Abstract: A method and apparatus of estimating a location of a subscriber are disclosed. One method includes receiving a request for the location of the subscriber. The subscriber's serving base station, and a plurality of neighboring base stations sensed by the subscriber, are identified. The subscriber obtains a time delay from the serving base. The subscriber estimates a distance between the subscriber and the serving base station. The subscriber receives frames and estimates a delta time for each of the selected neighboring base stations for the subscriber to synchronize to each of the selected neighboring base stations. The subscriber estimates distances between the subscriber and each of the selected neighboring base. The subscriber location is estimated by trilateration of the distance between the subscriber and the serving base station, and the distances between the subscriber and each of the selected neighboring base stations.

Abstract: Methods and systems for testing a software program are provided. The methods include receiving a textual input for testing at least one static type used by the software program. The textual input of an embodiment is pre-linked to the at least one static type. The method includes creating a dynamic type based on the textual input in a dynamically typed language. The dynamic type is populated based on a predefined set of test vectors and is then passed on to the software program. The software program is executed using the dynamic type. Executing the software program by using the dynamic type invokes the at least one static type used by the software program.

Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed to increase a breakdown voltage of a semiconductor device. The semiconductor device includes an enhanced well region to effectively increase a voltage at which punch-through occurs when compared to a conventional semiconductor device. The enhanced well region includes a greater number of excess carriers when compared to a well region of the conventional semiconductor device. These larger number of excess carriers attract more carriers allowing more current to flow through a channel region of the semiconductor device before depleting the enhanced well region of the carriers. As a result, the semiconductor device may accommodate a greater voltage being applied to its drain region before the depletion region of the enhanced well region and a depletion region of a well region surrounding the drain region merge into a single depletion region.
Abstract: The invention relates to a procedure for linking cognate pairs of VH and VL encoding sequences from a population of cells enriched in particular surface antigen markers. The linking procedure involves a multiplex molecular amplification procedure capable of linking nucleotide sequences of interest in connection with the amplification, in particular polymerase chain reaction (multiplex PCR). The method is particularly advantageous for the generation of cognate pair libraries as well as combinatorial libraries of variable region encoding sequences from immunoglobulins. The invention also relates to methods for generation of chimeric human/non-human antibodies and expression libraries generated by such methods.

Abstract: Various aspects of a method and a system for a range reduction scheme for user selection in a multiuser MIMO downlink transmission are presented. Aspects of a system for range reduction may comprise a range reduction processor that determines a plurality of channel measurements corresponding to a plurality of signals. The range reduction processor may compute a plurality of channel capacities based on the channel measurements corresponding to a subset of the plurality of signals having channel gain that is greater than a remaining portion of the plurality of signals. Aspects of a method may comprise determining a plurality of channel measurements corresponding to a plurality of signals, and computing a plurality of channel capacities based on said channel measurements corresponding to a subset of the plurality of signals having a channel gain that is greater than a remaining portion of the plurality of signals.

Abstract: The present invention refers to recombinant antibodies of human origin specific for the C5 component of the activated complement and characterized by the ability to inhibit the conversion of the C5 alpha chain to C5a and C5b. Moreover the present invention refers to the nucleotide sequences coding for such antibodies and to the therapeutic use of both polypeptide and nucleotide sequences, in particular for the therapy of diseases involving tissue damage deriving from uncontrolled activation of the complement system.
Abstract: Embodiments for space-time coding are disclosed. One method includes establishing a priority for each of a plurality of data streams. A number of data bits for each of the plurality of data streams are allocated. A desired signal quality for each of the plurality of data streams is determined based on the corresponding priority. Each of the plurality of data streams are modulated according to the allocated number of data bits of each of the plurality of data streams. A space-time code is selected for each of the plurality of data streams based at least partially on the desired signal quality for each of the plurality of data streams, wherein at least one of the space-time codes is at least one of a vector or a matrix. Each of the modulated data streams are space-time coded with the selected space-time code. The space-time coded modulated data streams are summed, and transmitted.
