  • Patent number: 5060198
Abstract: Between a bit line decoder and the memory of an integrated circuit, there is interposed a gate circuit which is cascade-connected with a logic block of the integrated circuit. This arrangement makes possible the structural testing of the integrated circuit. Structural testing means to read and check the response given on the outputs of the logic blocks for a given state imposed on its inputs. This arrangement results in a reduction of the space required on the integrated circuit for testing, when compared with other solutions, which require specific connection circuits. This arrangement is particularly adapted to integrated circuits with a memory and with decoders that provide access to the memory. The arrangement will find particular application in the testing of memory cards where EPROM or EEPROM circuits are used.

  • Patent number: 5054400
Abstract: A projectile with rear and front sections able to deliver payloads of submunitions contained inside the projectile after separation of the rear from the front section. The rear section is fitted with an assembly of thin blades. When both sections are assembled, the blades are partially in the rear section and partially in the front section, and when the two sections are separated, the blades spread out. The assembly is such that the length of blade that spreads out is greater than the length of blade that was in the front section before separation of the two section.

  • Patent number: 5055833
Abstract: A control method and control circuit for an electro-optic matrix screen wherein: a) during a frame time period, and during the control of certain lines, the screen is controlled by voltages of a determined polarity; b) during the same frame time period, and during the control of the other lines, the screen is controlled by voltages of reverse polarity; and c) during the following frame time period, the control voltages is reversed. An inverter control circuit C.INV enables the inversion of the voltages given by input circuits INV, IN, ADD.C to the column electrodes, and by an addressing circuit ADD.C to the line electrodes. The invention can be applied to the control of liquid crystal display panels to eliminate display faults.

  • Patent number: 5053777
Abstract: The measurement of the stability of a radar in transmission/reception includes two steps. During a first step, video voltage signals leaving a phase detector of the radar receiver are measured at significant instants where said signals are capable of undergoing fluctuations. These signals come from a signal reflected by a fixed target and received by the radar. During a second step, an additional signal with pre-determined phase and amplitude is superimposed on the received signal in the receiver, in order to substantially cancel the stable parts of the voltage signals and to measure the fluctuations of the voltage signals thus obtained at said significant instants. The instrument to measure these fluctuations advantageously includes analog/digital converters with a small number of bits.

  • Patent number: 5049125
Abstract: A liquid-injection instrument without needle comprises an elongated body in two separable parts placed end to end. The first, so-called medical part, comprises at least one cavity receiving a liquid-tight cell which contains the injection liquid and has a movable base which, when displaced, forces liquid from the cell towards at least one variable-volume dosing chamber in the medical part. This communicates with a nozzle provided with an injector capable of forming a narrow jet of liquid following forcible expulsion of liquid from the dosing chamber. The second, so-called motor part, comprises a pneumatically controlled mobile assembly which effects alternating movements. The mobile assembly comprises a working piston (52-233-420) and a control and propulsion spring (62-241-444) which acts on the piston when gradually compressed by the movement of a plunger (52-276-445) caused by the pressure of the compressed air in a gas-tight chamber (51-287) in the body.

  • Patent number: 5049899
Abstract: A high resolution printing method is disclosed, implemented in a printer in which a continuous ink jet is broken up into drops (G) in a charging electrode (6) where they are selectively charged electrostatically, said drops then pass between deflection electrodes (9), the appearance of a satellite drop (Sn) from a main drop is caused by application of an appropriate voltage in the charging electrode during formation of said main drop and the coalescence of a satellite drop thus formed intended for printing with the following main drop is prevented, also by application of a voltage to the charging electrode during the formation of said main drop.

  • Patent number: 5049893
Abstract: This distributor relates to radar antennas. It is used notably for making multiple-beam antennas. It is of the optical Blass matrix type. It has a horn-shaped guide with two energy leading-in central strips that radiate directly in space by means of excitation obstacles which are cylindrical studs arranged in pairs on the inner surfaces of the side walls to obtain the desired directivity. By means of this distributor, it is possible to simultaneously achieve sum and difference patterns or again different directions of aim.

  • Patent number: 5045766
Abstract: A device for the electrical excitation of the coil or coils of an electromagnetic actuator, especially that of a linear motor, the coil of which has a low self-inductance. This coil is supplied by a bridge of transistors. The error between a reference voltage and a voltage proportional to the current in this coil is used to turn off a pair of transistors of the bridge, and simultaneously saturate a transistor of the other pair and make the other transistor work in linear mode. Two electronic switches and one sign discriminator are used to this end.

  • Patent number: 5041395
Abstract: The disclosure concerns the encapsulation of integrated circuit chips, notably with a view to their being incorporated in a chip card. The encapsulation method comprises the formation of a pre-punched metallic conductive grid, the formation of a strip of pre-perforated plastic material, the transfer of a strip to the grid, the positioning of an integrated circuit chip in a perforation of the strip, and the formation of electrical connections between the chip and zones of the grid located in perforations of the strip. The perforations of the strip and the punched slots of the grid are arranged so that the strip covers and blocks all the interstices between conductors of the grid in the useful region corresponding to a module to be made. When a protecting resin is laid, it is confined and does not leak through the interstices of the grid. A plastic or metal ring defines the heightwise dimension of the micromodule.

  • Patent number: 5036300
Abstract: The disclosure concerns the manufacture of integrated circuits and, more precisely, that of integrated circuits containing a signal processor. To be able to make a purely internal clock in an integrated circuit, wherein this clock does not require any external adjusting elements connected to terminals of the circuit, the clock is designed to include an internal oscillator, the frequency of which is adjustable by a register, it being possible for the register to be loaded by the processor. The frequency of the oscillator may be adjusted to compensate for the uncertainty over the natural frequency of the oscillator (which is subject to technological fluctuations). It may also be used to adjust the frequency as a function of an application or of the environment of the circuit. The contents of the register may come from a non-volatile memory containing individual data on the circuit.

  • Patent number: 5032763
Abstract: A trajectory correcting device for electron tubes comprises an auxiliary trajectory correcting means capable of creating a magnetic field that corrects the effects of azimuthal drift of the beam between a first disk and a second disk. This drift is due to the non-uniformity of the main field between the two disks. This means may include several coils, through which currents flow, placed in the vicinity of the disks or between them. The device can be applied to multibeam klystrons.
