  • Patent number: 7013457
Abstract: A computer system has an input system and an output system. Program code to be debugged has a plurality of program code statements. The input system is utilized to indicate an error variable in the program code. The error variable has an error value that differs from a desired value. An error set of the error variable is obtained, which is a subset of the statements in the computer readable code. Each statement in the error set is relationally connected to the error variable. A priority value is given to each statement in the error set. The priority values indicate a computed probability that the associated statement is an error source of the error variable. Finally, the output system is used to present each statement in the error set in an ordered manner according to the priority values.

  • Patent number: 7005884
Abstract: Monitoring apparatus is for monitoring a parameter, such as a drive current to a motor. Motor current flows through a series resistor which provides a voltage signal which varies in response to variations in the motor current. An analysis circuit is operable to analyze the rate of change of the voltage and to provide an alarm signal in the event that the rate of change continues in excess of predetermined rate for a period in excess of a predetermined time. The alarm signal could, for example, be used to indicate that an automatic door being driven by the motor has been blocked by a person or object which could be injured or damaged.

  • Patent number: 6998863
Abstract: A test head for a semiconductor integrated circuit tester, the test head includes a housing, a backplane structure attached to the housing in a manner permitting pivotal movement of the backplane structure relative to the housing, and a latch mechanism for forcing the backplane structure towards its closed position. The latch mechanism includes a cam follower that projects from the backplane structure in a direction perpendicular to the axis of pivotal movement of the backplane structure, a cam plate that is attached to the housing and is moveable relative to the housing and is formed with a cam slot for receiving the cam follower, and a drive mechanism effective to drive the cam plate to move relative to the housing. In the event that the cam follower is located in the working region of the cam slot, movement of the cam member in one direction urges the backplane structure towards the closed position and movement in the opposite direction urges the backplane structure away from the closed position.

  • Patent number: 6996032
Abstract: A BIST circuit for an IC measures the time delay a rising or falling edge experiences as it passes through a signal path within the IC. A strobe circuit within the BIST circuit generates edges in two signals A and B in delayed response to edges of a STROBE signal. A path probe generates a signal C edge at the signal path input in response to each signal A edge. The STROBE-to-B edge delay within the strobe generator is iteratively adjusted to determine a first delay for which the path probe detects the B and C signal edges at nearly the same time and thereafter iteratively adjusted to determine a second delay for which the path probe detects the B and D signal edges at nearly the same time. The first delay is measured by causing the strobe signal generator to produce a periodic signal having a period proportional to the first delay and counting the number of cycles of a reference clock occurring during K cycles of the periodic signal. The second delay is measured in a similar manner.

  • Patent number: 6995689
Abstract: A system for monitoring an aircraft receives navigation signals and deriving a position vector therefrom and also receives an input representative of altitude of the aircraft above ground level. The system samples the position vector at a selected sample rate and outputs a succession of samples of the position vector, the sample rate depending on whether the altitude of the aircraft above ground level is less than a predetermined value. Data packets that contain respective samples of the position vector are transmitted to a ground-based receiving station. The ground-based receiving station may calculate secondary data.

  • Patent number: 6985840
Abstract: Described herein is a system for verifying that a circuit described by a hardware description language file has a property of responding to an antecedent event represented by a particular pattern in its input signals by exhibiting a consequent behavior of producing a particular pattern in its output signals during a finite time following the antecedent event. The system includes a conventional circuit simulator for simulating the behavior of the circuit under conditions defined by a user-provided test bench. The simulator produces output waveform data representing the behavior of the circuit input, output and internal signals, including signals representing the circuit's state. When the output waveform data indicates the antecedent event has occurred, the system determines the current state of the circuit from the waveform data.

  • Patent number: 6979994
Abstract: A power supply device for an installation for testing electronic components. The power supply device includes a first, high-frequency, supply source, a second, low-frequency, supply source, and a control module. The first, high-frequency, supply source includes a high-frequency amplification stage capable of outputting a first current (i1) for a first time interval. The second, low-frequency, supply source has a low-frequency amplification stage capable of outputting a second current (i2) for a second time interval, the second time interval being longer than the first time interval. The control module is adapted to selectively activate either the first source and then the second source, thereby outputting a current of the order of i1 for a time interval greater than the first time interval or only the first source, thereby outputting a current of the order of i1 for a time interval less than or equal to the first time interval. The control module responds to the needs of an electronic component under test.

  • Patent number: 6980211
Abstract: A netlist of a schematic diagram is generated. The netlist indicates the connectivity of components through connection lines. A normal display mode is provided in which at least a portion of the components are presented on the display, and connection lines corresponding to the components are also displayed. A topology display mode is provided in which the components are presented on the display without the connection lines. The user can switch between the topology display mode and the normal display mode while editing the schematic diagram. Automatic pin assignment and routing of the connection lines is performed according to the netlist, and is based upon grouping similarly classified connection lines. An abstract display mode is provided that presents abstract lines for a selected component, with a single abstract line running between two connected components. The abstract display mode is combinable with the topology display mode.
