Abstract: A hood with a double wall portion or wall adapter for a thermotherapy device. The wall adapter works with the hood in such thermotherapy devices to lower that part of the body heat of the premature or newborn infant lost due to radiation to the cooler hood. The construction avoids inter alia problems relating to water of condensation being formed, which may drop off. The double wall portion or wall adapter is arranged on the outside of a hood portion of the hood (1). The wall adapter (2) is fastened to the hood part (1) from the outside in a simple manner. A connection structure (5) provides for connection or locking of the wall adapter (2) at the hood (1). A seal (3) extends around the wall element of the wall adapter (2) to enclose an intermediate space between the wall adapter and (2) and the hood (1).
Abstract: An exhaust system for a small watercraft is disclosed, wherein the exhaust system includes an exhaust chamber having a predetermined volume, within which an exhaust gas discharged from an engine flows, the exhaust gas containing water supplied at a position of the exhaust system, and an exhaust pipe having an upstream end portion in a flow passage of the exhaust gas, which is connected to the exhaust chamber, the exhaust pipe being configured to discharge the exhaust gas from the exhaust chamber, wherein the upstream end portion of the exhaust pipe is configured to protrude into the exhaust chamber to a vicinity of a lower end of the exhaust chamber and has an upstream opening end face that opens substantially downward so as to be spaced apart a predetermined distance from an inner surface of the exhaust chamber, which is opposed to upstream opening end face.
Abstract: A system and method to control engine valve timing to during the start of an internal combustion engine. Electromechanical valves are controlled in a manner to reduce engine vibration and hydrocarbon emissions during the start of an internal combustion engine. The method controls valves without an explicit four-stroke engine cycle during a start.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of producing a plurality of portions of a precooked food wherein the food is initially cooked at temperatures above 80° C. and prepared, the food is then cooled in a cooling phase within a maximum time of 120 min passing through the temperature range of 55° C. to 8° C. to a final temperature in the range of 8° C. to 0° C., and stored for a few days at the final temperature. Abstract: A system is described using a fuel quality sensor for controlling various aspects of engine operation. In particular, an acoustic wave sensor is utilized to measure viscosity and density of gasoline fuels. This measurement is utilized to predict engine combustion quality during an engine start. Based on the prediction, the method adjusts engine operating parameters (such as fuel injection amount and ignition timing) to achieve improved vehicle driveability and engine combustion.

Abstract: A small sized disk bit includes a bit holder accommodated in a bearing journal on its side (overhangingly), and a disk body with asymmetrically designed wedge flanks mounted rotatably thereon. To enable the disk body to absorb high radial and axial strong forces encountered during the engagement of the disk on a solid rock, the disk body is designed as a one-part disk body with a blind hole with its surface and the bearing journal surface being designed as components of the bearing. The bearing involves the combination of a radial and thrust bearing each, where the thrust bearing is milled into the track of the radial bearing. A ball bearing is used as the axial bearing and a needle roller bearing, a cylindrical roller bearing or a slide bearing is used as the radial bearing. The diameter of the ball bearing is larger than the diameter of the needle rollers, or the cylindrical rollers or the thickness of the sliding bush of the slide bearing.

Abstract: A method is presented for idle speed control of a lean burn spark ignition internal combustion engine using a fuel-based control strategy. In particular, the idle speed control strategy involves using a combination of fuel quantity or timing and ignition timing to achieve desired engine speed or torque while maintaining the air/fuel ratio more lean than prior art systems. Depending on engine operating conditions, the fuel quantity or timing is adjusted to give a more rich air/fuel ratio in order to respond to an engine speed or torque demand increase. Additionally, due to operation close to the lean misfire limit, the spark ignition timing is adjusted away from MBT in response to an engine speed or torque demand decrease. The advantages of this fuel based control system include better fuel economy as well as fast engine response time due to the use of fuel quantity or timing and ignition timing to control engine output.

Abstract: In the present invention, by selecting an optimum combination of plating layer materials or materials, not only the manufacturing cost of motor brush is reduced but also a plating layer having excellent characteristics is formed in a narrow width on the surface of brush base material so as to have a predetermined thickness. The present invention is formed by a brush sliding portion that slides on a motor commutator and a plate-shaped brush base material that is slender as a whole and supports the brush sliding portion. This brush sliding portion is formed by Pd plating portion formed over a predetermined length on a part in the lengthwise direction of the brush base material that supports the brush sliding portion. This Pd plating is applied on the brush base material via backing Ni plating.
