Abstract: A system is provided that includes a content management system, a controller, and an electronic display. The electronic display is integrated into an object, such as the packaging of a consumer product. The content management system sends instructions to the controller for determining content to display. The instructions depend in part on status information obtained by the controller from an external source. At least one instruction pertains to extended periods when the controller is unable to communicate with the content management system.

Abstract: A delay locked loop includes a delay amount setting unit configured to set a delay amount of an external clock signal, a coarse delay unit configured to primarily delay the external clock signal by the set delay amount based on a first unit duration which is a unit delay amount of the coarse delay unit; and a fine delay unit configured to secondarily finely delay the primarily delayed clock signal based on a second unit duration, which is a unit delay amount of the fine delay unit and smaller than the first unit duration.
Abstract: Parties involved in a transaction in an E-marketplace identify characteristics of a transaction that they are willing to accept and/or that they can provide. To do this, an attribute certificate is created for each party that contains the attributes of a buyer, seller, or third-party participant who will be transacting business in the particular E-marketplace. The attributes pertain to specifics of the transaction. The party submitting the attribute also identifies alternative conditions which, if they exist would be acceptable for conducting the transaction. Once these criteria, in the form of the attribute certificates, are received by the E-marketplace, the E-marketplace verifies the attributes. A server in the E-marketplace is configured to determine various combinations of participants that can match the deal criteria. In this manner, the E-marketplace “choreographs” the transaction to meet the needs of all.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for storing information in a storage device that includes multi-level memory cells. The method involves storing data that is written to the storage device in the LSBs of the multi-level memory cells, and storing audit data in the MSBs of the multi-level memory cells. The audit data can be read separately from the data and used to determine whether or not there has been any unintended drift between states in the multi-level cells. The audit data may be used to correct data when the errors in the data are too numerous to be corrected using error correction code (ECC). The audit data may also be used to monitor the general health of the storage device. The monitoring process may run as a background process on the storage device. The storage device may transition the multi-level memory cells to operate as single-level memory cells.

Abstract: A method, system and devices for enabling secure pairing between two communication devices equipped with a minimal user interface includes determining a verification pattern based upon security information exchanged between the two communication devices and presenting the verification pattern in a manner that can be perceived by a user who can determine whether the verification patterns are the same. The verification patterns may be presented as flashing light displays, such as flashing sequences of a light emitting diode, or as sounds, such as tones or click patterns emitted by a speaker. If a user perceives that the verification patterns emitted by both communication devices are the same, the user may so indicate by pressing a button on each of the devices. Obtaining such user confirmation of the verification patterns enables establishing a secure pairing between the two communication devices that is protected from active and passive eavesdropping.
Abstract: A semiconductor memory device includes a plurality of wordlines and a driver configured to, when an wordline of the plurality of wordlines is activated by an active command, drive at least one non-activated wordline neighboring the activated wordline and remaining non-activated wordlines with different wordline driving voltage levels during a period of time that the activated wordline is driven to a high voltage level.
Abstract: A transmission includes a controller that has a rapid-deceleration judge and a rapid-deceleration processor. The rapid-deceleration judge judges whether a vehicle is decelerating rapidly or not. The rapid-deceleration processor includes a torque-fluctuation inhibitor, and an after-rapid-deceleration change-speed stage anticipator. The torque-fluctuation inhibitor shuts off power transmission from a power source, or holds power transmission by way of a current change-speed stage or lower, when the vehicle is decelerating rapidly. The after-rapid-deceleration change-speed stage anticipator anticipates a subsequent change-speed stage being adapted for restarting or reaccelerating the vehicle that has come out of rapid deceleration.
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to techniques for video call setup in a mobile video telephony network. In general, the call setup techniques reduce call setup delays by preemptively retransmitting NSRP packets before expiration of the timeout period ordinarily required for receipt of an NSRP ACK packet from the remote terminal. The retransmitted NSRP packets may be retransmitted during idle periods in which the modem layer in the sending mobile terminal has received no other data for transmission of the remote mobile terminal, thereby taking advantage of idle bandwidth. Multiplex data received by the modem can be locally buffered at the modem layer for retransmission. In this manner, retransmission does not require regeneration of the original call setup messages nor multiplexing. Instead, the previously generated and multiplexed data is buffered at the modem layer for retransmission to reduce processing overhead within the mobile terminal.
Abstract: A monitoring system is provided for a moving conveyor belt having a plurality of embedded reinforcing cords and identification tags. A tag reader detects and identifies the identification tags passing by the tag reader while a belt monitor scans the cords to detect a plurality of magnetic reference points and a damage event of at least one cord. A control unit in communication with the belt monitor and the tag reader analyzes the belt monitor to identify the plurality of magnetic reference points and the damage event. The control unit also acquires a belt location on the moving conveyor belt from a belt map based on the detected and identified identification tag and a magnetic reference point from the plurality of magnetic reference points. When a damage event is identified, a location of the damage event is determined by the control unit based on the acquired belt location.
