Abstract: An apparatus for enriching respiratory gas with oxygen, wherein the entire enriched respiratory gas can be taken from an absorber bed and the enrichment concentration is adjustable by action on the total flow through the adsorber and the portion of the total flow in excess of the consumer flow is removable via an outflow, is improved so that adjustment of enrichment concentration and consumer flow independently of each other is possible and the enrichment concentration is maintained also at fluctuating consumer flow. To this end a control circuit for the stabilization of the set enrichment concentration is provided, to which is connected a control section for the adjustment of the consumer flow, and an outflow being is arranged at the junction between the control circuit and the control section.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device usable in an amusement park in association with a rotatable carousel having a support arm which supports a cylindrical bearing for a car which is used to accommodate one or more persons. The cylindrical bearing is held substantially vertically so that it defines a rotatable horizontal axis which rotatably supports the car. The car is suspended so that the center of gravity of the car holds in a position so that it accommodates the passengers in an upright position. Means are provided to bias the car into an upright position, but to permit it to rotate about its horizontal axis. A feature of the construction is that the car is provided with a control which may be manipulated by a passenger to orient wings of the device so that the device has a tendency to effect a roll about its horizontal axis.
Abstract: A damper assembly, for supporting a seat of a vehicle such as a small-sized motor boat, comprises a lower bracket adapted to be attached to a floor of the vehicle, an upper bracket adapted to be attached to the seat, and a damper mounted between the upper and lower brackets. The damper includes an outer tube extending upwardly from the lower bracket, an inner tube extending downwardly from the upper bracket and telescopically inserted in the outer tube, and a guide tube secured to the lower bracket and telescopically inserted in the inner tube. The inner and guide tubes are connected together so as to allow the inner tube to slide longitudinally on the guide tube but so as to prevent the inner tube from rotation or turning about the guide tube.
Abstract: A support structure for devices particularly life boats and similar apparatus which is weight operated comprises a plurality of support members, each or some of which may be telescopic which are pivotally interconnected adjacent their associated interconnected ends. Each successive upper one of a pair of such members is pivotal relative to the next adjacent lowermost one about a substantially horizontal axis. The pivoting is controlled by a control mechanism which is operated from a fluid pressure source produced by the weight of the elements upon each other. The control mechanism includes means for controlling the amount of tilt of each upper element relative to an adjacent lower element and for the control of the precise angularity of the two elements relative to each other during the pivotal movement.
Abstract: A device for automatic reading of data on cheques, bankable bills and the like. A housing in which is made an open channel or slot defining a U-shaped track for the said cheques or bills. Along this track there are arranged in combination: sensor members for detecting the presence of a cheque or bill to be read; members for the conveyance of the said cheque or bill; and members for reading the data reproduced on the said cheque or bill.
Abstract: Improved anchoring of heating elements of a resistance heater to thermally stressed single crystals is achieved by embedding the individual heating element in a recess in the single crystal and permanently joining this to the heating element by a porous sintered composition. The sintered composition is formed by the heat treatment of a suspension that in addition to other components, contains material with the same chemical composition in powdered form as that of the single crystal.
Abstract: A band store includes a plurality of horizontally movable loop carts, of which one loop cart drive is traction controlled and the other loop cart drives are speed controlled, and this control is effected as a function of the speed of the traction controlled loop cart drive. Thereby synchronous running of the loop carts is achieved.
Abstract: A miniature motor having brushgear comprising brush arms with sliding parts on the tips thereof, terminals and brush bases; the brush bases being supported by a motor case cover plate, when the terminals are inserted in brush holes provided on the motor case cover plate; the sliding parts being brought into sliding contact with a commutator by the resiliency thereof, and characterized in that a flexible photo-setting resin having similar resiliency to the resiliency of vibration-damping rubber is applied to the brush arms to prevent the brushes from unwantedly vibrating during rotation of the commutator.

Abstract: In a photothyristor provided with a cathode, a gate and an anode, the impurity densities of gate (base) portions 20 and 21 are made unequal to each other. The minority carriers are stored in the high impurity density regions 20, the majority carriers are permitted to readily pass through the low impurity density regions 21, and the high and low impurity density regions are electrically coupled together. This thyristor is extremely high in sensitivity and high-speed in operation.
Abstract: A process for producing a hollow fiber mass transfer module with a number of hollow fibers sealed into a housing is improved according to the invention with regard to the development of a desirable flow space in the surface area of the hollow fibers by the fact that a spacing material is applied to the outsides of the hollow fibers before their insertion into the housing (2). The thickness of the material is chosen to conform to the desired separation of the hollow fibers. The hollow fibers are arranged substantially parallel and inserted as a bundle into the housing and are fixed with the grout. The spacing material can have a layered or particulate and granular form. A hollow fiber mass transfer module produced by the process pursuant to the invention has hollow fibers suitably arranged at uniform mutual spacings.
