  • Patent number: 6178904
Abstract: A sewing unit for working in extra width in a single fabric layer, wherein a necessary gathering value is calculated by a computer of the sewing unit after the entry of the initial length of the fabric layer and the desired length to be obtained after gathering and sewing. Furthermore, the real number of stitches is calculated to control the end point of an extra width section. The particular current real stitch length value, in which the gathering values dependent on slip of the feeders of the sewing machine is taken into account, is read for this purpose from a memory.

  • Patent number: 6177771
Abstract: An automatic door operator with a motor connectable to a door through gear units and linkages and for moving the door between an open and a closed position. An absolute position transducer measures the absolute position of the door independently of previous positions of the door and substantially continuously. A control senses an external signal indicating one of a desired open state and closed state of the door. The control compares the absolute position of the door with the external signal and generates the drive signal to drive the motor to cause the absolute position to be substantially identical to the external signal. The motor is a regenerative drive operatable in all directional combinations of electrical driving torque and motor rotation. The control electrically drives the regenerative drive in a direction opposite a rotation of the regenerative drive to brake a load applied to the motor. The control also limits the current to the motor, to limit the force the motor applies to the door.

  • Patent number: 6176052
Abstract: The installation of a fire retarding division-penetrating member is enhanced and the member fits the outer circumference of inconstant penetrating material to prevent the filler from dropping. The heat expansion fire resistant material may be securely provided. A tongue piece (17) of fire resistant material (16) may fit to the surface and valley of pipe (25) and cable (26) only by fitting the saw teeth state heat expansion fire resistant material (16) with its upper face being covered with the sheet (19) inside the holding frame (11) of sleeve main bodies (10) and (10a) that are split into two pieces and by dropping these sleeve main bodies (10) and (10a) into the floor through-hole (24) from above. In this way, the filler like mortar (28) and so forth can be immediately filled from the upper floor with no need for repairing the heat expansion fire resistant material (16).

  • Patent number: 6174131
Abstract: A process gas compressor for the stepwise compression of process gases with increased percentage of hydrogen sulfide (H2S), with an H2S-uncritical area and an H2S-critical area, in the housing (5) of which impellers (3) and (2) with a direction of flow to the right (7) and, after cooling (6), impellers (2) with a direction of flow to the left (8) are arranged on a shaft (1), wherein the impellers (3) and (2) are provided with blade ends (4). The transition from the uncritical H2S area to the critical H2S area takes place after the outlet of the first or second larger impeller (3) on the shaft on the left. This is followed by another impeller (2) with a direction of flow to the right (7), which is already located in the critical H2S area. The precompressed process gas is subsequently sent to a cooler (6) before it enters the impellers (2) in the critical H2S area of the process gas compressor at the second gas inlet stage (8) and leaves it at the housing outlet (9).

  • Patent number: 6171052
Abstract: The present invention pertains to the cooling of a honeycomb seal (2), which is arranged in a carrier ring (4), with vertical (2.2) and horizontal (2.1) honeycomb openings. To achieve this, the support ring (4) of the honeycomb seal (2) is provided with cooling air grooves (5) and tangentially arranged cooling holes (6), so that the cooling air (7) is fed homogeneously from the outer annular chamber (8) to the honeycomb seal (2) and can escape via the open honeycomb structure (2.2). Intense cooling action of the honeycomb seal (2), which is subject to high thermal stress, is generated as a result. Furthermore, corrosive process gas is kept extensively away from the honeycomb seal (2). At the same time, the sealing effect of the rotor blade labyrinth seal is improved by the cooling air flow (7) and the rotor blade leak flow (11) crossing each other or being directed in opposite directions.
