heat pipe, a heatsink fin assembly, a fan blade motor set, a fan shell, and an external cover. The heat pipe conducts the heat generated by the heat generating component to the heatsink fin assembly. The fan blade motor set, disposed in the fan shell and covered by the external cover, operates to generate an airflow passing through the heatsink fin assembly to dissipate the heat on the heatsink fin assembly. The fan shell has a plurality of buckling components, and the external cover has a plurality of matching components disposed at the edge corresponding to the buckling components, such that the buckling components and the matching components are buckled together when the external cover is covered on the fan shell, so as to fast combine the parts.

  • Patent number: 7451491
Abstract: A method of limiting the use of software determines, before the software is executed on hardware, whether or not the hardware has a specific configuration inherent in a specific kind of hardware. If it is determined that the hardware has the specific configuration, then the method allows the software to be executed on that hardware. Otherwise, the method runs the software with a penalty incorporated therein such as to substantially be unusable. This allows the software to be correctly executed only by the specific kind of hardware.

  • Patent number: 7449972
Abstract: A voltage controlled oscillator with anti supply voltage variation and/or process variation includes an oscillation circuit for outputting an oscillatory signal; a current source coupled to the oscillation circuit for providing an input current to the oscillation circuit; and a variation compensation circuit for compensating the variations generated by the supply voltage and process. The variation compensation circuit includes a peak detector for generating a peak voltage proportional to the amplitude of the oscillatory signal; a compensating voltage generator for generating a reference voltage according to the process variation so that the oscillation circuit achieves the same working conditions under the process variation; and a comparator for comparing the peak voltage and the reference voltage to generate a control voltage. When the variation compensation circuit includes an amplifier, the supply voltage can be compensated.

  • Patent number: 7450771
Abstract: A method of optimizing a compression of a still image in JPEG 2000 format, which includes the steps of: (a) dividing an image into a predetermined numbers of tiles each having a predetermined numbers of tile pixels; (b) decomposing each of the tiles into a predetermined number of subbands by Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT); (c) partitioning each of the subbands into a predetermined number of code-blocks which are arranged into a plurality of bit-planes respectively; (d) minimizing a total rate with a given predetermined total distortion of image so as to pre-determine an optimal truncation point for each of the code-blocks; (e) truncating a predetermined part of the DWT coefficients for each of the code-blocks so as to reduce computational resource; and (f) encoding each of the code-blocks by embedded block-coding to form an embedded code-stream having a plurality of code passes.

  • Patent number: 7449271
Abstract: An electrophotographic photoconductor and method that seldom generate cracks even while recycling a photoconductor drum and peripheral members or in a liquid developing process, and thereby produce excellent images. The electrophotographic photoconductor includes a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer comprising a charge generation material and a charge transport material. The photosensitive layer comprises a resin binder of polyarylate resin having structural units represented by the following formula (I): In the formula, R1 and R2 represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, or an aryl group. R1, R2, and a carbon atom bonding to the R1 and R2 together form a cyclic structure. The cyclic structure is bonded to no more than two arylene groups. Each of R3 through R10 being a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom, and a bromine atom. The values of m and n satisfy the equation 0.5<m/(m+n)<0.7.

  • Patent number: 7451313
Abstract: An encryption method for protecting application software is to first fetch a unique identification code of the application software at the user site. Then, transfer the unique identification code to a server for registration. The server operates according to the unique identification code and the current date information and generates a starting password. The starting password is transferred to the user for starting the application software. The encryption is made by applying a password from the website server based on a unique identification code and on-line verification.
