  • Patent number: 5111914
Abstract: A spot-type disc brake for automotive vehicles, with a housing and with a brake carrier provided with two arms which are positioned in radial direction relative to the brake disc at a distance from each other and with a brake lining slidably guided at the arms in the direction of brake application and furnished with a carrier plate. The brake lining is connected to the arms in a positive locking fit in the direction of the circumference of the brake disc in such a manner that the frictional force occurring at the brake lining is transmitted to both arms at least in the presence of more elevated brake application forces. The arms with surfaces facing each other form a guide which is open in radially outward direction and serves to accommodate and guide the brake shoe. One arm in the vicinity of the brake disc is formed with a groove extending in the direction of brake application and is open outwardly.

  • Patent number: 5112018
Abstract: A power seat track apparatus for selectively positioning an automotive vehicle seat is adapted to be powered by an electric motor drive, preferably with separate motors for each drive direction. The seat back is mounted on the upper track of the seat track mechanism for horizontal drive with the track. The vertical drive through front and rear torsion tubes or bars act on only the seat pan and seat cushion but not on the seat back. Since the vehicle shock loading requirements must be met by the structural seat pan or seat frame, the pan for holding only the seat cushion may be reduced in size as compared to the usual power seat frame. The front of the seat cushion is interconnected with the pan through a lost motion pivot and the rear portion of the seat cushion is interconnected with the seat pan through a fixed pivot connection whereby simultaneous elevation and shortening of the seat cushion with respect to the seat back is effected.

  • Patent number: 5107969
Abstract: A controllable vibration damper for automotive vehicles is disclosed having a damping piston which is axially slidably and sealedly guided in a damping tube, and which subdivides the damping tube filled with a damping medium into two working chambers. The connection between the two working chambers is provided with at least one non-regulated first valve and at least one controllable second valve, which valves are arranged acting hydraulically in parallel in respect to one another. In order to be able to regulate the effective damping force continuously in wide ranges, for the adjustment of damping hardness, the controllable valve will periodically open and close in rapid sequence in dependence upon pulsed control signals.

  • Patent number: 5105903
Abstract: A brake system with electronic anti-lock control for all-wheel driven automotive vehicles possesses two control channels, to which diagonally each one front wheel (VR or VL) and one rear wheel (HL or HR) are connected. Rotational speed sensors (24, 25) are provided at the front wheels only. During anti-lock or slip control, front wheels and rear wheels are coupled such that a brake torque is transmittable at least from the rear wheels to the front wheels. Preferably, brake torques are transmitted also from the front axle to the rear axle. For coupling, a differential lock (6) is arranged in the distribution differential (3) which lock is controllable by a signal of the anti-lock control system.

  • Patent number: 5105131
Abstract: A power drive system for a sliding door, such as those employed on van type vehicles, enables a positive drive powered operation of the door by a control switch remote from the door and a programmed electronic control unit while accommodating manual operation of the door without mechanical interference or resistance from the drive or altering of the drive control program. A push/pull cable connected to the door is in positive meshed engagement at all times with a rotary drive gear whose rotative displacement from a rest position is continuously transmitted to the electronic control unit as a door position input signal. During powered operation of the door, the control unit is programmed to actuate or control a reversible drive motor or associated devices when the door is at selected positions along its path of movement.

  • Patent number: 5100210
Abstract: An anti-locking hydraulic brake system is provided, having a master brake cylinder, a pump, at least one wheel brake cylinder and a reservoir. Inlet and outlet valves are controlled to determine the rate of flow through sections of the pressure conduits. By influencing the rate of flow, a corresponding passage flow is supplied to or discharged from the master brake cylinder and the wheel brake cylinder, respectively, thereby permitting positioning of the master brake cylinder piston and control of the wheel rotating pattern.

  • Patent number: 5098173
Abstract: The pressure in the wheel brake of the system is controlled by an inlet valve 15 and an outlet valve 17 activated in response to the system controls. Fluid pressure from the pumps 13, is supplied to the wheel brake through the inlet valve 15, and discharged from the wheel brake through the outlet valve 17. By inserting a differential pressure limiter valve ahead of the inlet valve 15, the noise generated by the inlet valve is substantially reduced. A valve body 45 carries both the limiter valve seat and a discharge check valve seat, and respective closure balls 61, 62.

  • Patent number: 5099198
Abstract: A circuit configuration for monitoring the final stages of a plurality of valves, particularly the power transistors (LT1-LT4) and their circuitry, for defects as well as for leakage currents or by-path currents comprises a comparator circuit (1), an OR-link (2) and of a further comparator element (XOR4). By way of the monitoring circuit, the actuation connections (S1-S4) of electromagnetically operable valves are connected to a sole output (A3). By applying short test pulses to the actuation inputs (E1-E4) of the final stages (LT1-LT4) and by comparing the signal variation at the output (A3) with the test pulse variation defects, leakage currents and the like are detected.

  • Patent number: 5095805
Abstract: A vacuum brake power booster, in particular for motor vehicles, which includes a poppet valve (12) sealing two valve seats (18, 19) and which is axially deformable within the area of a rolling fold (15) also includes an annular part which is either mounted on the outside of the rolling fold (15) in a form-fit manner or arranged inside the elastic material (24) of the poppet valve (12). This annular part prevents the rolling fold (15) from being blown up outwardly due to the pressure differential prevailing between its two sides so that it will be possible to reduce the return force and thus also the response force.

  • Patent number: 5096268
Abstract: Hydraulic brake systems are known wherein, for the purpose of brake control, a counterforce is built up in the booster (60) for actuation of the master brake cylinder which results in unloading the master brake cylinder. What is disadvantageous in the known system is that this counterforce also resets the pedal (pedal piston 3) so that vehement pedal movements will result from the control action. Therefore, our present invention suggests to interpose a transmission device (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) between the pedal and the actuator (booster) enabling to decouple actuator and pedal.

  • Patent number: 5096267
Abstract: A brake valve for a vacuum brake force booster, wherein the valve body (33) is movably located on the pedal piston (32). The valve body, through two springs (35, 39) is held in a central position in which the brake pedal and pedal piston may move the valve body between booster deactivated and deactivated positions. Two electromagnets (37, 40) are provided which draw the valve body (33) both in the actuating direction and against the actuating direction. In this manner, the valve (17) can be actuated independently of the pedal force, to either release or apply braking pressure as for automatic antislip or traction control.

  • Patent number: 5094599
Abstract: A radial piston pump for a brake system in automotive vehicles. The resulting system produces little noise and is split up into various circuits. The resulting system provides damping of the pressure vibrations caused by the pump pistons. The individual channels are furnished with permanently allocated damping chambers.
