Abstract: A buttonhole sewing machine comprises a top arm (1) with a needle (6) movable in up and down reciprocation and a base plate (2). A buttonhole cutting device (13) is provided, having a knife (36) which is disposed on the base plate (2) and comprises a straight cutting edge (37) that extends in the y direction and an eye cutting edge (38). A cutting block (15) cooperates with the knife (36). The knife (36) and the cutting block (15) are motor-adjustable one in relation to the other in the y direction.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of controlling an engine at the time of first combustion during start-up in which an increase in an engine speed can be regulated, and thus noises and vibrations of the engine are reduced, and a personal watercraft which does not unintentionally start moving at start-up. The method comprising the steps of detecting the start-up of the engine; detecting a warm-up condition of the engine; and controlling the engine to inhibit combustion of at least one of the cylinders of the engine according to the warm-up condition upon the detection of the start-up.
Abstract: The rewinding machine comprises: a first and a second lower winding roller (5, 7) defining a winding cradle for a reel (R) of web (N); a third upper roller (13) having a mobile axis (13) arranged over said first and second lower winding rollers and carried by two mobile slides (11) to allow for the increasing dimension of the reel under formation in said winding cradle. The two slides (11) carry two cylinders (21, 27) whose axes are parallel to the axis (13A) of the third upper roller (13) which are provided with a reciprocal approaching and distancing movement for either approaching or distancing the reel under formation in said cradle.
Abstract: A mining member designed as a cutting roller for a continuously operating surface miner for mining mineral raw materials of high strength. The roller body is equipped for this purpose with mini-disk bits of identical design. Since different conditions occur over the entire width of the roller during the separation of the material from the soil, the roller body is designed correspondingly, and the arrangement of the mini-disk bits is adapted to these conditions. The mini-disk bits in the edge areas are placed at a greater density than are the mini-disk bits (7) in the middle area. In addition, mini-disk bits are directed obliquely toward the outside as free-cutting bits at the two outer edges of the cutting roller. The height of the mini-disk bits is selected to be such that their individual virtual rolling paths together form a virtual cutting roller body, which comprises a middle cylinder, which is joined on both sides by outwardly tapering frusta.

Abstract: A flexographic printing plate mounting sheet is provided which improves the printing accuracy by its high level of thickness accuracy and ease of installation in the correct position, which makes it possible to peel a flexographic printing plate off without damaging a foamed substrate, and which maintains appropriate cushioning properties. The foamed substrate of the flexographic printing plate mounting sheet has an adhesive layer on one side and a polyethylene terephthalate film on the other side. The polyethylene terephthalate film has on its remaining side an adhesive layer that is protected by release paper. The foamed substrate and the polyethylene terephthalate film are unitarily formed. The foamed substrate is made of urethane foam having a density of 0.3 to 0.6 g/cm3. The polyethylene terephthalate film is 12 to 50 ?m in thickness.
Abstract: In the case of a small-sized motor of the present invention, a printed board to which an electric circuit including an electric element is attached is mounted on a case cover. The printed board has a soldering part to be connected to a member attached to an interior of the case cover for being connected to an electric power source supplied from an outside and a soldering part to be connected to a projection in a notch provided on an opening part side of the metal case to body-earth the electric circuit. In the soldering part for the body-earthing, at the time of assembling the motor, after fitting the case cover to the metal case opening part, a pair of electrodes are brought into contact from an outside of the metal case near the soldering part, to weld the soldering part by a principle of the electric resistance welding.
Abstract: A method for controlling an engine coupled to a transmission is described. The method is especially suited for a transmission having at least one gear in which an over-running clutch is present. The invention describes a method for adjusting an engine operating parameter to maintain transmission input speed at or below a synchronous transmission input speed when the transmission is in the gear with the over-running clutch. The synchronous transmission input speed is based on transmission state and transmission output speed. Alternatively, vehicle speed can be used in place of transmission output speed.

Abstract: A method is described for controlling regeneration of a particulate filter based on at least a sensor, such as a differential pressure sensor. Degradation of the sensor is then detected in a variety of ways. One approach takes advantage of the slowly varying flow resistance of the filter compared with the more rapid variations in flow caused by changing engine conditions. Default operation is then taken when a degraded sensor is detected.

Abstract: A method for controlling mode transitions, such as from stratified to homogeneous mode, in a direct injection engine adjusts an intake manifold outlet control device, such as a cam timing, to rapidly control cylinder fresh charge despite manifold dynamics. In addition, a coordinated change between an intake manifold inlet control device, for example a throttle, and the outlet control device is used to achieve the rapid cylinder fresh charge control. In this way, engine torque disturbances during the mode transition are eliminated, even when cylinder air/fuel ratio is changed from one cylinder event to the next.

Abstract: Each of the rotor magnetic poles is composed of a winding around a laminated core and each of both ends of each wound wire is connected to a commutator leg part coupled with a tip of a corresponding commutator segment of the commutator unit. Each of the commutator leg parts comprises a base portion extending outward in a direction substantially normal to the radial direction from the tip of the corresponding commutator segment tip and coupled to the commutator segment tip and a tip portion narrowed stepwise to let the ends of a wound wire be connected. A disk-shaped varistor having a hole at the center is mounted over the base portion of the commutator leg part, and each electrode of the varistor is soldered onto the corresponding base portion. Further, the commutator leg parts are punched and cut out of a reel-wound flat parent metal sheet and fixed to the commutator segment tips.
Abstract: A method for controlling an engine having both an electronically controlled inlet device, such as an electronic throttle unite, and an electronically controlled outlet device, such as a variable cam timing system is disclosed. The method of the present invention achieves cylinder air charge control that is faster than possible by using an inlet device alone. In other words, the method of the present invention controls cylinder air charge faster than manifold dynamics by coordination of the inlet and outlet device. This improved control is used to improve various engine control functions.

Abstract: A holding device for medical instruments at a patient's bed, which are accommodated in suspension components. Holding devices for various medical instruments, such as respirators and accessories, infusion and secretion bags, measuring instruments and disposable articles, are used at patients' beds in many areas. A frequent drawback of prior-art holding devices is that the support at the patient's bed is unstable because the holding devices are suspended only loosely in a rail or handle. The holding device according to the present invention guarantees stable fastening at the patient's bed. It comprises a horizontal crossbeam (1), which is fixed on the sides of a peripheral strap (9) at the foot end of the patient's bed via, e.g., fixing means (3) designed as metal claws. Two vertical suspension carriers (2) with openings (6) for receiving suspension components have suspension sections (5) at their upper ends for suspension on the straps (9).
