Abstract: Techniques for detecting adjacent channel interference (ACI) in a wireless communication system are described. Input inphase (I) and quadrature (Q) samples are filtered with a first filter response to obtain filtered I and Q samples. The first filter response is designed to pass signal in an adjacent frequency channel while suppressing signals in a desired frequency channel and non-adjacent frequency channels. Correlations of the filtered I and Q samples are determined. The presence of ACI is detected based on the correlations of the filtered I and Q samples and the power of the input I and Q samples. If ACI is present, then whether the ACI is from a higher frequency channel or a lower frequency channel is determined based on one or more of the correlations. The input I and Q samples are filtered with a second filter response that is adjusted based on the detection of ACI.

The stake installation tool further includes a stake retention assembly including a retention body, which contains a retention passageway. There is a flexible holder connected to the retention body. The head of the stake is received within the retention passageway and the flexible holder engages the head of the stake to operatively retain the stake.
Abstract: System and method for transmitting data to a remote communication device to achieve desirable transmit data block size and data rate based on measurements of the communication link quality to the remote device. The method entails selecting an initial transmit data rate and power based on an initial measurement of the link quality, and a default size for the transmit data block. The data block is then transmitted to the remote, and an acknowledgement (ACK) message is received from the remote. If the ACK message indicates that the data block was properly received, the size for the next data block to be transmitted is increased. Otherwise, the size for the next data block may be decreased or remain the same. Additionally, the transmit data rate may be increased if the remote properly receives a defined number of consecutive data blocks, or decreased if the remote does not receive a defined number of consecutive data blocks.
Abstract: An improved cage nut assembly is comprised of a cage, a pair of slots, a nut, a flange and a strip. The cage has four walls which form a four sided enclosure. Each of a pair of opposing walls contains a slot. The flange extends from the nut such that its planar surface is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the nut. The flange and the nut have a common opening for receiving a bolt. The strip is attached to the nut and the flange. The strip is inserted into the slots to suspend the nut within the cage. The walls and the flange are shaped to limit rotation of the flange. The nut floats in two dimensions. The nut and the flange may be removed through the bottom of the cage.

The device may be a receiver having a wireless interface configured to receive combined first and second signals, the first signal having data in a first frequency band and the second signal having data in a second frequency band wider than the first frequency band, wherein the first frequency band is within the second frequency band. The receiver may also be a processing system configured to recover the data in the first signal from the combined first and second signals.
Abstract: A system for the audio lead through of a visually impaired user of a self-service terminal employs near field communication techniques to transfer connection data required for the establishment of a Bluetooth connection between the self-service terminal and a remote audio output device. Once a Bluetooth connection is established audio files containing instructions on how to execute a transaction on the self-service terminal are transferred from the self-service terminal to the audio output device such that the user can hear audio files when played.

Abstract: Techniques for generating reference signals in a wireless communication system are described. A set of Q reference signal sequences may be generated based on G pseudo-random sequences and L scrambling sequences, where Q=G·L, G>1 and L>1. The Q reference signal sequences may be used for Q cell identities (IDs), one reference signal sequence for each cell ID. In one design, a Node B may determine first and second indices based on a cell ID of a cell. The Node B may generate a pseudo-random sequence based on the first index, generate a scrambling sequence based on the second index, and generate a reference signal sequence based on the pseudo-random sequence and the scrambling sequence. The Node B may then generate a reference signal for the cell based on the reference signal sequence, e.g., by generating an OFDM symbol with the reference signal sequence mapped to a set of subcarriers.

Abstract: A discrete-time operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) with large gain and large output signal swing is described. In an exemplary design, the discrete-time OTA includes a clocked comparator and an output circuit. The clocked comparator receives an input voltage and provides a digital comparator output. The output circuit receives the digital comparator output and provides current pulses. The output circuit detects for changes in the sign of the input voltage based on the digital comparator output and reduces the amplitude of the current pulses when a change in the sign of the input voltage is detected. The output circuit also generates the current pulses to have a polarity that is opposite of the polarity of the input voltage. The discrete-time OTA may be used for switched-capacitor circuits and other applications.
