Abstract: Systems and methods for storing streaming data are provided. A system is disclosed that includes a computer program which, when executed on a computing device, is configured to store a data stream in memory of the computing device in a virtual file format. The virtual file format may include a timeline of events. The events in the timeline may include a plurality of spanning events. Each spanning event may contain respective state information representing a state of the data stream across an interval in the timeline, and may be linked to at least one other spanning event.

Abstract: A detection device is provided for detecting a temperature of an object, especially of a living being. Abstract: A method of operation of an internal combustion engine including an intake valve coupled to a combustion chamber, and a port fuel injector positioned upstream of the intake valve in an intake manifold including a throttle, the port fuel injector fluidly coupled to a fuel rail included in a fuel delivery system housing a fuel at least partially composed of alcohol. The method including, during a start-up operation when the temperature of the engine is below a threshold value and fuel is actively being injected into the intake manifold, adjusting a cone angle of a fuel spray from the port fuel injector, via adjustment of the throttle and/or fuel delivery system, based on the position of the intake valve.

Abstract: An actuating device (1) for a technical system, especially for selecting gears of a shift-by-wire speed-change gear includes an actuating element (2) with at least two shift positions and a locking device (8). The locking device (8) has at least one actuator (7) driven with auxiliary energy and is used to reduce the shifting path of the actuating element (2) or to lock the actuating element (2). The actuator (7) has at least three different shifting states to make it possible to embody the necessary locking functions of the actuating lever with a reduced number of actuators and hence with a comparatively low design effort. Abstract: As one example, a vehicle propulsion system is provided. The system includes: an with an intake air compressor and an exhaust gas turbine. In some embodiments, the display assembly is one of a liquid crystal display, an organic light emitting diode display, and an electronic paper display. In some embodiments, the second customized section of the overlay may include an accessory, such as a sensor accessory, an actuator, or a coating.
Abstract: Various systems and methods are described for operating an engine in a vehicle in response to fuel having varying amounts of alcohol. One example method comprises delivering fuel to the engine, limiting engine speed during vehicle operation to a maximum permitted engine speed, the maximum permitted engine speed responsive to the amount of alcohol in the fuel.
Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed for treating a non-continuous particle beam produced by an accelerator in order to irradiate a target volume, wherein an irradiation spot located in the target volume is formed from this beam, and wherein the location of the irradiation spot is controlled by location controlling elements. The setting of the location controlling elements may take place in between subsequent particle bunches of the beam, for example.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying asymptotes in approximated geometric forms are provided. One disclosed method includes identifying a set of data points that represent an approximated geometric form. The data points may be organized into segments. The method may further include determining a visible range of the geometric form to display. The method may further include looping through successive segments of the approximated geometric form, and on each loop, for a current segment, making a decision whether to draw the current segment based upon a prediction of whether the current segment traverses an asymptote within the visible range. The method may further include displaying on a graphical user interface of a computing device, a graph of the segments of the geometric form in the visible range, the graph not including those segments that were decided not be drawn.

Abstract: The present invention improves the efficiency of conversion from a non-radiation two-dimensional electron plasmon wave into a radiation electromagnetic wave, and realizes a wide-band characteristic.
