Abstract: A network switch port includes a cell memory, a queuing system, a data path controller and an output buffer. The data path controller stores incoming cells derived from network data transmissions in the cell memory. The queuing system generates the cell memory address of each stored cell when the cell is to be forwarded from the cell memory, and the data path controller appends the cell memory address of that cell to a linked list of addresses of cells to be forwarded from the memory. When the linked list is not empty, the data path controller forwards cells from the cell memory to the output buffer in the order that their cell memory addresses were appended to the linked list. The output buffer stores and then sequentially forwards the cells outward from the switch port to a receiving network component which store them in a cell buffer until it can forward them elsewhere.
Abstract: An interface structure for use in a semiconductor integrated circuit tester for connecting a test head interface to a DUT interface includes a first frame member having first and second opposite main faces, a second frame member having first and second opposite main faces, and a spacer securing the first and second frame members together in spaced relationship. A first cable assembly header is received in an aperture of the first frame member and includes a conductive element and electrically conductive terminal members exposed at a main face of the first frame member and electrically insulated from the conductive element of the first header. A second cable assembly header is received in an aperture of the second frame member and includes a conductive element and electrically conductive terminal members exposed at a main face of the second frame member and electrically insulated from the conductive element of the second header.

Abstract: A barge unit includes LNG receptacle and a first power generation apparatus including a first combustion engine that is operated at least partly by LNG boil-off gas and a first generator that is driven by the first combustion engine. A tug unit includes a propulsion system and a second power generation apparatus for providing power to the propulsion system. In a first operating mode of the barge and tug units the tug unit is connected to the barge unit for propelling the barge unit and the propulsion system of the tug unit is powered at least partly by the first power generation apparatus.
Abstract: An image recording apparatus for processing an image includes a camera (10), or other optical sensor means, for recording a first digital optical image of at least part of a scene illuminated by an illuminant light and for recording a second digital optical image of at least a part of substantially the same scene under substantially the same illuminant light. The images may be recorded on respectively different sensor arrays (12a and 12b). The light producing the first and second images undergoes different optical processing in order to produce those images, and processing means (18) in communication with the optical sensor means is provided for processing information relating to the first and second images. By relating the two images, the processing means (18) is able to provide information regarding the color of the illuminate light or other physical properties of the illuminated scene.
Abstract: A semiconductor integrated circuit tester includes a housing having a main housing wall formed with an opening. A tester interface unit is located partially in the housing and incorporates an electrical connector segment that extends partially from the main housing wall for engaging an electrical connector segment of a device interface unit. A pusher member is located partially within the housing and is movable relative to the main housing wall between an extended position and a retracted position. In the extended position the pusher member projects from the opening in the main housing wall. An actuator is accessible at the exterior of the housing and is coupled to the pusher member for moving the pusher member between its retracted position and its extended position.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of producing a three-dimensional knit, i.e. a knit whose area is shaped spatially. In accordance with the invention a homogeneously tough three-dimensional knit structure is achieved when loops in specific portions are widened and/or narrowed, this widening/narrowing of the loops being done at many locations arranged distributed homogeneously over the area to be formed three-dimensionally. In the same way a three-dimensional knit may be produced in which the knitting needles are inactivated at least in part over at least one course in the portion to be shaped and later reactivated while in the other portions full knitting is continued.

Abstract: A welded structure is formed by arranging multiple pieces on a three-dimensional support base to provide an assembly in accordance with the structure to be welded and making a picture map of the assembly by photographing the assembly. Weld points are identified from the picture map and welding parameters are determined from the picture map. Control data specifying the weld points and welding parameters are supplied to welding equipment that is operable in a three-dimensional X-Y-Z coordinate system. The welding equipment is moved in the X-Y plane on the basis of the picture map and said control data. The welding equipment is moved along the Z-axis on the basis of Z-axis position data that are acquired by repeatedly measuring the Z-axis position of the support base.
Abstract: A circuit simulator simulates a circuit described by a circuit logic model as having a set of clocked registers interconnected by un-clocked logic to produce waveform data indicating states of each circuit input signal and of each register output signal as functions of clock signal edge timing. The waveform data and the logic model are then processed to produce a temporal schema model characterizing the circuit's logic and behavior. A display based on the temporal schema model depicts circuit behavior using separate symbols to represent successive circuit input signal states and register output signal states at various times during the simulation. The same display also graphically depicts fan-in or fan-out logical relationships by which circuit input signal states and register output signal states influence register input signal states.

Abstract: A method of screening for possible onset of sepsis in a patient includes providing the patient with a transducer that automatically and periodically measures a first physiological parameter of the patient and transmits a first signal that is encoded with the measured parameter value, and receiving the first signal and automatically comparing the measured parameter value with at least one alarm limit. The first physiological parameter is body temperature, heart rate, respiration rate or a clinical indicator of sepsis. A conditional warning signal is asserted in the event that the measured parameter value bears a predetermined relationship to said alarm limit and an alarm signal is issued in the event that a physiological condition other than the condition that gave rise to the conditional warning signal is indicative of onset of sepsis.
Abstract: The optical system as described achieves retinal display of video images at a viewing angle of approx. 60° by a monochromatic or color mixture of laser beams. Retinal display is either direct or by beaming a scattering screen, whereby the display can be superimposed with an image of a 60° field of view. In video image display a convergent beam of light is focussed on the retina with the aid of a partly transparent planoconcave mirror. The system features an extremely high resolution limited only by the eyesight of the viewer and the diffraction of the display light beam as dictated merely by the divergence and cross-section of the light beam.
Abstract: Diffusion effects during an IC fabrication process cause actual dimensions of adjacent conductors in an IC to vary from nominal dimensions specified by data defining the IC layout. A computer-aided design tool processes the layout data to generate a separate database for each layer of the IC, including a separate table corresponding to each grid line of that layer. Each table includes a separate table entry corresponding to each conductor to reside along the table's corresponding grid line, each table entry indicating nominal dimensions and position of its corresponding conductor. The tool sorts grid line tables within each layer's database in an order in which their corresponding grid lines are arranged on that layer, and sorts entries in each table in an order in which their corresponding conductors are to appear along the table's corresponding grid line.

Abstract: In order to synchronise video and audio signals, a video test signal and an audio test signal are generated at the transmitting end of a transmission link, and transmitted over the link. The video test signal has first and second active picture periods of contrasting states. The audio test signal has first and second periods of contrasting states. As generated, the video and audio test signals have a predetermined timing relationship—for example, their changes of respective states may be coincident in time. At the receiving end of the link, the video and audio test signals as received are detected, and any difference of timing between the video and audio test signals is derived from their changes of respective states, measured and displayed, including an indication of whether the video signal arrived before the audio signal or vice-versa.
