  • Patent number: 6929597
Abstract: A closing device for a flap on an incubator hood or thermotherapy apparatus hood is equipped with flaps, which make access possible to the premature or newborn baby from the outside. A closing device for the flap (1) on an thermotherapy apparatus hood (3) is provided which guarantees reliable closing. A roller (9) at a second closing element (5) extends behind a first closing element (4). The roller (9) is mounted on an axle (8) with a clearance in a range of 1.5 mm to 2.0 mm in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the axle (8) extends, so that an undefined state of the closing device, in which the roller (9), though touching the first closing element (4), does not extend behind it, is avoided.

  • Patent number: 6929582
Abstract: A system is described for minimizing engine torque disturbances that would otherwise cause degraded drive feel by a vehicle driver. The system utilizes multiple torque transmission paths of a transaxle unit mounted to the engine. The system manipulates the torque transmitted by adjusting the clutches of multiple torque transmission paths so that the torque disturbance in the engine results in relatively constant vehicle drive torque. In one example, a potential torque increase due to variation in engine compression ratio is reduced using multiple paths of the transmission. In this way, relatively constant output torque can be maintained.

  • Patent number: 6929006
Abstract: A respirator with a tidal volume-measuring device (6) between a respiration bag (8) and a patient adapter (2) provides accurate metering of the tidal volume. The device includes a first pressure-measuring device (4) and a breathing gas interruptor (5) in series sequence between the patient adapter (2) and the tidal volume-measuring device (6). A second pressure-measuring device (7) is provided between the tidal volume-measuring device (6) and the respiration bag (8). A control unit (20) is connected with the tidal volume-measuring device (6) and the pressure-measuring devices (4, 7) and sends control signals in such a way that when a predetermined tidal volume is reached, the breathing gas interrupter (5) is switched to the closed position, and that the closed position is eliminated when the pressure p2 measured with the second pressure-measuring means (7) has dropped below the pressure p1 determined with the first pressure-measuring means (4).

  • Patent number: 6928806
Abstract: A system for effective NOx and particulate matter control in a diesel or other lean burn internal combustion engine is presented. The system includes a urea-based SCR catalyst having an oxidation catalyst coupled upstream of it and a particulate filter coupled downstream of the SCR catalyst. This system configuration results in improved NOx conversion due to fast SCR catalyst warm-up and higher operating temperatures. Additionally, placing the particulate filter last in this system configuration reduces tailpipe ammonia emissions as well as prevents any thermal damage to the SCR catalyst due to the particulate filter regeneration.

  • Patent number: 6925333
Abstract: The combination needle is intended for peripheral nerve block. It comprises a plastic cannula (1) and an essentially cylindrical, solid steel mandrel (10), which is provided with a pricking tip, which is free from a cutting edge, and with a grip part (11), which has an electric plug contact (21) for the connection of an electrostimulator. The steel mandrel (10) can be introduced into the cannula (1) such that its pricking tip (42) protrudes from the front end of the cannula or is at least flush with same. It shall be achieved with the present invention that the two [“bei der die beiden” in German original should read “die beiden”—Tr.Ed.] electrodes necessary for the electrostimulation are located at a very short distance from one another and the electric effects of the stimulation is [sic—Tr.Ed.] limited to the body area where the stimulation shall take place. The steel mandrel (10) therefore has a two-pole design and is provided with a two-pole electric plug contact means (21, 37).
