  • Patent number: 7161958
Abstract: In a base station apparatus 102, when an IGMP control message is contained in a variable-length packet in which is indicated the destination for performing communication in one-to-one or one-to-multiple mode with mobile station apparatuses 106-1 through 106-3, the IGMP control message is mapped onto a fixed-length short packet that is shorter than a fixed-length packet used in communication with mobile station apparatuses 106-1 through 106-3, and also, a variable-length packet is mapped onto a fixed-length packet and a frame signal is composed from this fixed-length packet and the short packet, and is transmitted. In mobile station apparatuses 106-1 through 106-3, the frame signal is decomposed and the variable-length packet and short packet are extracted, the IGMP control message is extracted from the short packet and mapped onto another variable-length packet, and both variable-length packets are multiplexed.

  • Patent number: 7162206
Abstract: Test apparatus 100 judges a test item, and when carrying out a radio transmission characteristics test, communicates layer 3 signals with mobile terminal apparatus 150 to implement radio connection over CDMA radio interface and transmit a measurement signal. In transmitting the measurement signal, mobile terminal RLC control section 109 notifies RLC section 152 of suspension of transmission of a signaling signal, and based on the notification, RLC section 152 suspends transmission of a signaling signal and transmits only the measurement signal. It is thereby possible to carry out the radio transmission characteristics test with constant transmission power without providing the mobile terminal apparatus with a function only required for the radio transmission characteristics test.

  • Patent number: 7161895
Abstract: An OFDM-CDMA transmission apparatus may include a first spreader that carries out spreading processing on a plurality of transmission signals using different spreading codes, respectively. A second spreader carries out spreading processing on at least one known signal using a spreading code different from the spreading codes employed by the first spreader. A frequency division multiplexer breaks down the transmission signals spread by the first spreader and the known signal spread by the second spreader into individual chips and subjects these chips to frequency division multiplexing, thereby assigning one chip data signal string per subcarrier. The frequency division multiplexer operates such that information from each of the plurality of transmission signals and the known signal is multiplexed into every chip assigned to a different subcarrier. After the chips are assigned to the subcarriers, they are transmitted by a transmitter.

  • Patent number: 7157985
Abstract: First and second calibration signals (308, 309) are sent to a frequency divider (102) and an adder (116) of a PLL section (100A), demodulated in a demodulator (111), filtered through a low pass filter (113) and a high pass filter (114) and thereafter sent to a modulation signal control circuit (115). The modulation signal control circuit (115) generates control information (318) in comparison with the phase and amplitude of the first and second calibration signals (308 and 309) and sends the control information (318) to a modulation control signal generator (106). Modulation control signal generator (106) holds the control information (318) and controls the values of the first modulation signal and second modulation signal sent to the frequency divider (102) and adder (116) on the based on the control information (318) held in modulation operation.

  • Patent number: 7155170
Abstract: A retransmission request signal creation section (119) outputs an ACK signal or NACK signal to a NACK signal counting section (120) based on the result of error detection by an error detection section (118), the NACK signal counting section (120) counts, for each communication mode, the number of NACK signals output (that is, the number of data retransmissions) before an ACK signal is output from the retransmission request signal creation section (119), and a table rewriting section (121) compares the number of retransmissions counted by the NACK signal counting section (120) with a predetermined threshold value for the number of retransmissions, and rewrites the contents of a communication mode table (102) based on the result of this comparison.

  • Patent number: 7155643
Abstract: A semiconductor integrated circuit includes a memory which has redundant lines for repair in both a column direction and a row direction. A test pattern generating section generates a specific test pattern for the memory. A comparing section reads an output from the memory to judge whether or not a fault cell exists in the memory and outputs a signal which shows existence or nonexistence of a faulty cell. The circuit includes a first data storage section, which operates in a first test mode for a test of the memory and a second test mode for a scan test, and a second data storage section which receives an output signal of the comparing section to store a state of presence or absence of a failure corresponding to the existence or nonexistence of the faulty cell. A repair judging section receives an input to the first data storage section and an output of retained contents in the first data storage section and judges that the memory is repairable.

  • Patent number: 7154961
Abstract: An ARQ (re-) transmission method of transmitting data in a wireless communication system wherein data packets are transmitted from a transmitter to a receiver, using a first transmission and a second transmission based on a repeat request. The method comprises the steps of modulating data at the transmitter using a first signal constellation pattern to obtain a first data symbol. The first data symbol is transmitted as the first transmission to the receiver using a first diversity branch. Further, the data is modulated at the transmitter using a second signal constellation pattern to obtain a second data symbol. Then, the second data symbol is transmitted as the second transmission to the receive over a second diversity branch. Finally, the received first and second data symbol data symbol are diversity combined at the receiver. The invention further relates to a transmitter and a receiver embodied to carry out the method of the invention.

  • Patent number: 7151704
Abstract: Provided are a memory cell array, a column gate array, a row decoder, a column decoder, a sense amplifier array, a read data bus, an output buffer, and a redundancy discrimination signal bus. In the case of redundancy replacement, the output buffer outputs read data excluding the read data of a memory cell block serving as an object of redundancy replacement. In the case of no redundancy replacement, the output buffer outputs read data excluding the read data of a redundant memory cell block. Then, the read data excluded by the output buffer is provided to the output buffer as an output enable signal. The transition timing of the read data excluded by the output buffer is set to be later than that of the other read data.

  • Patent number: 7152198
Abstract: A coding/decoding technique capable of increasing the error correcting decoding performance and improving the communication quality. This technique divides, through code block segmentation prior to error correcting coding, transmission data with CRC-bit added into a predetermined number of code blocks so that the data length of each code block is an integer multiple of the data length of each transport block and ensures that CRC-bit exists at the end of each code block. Then, the technique performs error correcting coding on each code block after the division.

  • Patent number: RE39447
Abstract: An optical disc apparatus for recording, reproducing or erasing an information signal by converging a light flux onto a recording layer through a transparent substrate. The apparatus includes one or a plurality of optical heads having a plurality of objective lenses whose aberrations have respectively been corrected for a plurality of disc substrates of different thicknesses, a cartridge for enclosing the optical disc, a discrimination hole which is formed on the cartridge, and a sensor for detecting the opening/closing state of the discrimination hole and for generating a discrimination signal. In accordance with the result of the discrimination as to the thickness of the loaded optical disc, the objective lens, in which the occurrence of the aberration is smallest, is used, so that the information signal can preferably be recorded, reproduced or erased onto/from the optical discs having different substrate thicknesses.
