  • Patent number: 6164901
Abstract: A process for operating multistage turbocompressors (2, 22, 42) with a plurality of controllers (15, 35, 55) which interact one with each other, in which each compressor stage has anti-surge control valves (5, 25, 45) of its own, which recycle into the suction lines (1, 21, 41) of their respective own compressor stage (2, 22, 42). The control is performed by flow computers (6,26,46) for calculating the suction flow and computers (7,27,47) for determining the minimum acceptable flow from the delivery head. A comparison unit (12, 32, 52) determines the difference between the set point (derived from delivery head) minus the actual value (flow) and whenever the actual value is too low compared with the set point, it brings about a gradual opening of the corresponding surge line control valves (5, 25 and 45) until the actual flow exactly corresponds to the flow set point, which depends on the particular delivery head.

  • Patent number: 6164091
Abstract: Operational method for seaming the edges of a tubular knitted article (C) comprising the preliminary steps of knitting the article in a knitting station (T), removing the stitches of the last knitted rank with stitches-removing means mounted on a first unit movable between said station (T) and a hook-up station (R), overturning through 180.degree. the first semirank of stitches about an axis which virtually subdivides the last knitted rank into said first and second semiranks so as to dispose the thus overturned stitches in correspondence of the stitches of the other semirank, hooking-up the thus disposed stitches of the first and second semiranks, characterized in that it comprises, following the step for the removal of the stitches of the last knitted rank, the transfer of the stitches of at least one semirank onto means other than those which operate the above said removal, said transfer means supporting the stitches of said at least one semirank during said overturning step.

  • Patent number: 6163964
Abstract: The head comprises two covers (3, 5) connected together and an intermediate ring (7), these defining a volume for containing at least one cutting cord (F). The intermediate ring (7) comprises spring means (7A, 7B, 7C) that lock said intermediate ring (7) angularly to at least one of said covers in such a way as to prevent relative rotation between the intermediate ring and the cover in the direction in which the ring tends to be rotated by the resistive force (F.sub.t) acting on the portions of cutting cord projecting from the head (1) during the rotation of the latter; at the same time the spring means permit relative rotation in the opposite direction by torsionally releasing the intermediate ring from said cover, by the action of the traction exerted on said projecting ends of the cutting cords (F).

  • Patent number: 6162281
Abstract: A device for displaying the exhaustion of a gas filter filled with an adsorbent (3). A toxic gas detector (14) determines the toxic gas content at a sampling site (8) within the adsorbent (3). A reference sampling site (12) is located in the area of a gas inlet point (6) of the gas filter (2). The toxic gas detector is designed such that it determines the toxic gas content alternately at the sampling sites (8, 12), and the exhaustion of the filter is determined by a comparison of the toxic gas content at the sampling site (8) with the toxic gas content at the reference sampling site (12).

  • Patent number: 6158754
Abstract: A wheel carrier for motor vehicles with a slotted area. The wheel carrier has two limitedly elastic clamping jaws on a wheel side, which are traversed by a clamping bolt, whose tightening torque determines the strength of a clamping joint. This clamping joint fixes an end piece of a pivot pin of a ball-and-socket joint, especially a guiding joint. This end piece is inserted into the wheel carrier. The joint ball of the pivot pin is mounted in a housing accommodating the joint ball movably in all directions. A clamping protector 5 covering the slotted area 1.1 of the wheel carrier 1 is inserted into the slotted area 1.1 of the wheel carrier 1 and is sealingly fixed in the slotted area, while the material of the clamping protector undergoes plastic deformation in at least some areas.
