  • Patent number: 7715498
Abstract: A method and apparatus for correcting the phase and gain of data associated with a constellation pattern of a plurality of received individual symbols. Each symbol is divided into real and imaginary symbol components. The signs of the real and imaginary symbol components of each symbol are determined and used as a basis for determining whether the symbol is associated with a first or third quadrant of the constellation pattern or a second or fourth quadrant of the constellation pattern. The absolute values of the real and imaginary symbol components are determined and used to create a first sum and a second sum. A phase adjustment value ? and a gain adjustment value G are derived from the first and second sums, and are used to create a complex number. Each of the received individual symbols is multiplied by the created complex number to provide corrected constellation pattern data.

  • Patent number: 7715305
Abstract: A method of recovering data for use in a receiver that simultaneously receives a plurality of code division multiple access data signals, each data signal experiencing a similar channel response. A combined signal over the shared spectrum in a time slot is received and sampled. The combined signal comprises the plurality of data signals. The sampled signal is used to estimate the similar channel response, and a channel response matrix is constructed. A channel correlation matrix is constructed based in part on the estimated channel response matrix. A fast Fourier transform (FFT) decomposition of a circulant matrix approximation of the channel correlation matrix, and the sampled data signals, are used to determine a spread data vector. The spread data vector is despread to recover data from the matrix.

  • Patent number: 7712400
Abstract: A pretensioning tool is provided for an eccentric tensioning device, which is used for tensioning a power-transmission element constructed, for example, as a flat or toothed belt in a power-transmission drive. The tensioning tool has an engagement structure that can be coupled so that it is locked in rotation with a working eccentric from a front region facing away from the flange side of the eccentric tensioning device and a decoupling structure for implementing an axial displacement of the working eccentric relative to the bearing journal. In this way, it is possible to turn back the working eccentric by hand and with moderate hand forces against the tensioning moment applied by the torsion spring of the tensioning device into a mounting position and to secure the working eccentric in this mounting position through axial decoupling of this eccentric relative to a base plate device.

  • Patent number: 7715848
Abstract: A wireless communication method and system for optimizing channel selection for an AP. The channel selection optimization process includes four sub-processes: (1) a measurement process; (2) a candidate channel determining process; (3) a channel selection process; and (4) a channel update process. Candidate channels used for supporting communication performed by the AP are determined. The candidate channels are chosen from an allowable channel set (ACS) if a detected interference of each candidate channel is less than an established maximum allowed interference.

  • Patent number: 7709543
Abstract: A system and a method of providing PUR/PIR foam using flammable blowing agent. The flammable blowing agent is introduced to PUR/PIR manufacturing equipment via an independent feed-line. This enables a flammable blowing agent storage vessel to be located off site from the foam manufacturing equipment. The independent flammable blowing agent feed-line couples the off-site flammable blowing agent storage vessel with the foam production system. The preferred flammable blowing agent is pentane.

  • Patent number: 7710911
Abstract: A method and apparatus for dynamically allocating hybrid automatic repeat request (H-ARQ) processes in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) for supporting enhanced uplink (EU) transmissions. The H-ARQ processes in the WTRU are reserved for specific transport channels (TrCHs), dedicated channel medium access control (MAC-d) flows or logical channels associated with different data transmission priority classes. The WTRU allocates H-ARQ processes from those reserved H-ARQ processes that are available. Optionally, a higher priority channel may be allowed to allocate an H-ARQ process reserved for lower priority channels. Lower priority H-ARQ processes may be preempted. The preemption may be restricted by urgency of data transmission, or by radio network controller (RNC) configuration of H-ARQ processes.

  • Patent number: 7710909
Abstract: A wireless communications system employs code-division multiple access information transmission techniques where the uplink and downlink transmission bandwidths are unequal. The higher bandwidth is an integer multiple of the lower bandwidth. The present system requires a base station and a subscriber unit to have two pseudo-random code generators which can be clocked separately. Alignment of the uplink and downlink pseudo-random spreading codes is achieved by truncating the code sequence for the lower speed link at the conclusion of a complete code sequence for the higher speed link.

  • Patent number: 7709036
Abstract: A method for producing granules made from malt extract is provided. The method provides for producing granules continuously or in batches under the prevention as much as possible of non-uniform temperature distributions in the production process. Simultaneously, the controllability of the granulation in the production is improved. This is realized by linking thermal conditions in the spraying zone and the temperature conditions in other region of the apparatus. This is achieved such that the supply of the heated process gas for drying is realized exclusively in the spraying region. The reliable supply of particles into the spraying region is performed through the special geometric configuration of the apparatus under the use of gravity.

  • Patent number: 7703427
Abstract: A camshaft adjusting device for an internal combustion engine is provided. A functionally reliable camshaft adjusting device designed for a long-lasting operation is obtained when the camshaft adjuster (13) has a lifelong lubrication located in the housing (28, 36, 37) sealed from the surrounding area be sealing covers (36, 37). The camshaft adjuster is not required to be mounted inside the cylinder head (33), but can be mounted as a separate unit on the cylinder head (33) of the internal combustion engine independent of the lubricating oil circuit. This expands, in particular, the range of possibilities for use of the camshaft adjuster (13) with a belt drive.
