    Abstract: A process for the preparation of a phosphoric acid propargyl ester of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently is an aryl radical or a C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, C.sub.1-4 -alkenyl or C.sub.1-4 -alkynyl radical, andX, Y and Z each independently is oxygen or sulphur, comprising reacting a phosphoric acid monoester chloride or diester chloride with at least the equivalent amount of propargyl alcohol in a two-phase system in the presence of an inorganic base as an acid-trapping agent, and a catalyst comprising about 0.001 to 100 mol %, relative to the phosphoric acid ester chloride, of a tertiary amine or quaternary ammonium or phosphonium salt with at least 9 C atoms. Advantageously the catalyst is present in about 0.01 to 10 mol % relative to the phosphoric acid ester chloride and is a tertiary amine or quaternary ammonium salt, X, Y and Z are oxygen, R.sup.1 is propargyl and R.sup.2 is C.sub.

    Abstract: An apparatus for the oxidative combustion of harmful gases by means of a burner is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a vertically disposed cooling jacket provided with a coolant inlet and coolant outlet which surrounds a combustion chamber. The combustion chamber is connected to and in gaseous communication with a condenser disposed therebeneath. A flushing device is provided in fluid communication with these components, the same being disposed above the combustion chamber and in gaseous communication therewith. A burner is disposed above the flushing device. An electrical igniter is disposed between the flushing device and the burner.

    Abstract: Aluminum foil labels for bottles are disclosed which have on both sides a colorless or colored coating provided with an imprint on the outside, if desired, the aluminum foil label being adapted to cover the closure and part of the bottle--neck and to be affixed thereto with the aid of a glue which is soluble in an alkaline cleaning liquor. In accordance with the invention the coating comprises a varnish coating which is insoluble in the alkaline cleaning liquor. The coating can have mutually opposite weak areas which can consist of uncoated stripes. Also disclosed are bottles comprising a bottle body to which is attached such aluminum foil coated on both sides thereof with a varnish coating which is insoluble in an alkaline cleaning liquor. The insoluble varnish coating defines open areas which are opposed from open areas on the opposed insoluble varnish coating.

    Abstract: A process for reducing an ore which comprises:(A) gasifying a solid carbonaceous granular fuel by contacting the same in a fixed bed with oxygen and steam at a pressure of 5 to 50 bars;(B) subjecting the gas produced from said gasification to shift conversion in order to reduce the residual carbon monoxide content to 1 to 10 percent by volume of dry gas(C) scrubbing the gaseous shift conversion gas to remove sulfur compounds and to reduce the CO.sub.2 content to no more than 3 percent by volume whereby to provide a scrubbed gas containing more than 70 percent by volume hydrogen and carbon monoxide which gas contains more than 10 percent by volume methane(D) admixing the so scrubbed gas with reduction process exhaust gas formed by reduction of ore(E) reforming the resultant mixture of gases at a pressure of 1.5-10 bars a temperature of 800.degree. to 1500.degree. C.; and(F) feeding at least a portion of such gas containing up to 3 percent by volume CO.sub.2 and 5 percent by volume methane at 700.degree.-1000.
