  • Patent number: 6585958
Abstract: A pressure-liquefied propellant mixture for aerosols, comprising dinitrogen monoxide and a hydrofluoroalkane having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, in particular 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane and/or 1,1,1,2,3,3,3-heptafluoropropane, makes possible an improvement in the wetting properties of pharmaceutically active compounds, whereby the formulation problems existing with hydrofluoroalkanes can be overcome with respect to suspension and solution aerosols and thus improved medicinal aerosol formulations can be obtained. With the aid of dinitrogen monoxide, it is also possible to influence the pressure and thus the particle size distribution specifically and, by displacement of oxygen from the hydrofluoroalkanes, to improve the storage stability of oxidation-sensitive active compounds. If desired, the propellant mixture can additionally contain carbon dioxide.

  • Patent number: 6578478
Abstract: The electrostatic printing aid for gravure and flexographic printing machines can be operated with a voltage electrode whose dimensions have been reduced significantly, the print quality being kept at a high level. The voltage electrode, connected to a high voltage source, can be constructed with a bar-like or arc-like shape and to be non-contacting, or as a slip ring or as an electrically conductive brush. The voltage electrode is preferably arranged at one end of the three-layer impression roller of a gravure printing unit or the three-layer printing plate cylinder of a flexographic printing unit. The particular advantages of the arrangement reside in the significantly improved ease of servicing and the saving in costs, as early as at the time of purchase, in particular in the event of retrofitting printing machines already in operation.

  • Patent number: 6557939
Abstract: The adjustment mechanism contains a pneumatic spring that is placed vertically in the underframe, for adjusting height, and a pneumatic spring that is linked to the seat support at one end and the back-rest at the other, for synchronized adjustment of the angle. The pivotable back-rest and the fixed seat support are coupled with each other on the main rotational axis in two hinge connections. The main rotational axis runs above and crosswise over the seat plate. The seat plate has guide cranks on its underside, the supporting arms of the seat support engaging is said guide cranks in such a way that they can slide crosswise to the main rotational axis. The front bearing pegs of the supporting arms engage in the guide cranks. The seat plate is coupled together with the inclination spring on the moving rotational axis on the back-rest. The invention also relates to a back cover with a variably positionable lumbar reinforcement insert and height-adjustable armrests.

  • Patent number: 6558632
Abstract: An apparatus for providing temperature control and agitation to a plurality of reaction vessels comprises a plurality of elastic receptacles on a block, each receptacle supporting a reaction vessel below its neck, and, a plurality of elastic couplings, each coupling retaining a reaction vessel at its neck section. A flow channel is provided within the block to transfer a liquid temperature control medium to the reaction vessels. The flow channel is routed to each receptacle individually, thereby supplying the medium directly to the corresponding reaction vessel. A shaking arrangement is provided to agitate the reaction vessels by moving the receptacles horizontally relative to the couplings. The greatest deflection of each reaction vessel occurs at its base, while the neck sections are subjected to slight movement.
