Abstract: A camshaft adjuster (1) for an internal combustion engine is provided, in which the relative angular position between a driving gear (2) and an output element that is allocated to the camshaft can be adjusted by hydraulically impinging pressure chambers located between an inner and outer rotor. The outer rotor and the gear ring of the driving gear (2) are joined to each other via fastening elements (15). In order to create a particularly compact camshaft adjuster (1), the fastening elements are located at least in part at a distance from the longitudinal axis of the camshaft adjuster (1) which is smaller than the external radius (35) of the pressure chambers.
Abstract: A device (1) which is used to modify the control times of an internal combustion engine (100) is provided. The device (1) includes a drive wheel (13), a drive element (4) and a swashplate mechanism (4). The torque of the crankshaft (101) is transferred via a primary drive to the drive wheel (13) and then, via the swashplate mechanism (2) to the drive element (4) which is secured to the camshaft (11) in a rotationally fixed manner. The configuration of the mounting of the drive wheel (13) on the tooth support (9) of the drive element (4) reduces the axial area of the device (1) due to the construction measures. The invention also relates to an embodiment, wherein the device (1) is fixed to the camshaft (11) by means of a securing screw (12a) without the need for additional space.
Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is configure to receive and sample wireless signals in a shared spectrum where the wireless signal comprise encoded symbols. The WTRU has a channel estimation device configured to process received signal samples to produce an estimate of a channel response of the received signals corresponding to a matrix H. The channel estimation device is preferably configured to process the received signal samples to produce an estimate of noise variance of the received signals. The WTRU preferably has a two stage data estimator that includes a channel equalizer and a despreader. The channel equalizer is configured to process received signal samples using the estimated channel response matrix H and the estimate of noise variance to produce a spread signal estimate of the received signals. The despreader is configured to process the spread signal estimate of the received signals produced by said channel equalizer to recover encoded symbols of the received signals.

Abstract: A hydraulic cam follower (1), such as a roller tappet, is provided. This is used for the actuation of two identically operating gas-exchange valves and should be installed inclined to the direction of the force of gravity. Abstract: A switchable component (1) for a valve train of a combustion engine is provided, such as a roller tappet, with a housing (2), in whose borehole (3) an inner element (4) runs that can move relative to the housing in the axial direction. Abstract: A swash plate pivot bearing is provided having roller bearing segments (15) arranged between a hollow cylindrical bearing surface (12) for a swash plate (10) in a housing (3) and a cylindrical bearing surface (11) on the swash plate (10), held in curved cages (17) whereby elements are provided for controlling the cages which prevent the cage (17) accommodating the roller body (16) from slipping out from the optimum position thereof in the pivot bearing. The cage control elements are integrated into the roller bearing segments (15) so that at least one roller body (23, 23.1, 23.2) of cylindrical form has a positive engagement with the hollow cylindrical bearing surface (12) and the cylindrical bearing surface (11). It is thus possible to prevent the escape of roller bearing segments (15) from the bearing gap (22) due to the effects of vibration.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for selecting one of a plurality of multi-band access points (APs) to associate with a multi-band wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) are disclosed. The multi-band APs broadcast frequency band information regarding multiple frequency bands on which the multi-band AP is configured to operate. The multi-band WTRU selects a particular multi-band AP to associate with and a frequency band to use to communicate with the selected multi-band AP based on the frequency band information. If the multi-band WTRU receives frequency band information from the selected multi-band AP which indicates that a characteristic, (e.g., throughput, path loss, load, capacity, backhaul), of the selected frequency band is unacceptable, the multi-band WTRU determines whether to disassociate with the selected multi-band AP or to continue to associate with the selected multi-band AP via a different frequency band.
Abstract: A device for investigating activities of cell cultures in a liquid culture medium includes a receptacle for the culture medium, and one or more sensors for measurement of cell culture activities. An opening for adding and removing liquid culture medium is provided. A separating element can be placed close to the receptacle bottom, forming a partial space with a small volume relative to the entire volume. A flow channel that communicates with the small volume and the reservoir and/or the sensors are placed in the small volume partial space. By adjustment of the separating element distance from the receptacle bottom, a microreaction volume exactly fitting the current requirements is obtained. For regeneration of the cell culture solution in the small volume partial space, the separating element can be elevated and depressed, or liquid can be injected into the small volume by the through-flow channel, providing convective mixing of fresh and spent medium.

Abstract: A method for performing frequency selection escape in wireless communications is disclosed. The method includes receiving an activation trigger, determining whether the activation trigger has persisted for a predetermined period of time, determining a list of candidate channels; selecting a channel from the candidate list, and evaluating the selected channel against predetermined criteria, the predetermined criteria being related to the activation trigger. If the selected channel meets the predetermined criteria, then an access point (AP) is disassociated from all stations communicating with the AP; and the AP is changed to the selected channel. If the selected channel does not meet the predetermined criteria, then the selected channel is removed from the candidate list; and the selecting of a channel is repeated if there are additional candidate channels.

The fully differential delta sigma modulator has an integrator in which a comparator replaces an operational amplifier for decreasing power consumption. The integrator extends to a fully differential implementation with the addition of a common-mode feedback circuit for improving equivalent input and signal-to-noise ratio.
Abstract: The present invention is related to a method and apparatus for transmitting concatenated frames in a wireless communication system comprising a plurality of mesh points (MPs). In one embodiment, a first MP transmits a data stream to a second MP, wherein the data stream is further transmitted to a third MP as a final destination. The second MP receives the data stream from the first MP. The second MP transmits a concatenated frame to the first and third MPs.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for creating a magnified composite image of a microscope specimen comprises making error corrections for imprecise movements of the specimen relative to an objective lens when capturing data for first and second images. A correction offset is computed based on a comparison of data for overlapped portions of the first and second images and then the specimen is moved through a distance modified by the correction offset for capture of a subsequent tiled image. Image center portions are retained as the data structure tile. The area about the center portion is used to align images and to compensate for stage inaccuracies and to provide a feedback signal for a drive system. Differences in X, Y coordinates for macro and micro view images may be used as navigation offsets to view a selected point for the micro image marked on the macro image.

Abstract: A sensed image and shooting time information corresponding to the sensed image are stored on a memory card. A display unit comprises a plurality of display areas at specific consecutive shooting times and displays the shooting time in the display area. A CPU specifies a display area in which a sensed image corresponding to the shooting time as an image-existing area, and enables the display unit to visibly indicate the image-existing area of the display areas specified as the image-existing area, based on a prescribed condition by a cursor. In this case, when the movement of the display area is instructed, the CPU moves only the image-existing area and indicates the existence of an image, by controlling the movement of the cursor.
Abstract: A waterproof housing is provided with an engaging member that can engage with rotary members provided respectively on a plurality of cameras. The rotary members can be rotated from the outside of the waterproof housing. Accordingly, the plurality of cameras can be stored and operated selectively in a single waterproof housing. For example, the engaging member can be configured in such a manner that a plurality of multiple recessed portions are provided concentrically so that each one of the plurality of rotary members can be fitted to any one of the recessed portion out of the multiple recessed portions.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to methods and wireless communication devices that are configured to enhance communication capacity in a wireless network. In one aspect of the invention various scheduling processes and schedulers for the transmissions of data packets are disclosed. In another aspect of the invention, the selection of appropriate transmission rates to advertise by a common unit which provides wireless service to different types of wireless transmit receive units (WTRUs) is addressed.
