Abstract: A closing device for a flap on an incubator hood or thermotherapy apparatus hood is equipped with flaps, which make access possible to the premature or newborn baby from the outside. A closing device for the flap (1) on an thermotherapy apparatus hood (3) is provided which guarantees reliable closing. A roller (9) at a second closing element (5) extends behind a first closing element (4). The roller (9) is mounted on an axle (8) with a clearance in a range of 1.5 mm to 2.0 mm in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the axle (8) extends, so that an undefined state of the closing device, in which the roller (9), though touching the first closing element (4), does not extend behind it, is avoided.
Abstract: A system is described for minimizing engine torque disturbances that would otherwise cause degraded drive feel by a vehicle driver. The system utilizes multiple torque transmission paths of a transaxle unit mounted to the engine. The system manipulates the torque transmitted by adjusting the clutches of multiple torque transmission paths so that the torque disturbance in the engine results in relatively constant vehicle drive torque. In one example, a potential torque increase due to variation in engine compression ratio is reduced using multiple paths of the transmission. In this way, relatively constant output torque can be maintained.
Abstract: A respirator with a tidal volume-measuring device (6) between a respiration bag (8) and a patient adapter (2) provides accurate metering of the tidal volume. The device includes a first pressure-measuring device (4) and a breathing gas interruptor (5) in series sequence between the patient adapter (2) and the tidal volume-measuring device (6). A second pressure-measuring device (7) is provided between the tidal volume-measuring device (6) and the respiration bag (8). A control unit (20) is connected with the tidal volume-measuring device (6) and the pressure-measuring devices (4, 7) and sends control signals in such a way that when a predetermined tidal volume is reached, the breathing gas interrupter (5) is switched to the closed position, and that the closed position is eliminated when the pressure p2 measured with the second pressure-measuring means (7) has dropped below the pressure p1 determined with the first pressure-measuring means (4).
Abstract: A device method and system are provided for measuring the body temperature in the area of the head. Reliable measured values are furnished even during movement and physical exercise. The device includes a head strap (1), whose strap elements (2, 3) are in contact at least partially as strap sections (7, 10) with the scalp of a user (4) of the headband and in which at least one of the strap sections (7) is designed for receiving a first temperature sensor (12) measuring the skin temperature.
Abstract: A system for effective NOx and particulate matter control in a diesel or other lean burn internal combustion engine is presented. The system includes a urea-based SCR catalyst having an oxidation catalyst coupled upstream of it and a particulate filter coupled downstream of the SCR catalyst. This system configuration results in improved NOx conversion due to fast SCR catalyst warm-up and higher operating temperatures. Additionally, placing the particulate filter last in this system configuration reduces tailpipe ammonia emissions as well as prevents any thermal damage to the SCR catalyst due to the particulate filter regeneration.

Abstract: A hoodless incubator is provided, which supplies both a good microclimate in the area of the patient surface (1) and guarantees good access to the patient at the same time and continuously. The incubator includes a bed (1) and an air jet unit (6) arranged above the bed (1) and directed toward the bed (1). The air jet unit (6) discharges a jacketed impinging jet, formed of an inner, air-conditioned core jet (4) and a non-air-conditioned jacket jet (5) surrounding the core jet (4). The bed (1) is surrounded by a channel-like edge area (9), which is in flow connection with the air jet unit (6) via a first feed channel (13) with a first fan (11) arranged therein and with a heating and humidifying device (12) likewise arranged therein in order to form the air-conditioned core jet (4).
Abstract: A device for measuring breath alcohol has a mouthpiece (1) for picking up the exhaled respiratory gas volume flow of a person to be measured. The mouthpiece has a flow diaphragm (3). A pressure sensor (4) is connected via a first gas line to the mouthpiece (1) upstream of the flow diaphragm (3). A breath alcohol sensor (10) is connected via a inlet channel (6) to the mouthpiece (1) downstream of the flow diaphragm (3) and via a second gas line (11) to a sampling system (7, 8, 9) for a respiratory gas sample from the respiratory gas volume flow. An evaluation and control unit (5) receives the measured signals of the pressure sensor (4) and of the breath alcohol sensor (10) and actuates the sampling system (7, 8, 9). The sampling system (7, 8, 9) is designed such that two respiratory gas samples are fed, in a time sequence, into the breath alcohol sensor (10), whereby the volume of the first respiratory gas sample is at most 40% of the volume of the second one.
Abstract: A sewing machine with a hook (8) that is drivable in rotation about a vertical axis comprises a bobbin case (21) with a lifter cam (31). A case lifter (33) is provided, having a sensing lever (40) and a lifter lever (32) that bears against a lifter cam (28). The sensing lever rests on a cam face (42) of an axial cam disk (39) which is mounted on the transmission shaft that actuates a hook-driving shaft (10).
Abstract: The press comprises at least one final pressing station with a standing press comprising one upper pressing plate and one lower pressing plate; the plates are fitted on coaxial coupling attachments (202) and turned on the vertical axis X—X with the bale after final pressing; a lateral sheet (T10) is unwound from a vertical axis reel (206) and is wrapped laterally on the bale, at least partially, by effect of the rotation of the pressing plates, obtained by the presence of the coupling attachments; a cutting device and fasteners (208, 228) for temporary fastening of the ends of the piece (TS) of sheet (T10) to the plates of the press, for binding are provided.
Abstract: The combination needle is intended for peripheral nerve block. It comprises a plastic cannula (1) and an essentially cylindrical, solid steel mandrel (10), which is provided with a pricking tip, which is free from a cutting edge, and with a grip part (11), which has an electric plug contact (21) for the connection of an electrostimulator. The steel mandrel (10) can be introduced into the cannula (1) such that its pricking tip (42) protrudes from the front end of the cannula or is at least flush with same. It shall be achieved with the present invention that the two [“bei der die beiden” in German original should read “die beiden”—Tr.Ed.] electrodes necessary for the electrostimulation are located at a very short distance from one another and the electric effects of the stimulation is [sic—Tr.Ed.] limited to the body area where the stimulation shall take place. The steel mandrel (10) therefore has a two-pole design and is provided with a two-pole electric plug contact means (21, 37).
Abstract: A device is provided for mounting a pedal lever (1) of a motor vehicle, which is accommodated in a housing (3) pivotably around at least one bearing element (2). At least one section of a separating wedge (5) is supported via a support surface (4) against a motor vehicle component (7) and brings about the shearing off of the bearing element (2) due to the action of an external force caused by an accident due to a relative movement between the separating wedge (5) and the bearing element (2) by applying a shearing force. The separating wedge (5) is accommodated between a surface of the housing (3) and the bearing element (2).
