Abstract: Anti-caries, anti-calculus oral composition, such as dental cream or gel or mouthwash, containing a diamine tetra (methylene phosphonic acid) salt, such as ethylene diamine tetra (methylene polyphosphonic acid) salt, and alkali metal fluoride, such as sodium fluoride. The mole ratio of the tetra (methylene phosphonate) portion to fluoride is at least 1.4:1, thereby providing optimum anti-caries and anti-calculus effects.
Abstract: A dentifrice composition containing a water-soluble monofluorophosphate and a calcium salt polishing agent, principally dicalcium phosphate, and a surface active agent containing an anionic phosphate mono- and di- ester mixture. An alkali metal fluoride may be present in minor amount to the monofluorophosphate. The phosphate ester mixture improves retention of soluble fluoride.

Abstract: A dentifrice is described comprising an aqueous phase containing aluminium and an oil phase containing fluoride, the immiscibility and physiochemical properties of the phases resulting in a "dual action" effect on dentition to which this dentifrice is applied by substantially separate treatment with aluminium and then fluoride.
Abstract: A hazed toothpaste which can effect dental remineralization and reduce caries formation. The toothpaste contains a binary fluorine-providing system which provides about 750-1225 ppm fluoride from sodium monofluorophosphate and about 50-1000 ppm fluorine from sodium fluoride and a synthetic precipitated siliceous polishing agent. The toothpaste is stabilized against gassing in an unlined aluminium tube by the presence of a dicalcium phosphate which exerts a hazing effect on the toothpaste. Dicalcium phosphate also reduces color fading when a water-soluble dye is present. Additional haze to permit opacification of the toothpaste may be introduced by the presence of an opacifying agent, such as titanium dioxide.

Abstract: A gameboard and carrying case wherein the gameboard is of pliable material, such as leather, so that it is adapted to be rolled into a roll and a carrying case for the gameboard which receives the gameboard when in a rolled condition and in which there are also received within the roll of the gameboard in the bore of that roll, the playing pieces which may be stored in a gamepack for storing play pieces. The game pack may comprise a pair of bags with a maximum opening less than the interior of the rolled gameboard and received within the rolled gameboard.
Abstract: A dental cream is disclosed having a two-tone flavor comprising essential oil and water-insoluble oleoresin extract of dried fruit, which oleoresin has higher sensation effect than said essential oil and is soluble in the said essential oil, the said flavor composition comprising about 0.01-5% by weight of the said aqueous oral composition, the said oleoresin comprising about 0.001-0.1% by weight of the said aqueous oral composition and the weight ratio of the said essential oil to the said oleoresin being at least about 10:1.
Abstract: A rheologically smooth opaque dentifrice containing a siliceous polishing material, at least about 35% by weight of water, sodium alkyl sulfate surface active agent wherein the alkyl group contains 10-18 carbon atoms, with about 40-70% being C.sub.12 and about 0.1-15% by weight of an alkylene diamine tetramethylene phosphonic acid water soluble salt.
Abstract: Dentifrice containing a compound which provides fluorine, amorphous silica polishing agent and an additive which supplies calcium ions. The dentifrice is compatible with an unlined aluminum container.
Abstract: A gameboard and carrying case wherein the gameboard is of pliable material, such as leather, so that it is adapted to be rolled into a roll and a carrying case for the gameboard which receives the gameboard when in a rolled condition and in which there are also received within the roll of the gameboard in the bore of that roll, the playing pieces which are stored in an openable receptacle which when closed is cylindrical in shape and of circular configuration throughout its axial length, said receptacle being sized to nest said play pieces therein.
Abstract: A dentifrice containing a siliceous polishing material and binding or gelling agent including resinous poly(ethylene oxide). The polishing agent flocculates in the presence of the resinous poly(ethylene oxide) and provides the dentifrice with desirable stain removal effectiveness without unduly raising dentin abrasion. Foaming character is also achieved when a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block copolymer and xanthan are present.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a dentifrice containing dispersed speckles or bits therein includes converting a gel or paste dental composition into flowing stream or ribbon form, directing a stream or curtain of speckle or bit particles onto the ribbon of dentifrice, to which such particles adhere, and controlling relative feed rates of the dentifrice and the speckles, so that there is produced a dentifrice containing the distributed speckles in desired proportion. Also described are apparatuses for carrying out the process.
Abstract: Dental cream which readily disperses when agitated in the presence of water or saliva. The gel system of the dentifrice contains xanthan and an alginate in a weight ratio of about 3:1 to 1:3, preferably about 3:1 to 1:1. The dental cream also has desirable texture or "feel" in the mouth and undergoes slow drainage of liquid from foam produced during toothbrushing.
Abstract: Preparations containing alkali metal monofluorophosphate anticaries material, alkaline earth metal orthophosphate polishing material and water soluble alkali metal trimetaphosphate are disclosed which can be used in unlined aluminium tubes by virtue of the presence of defined amounts of phytic acid.
Abstract: Apparatus for measuring fluid flow comprising a tubular body (4) within which is supported an insert (5) having on its outer surface a helical formation of crests (6) and troughs (7). Between the body (4) and the insert (5) there is a fluid flow path (8). A transducer (20) detects fluctuations in fluid flow characteristics in the path (8), and a resultant signal is transmitted via amplifier (21), filter (22) and frequency counter (23) to a display (24) calibrated in terms of rate of fluid flow along the path (8).

Abstract: A dentifrice composition containing an anionic surfactant, and a minor amount of a water soluble positively charged protein hydrolysate having an isoionic point above 7, and a Bloom gel value of zero, selected from the group consisting of a protein hydrolysate fraction containing high concentrations of basic amino acids or a quaternary derivative of a protein hydrolysate, which counters the irritation to the oral tissue and reduces the bitterness caused by said anionic surfactant, without reducing its foaming and cleansing properties. The present invention relates to novel oral compositions which are substantially non-irritating to the oral tissue, comprising an anionic surfactant and a positively charged water soluble protein hydrolysate fraction containing a high concentration of basic amino acids or a quaternary derivative of a protein hydrolysate.
