The converter further includes at least one rectifier rectifying alternating input current, comprising at least one transistor bridge converting the resulting direct current into alternating current, the transformer transforming the resulting alternating current, and comprising at least two high-voltage rectifiers connected to each of the secondary windings, wherein the output voltage of the high-voltage rectifiers is connected in series.
Abstract: An improved arrangement is described for maintaining throughput of date packets over a cellular packet network from an Internet server to an end user machine during handoff of a mobile subscriber unit from a first base station to a second base station. The end user machine conventionally generates, in response to successive bytes from the server, acknowledgment signals including here applicable a “zero” acknowledgment signal that advertises a closed receive window at the end user machine and that is effective to pause transmission of data from the server. In response to a handoff start signal from the subscriber unit, a gateway unit associated with the first base station sends to the server a simulated zero acknowledgment signal to pause such transmission. Upon completion of handoff, an actual non-zero acknowledgment signal stored at the gateway unit at the start of handoff is applied to the server to resume transmission from the server to the end user machine.
Abstract: A method implemented in a wireless communication system including a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), a Node-B and a radio network controller (RNC) for quantizing multiplexed data allowed by grants to closely match a selected enhanced uplink transport format combination (E-TFC) transport block size is disclosed. The amount of scheduled and non-scheduled data allowed to be transmitted is quantized so that the amount of data multiplexed into an enhanced uplink (EU) medium access control (MAC-e) protocol data unit (PDU) more closely matches the selected E-TFC transport block size. In an embodiment, the amount of buffered data allowed to be multiplexed by at least one grant, (a serving grant and/or a non-serving grant), is quantized so that the sum of scheduled and non-scheduled data including MAC header and control information multiplexed into a MAC-e PDU more closely matches the selected E-TFC transport block size.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for selecting a beam combination of beam switched antennas in a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communication system including a first node and a second node. The first node sends a plurality of modulation and coding scheme (MCS) requests to the second node. Each of the plurality of MCS requests is sent using a particular beam combination. The second node receives the MCS requests and generates MCS feedback signals for each of the MCS requests. Each MCS feedback signal includes an MCS recommendation for the particular beam. The first node selects a beam combination for communicating with the second node based on the MCS recommendations.

Abstract: The invention includes various embodiments for use in physical layer processing. One embodiment determines the address mapping of bits in the physical channel buffer from the address of bits in the first interleaver buffer. The physical channel buffer addresses are determined corresponding to addresses of the bits after rate matching, bit scrambling, second interleaving and physical channel mapping. The bits are directly read from the first interleaver buffer and written to the physical channel buffer using the determined physical channel buffer addresses. Another embodiment determines the address mapping of bits in the first interleaver buffer from the address of bits in the physical channel buffer. The first interleaver buffer addresses are determined corresponding to addresses of the bits after reverse rate matching, reverse bit scrambling, reverse second interleaving and reverse physical channel mapping.

The light-guiding unit and the holder are connected together on the emission face side of the light-guiding unit.
Abstract: The present invention is a system and method which controls outer loop transmit power for transmission power of an uplink/downlink communication in a wireless communication system. The system receives a communication from a base station and determines an error rate on the received communication. The system then distinguishes between static and dynamic channels, produces a static adjustment value, and characterizes the dynamic channels to generate a dynamic adjustment value. The target power level is then adjusted by the static and dynamic adjustment values, setting the transmission power level.

Abstract: An improved paintball feed mechanism for a paintball loader is disclosed, including a drive shaft and a motor for actuating the drive shaft. At least on rigid projection is provided connected to the drive shaft by an elastic member. The elastic member is formed so that it will bend when the rigid projection encounters a jammed or stationary paintball in the paintball loader, thus preventing paintball breakage.
Abstract: An antenna assembly includes at least two active or main radiating omni-directional antenna elements arranged with at least one beam control or passive antenna element used as a reflector. The beam control antenna element(s) may have multiple reactance elements that can electrically terminate it to adjust the input or output beam pattern(s) produced by the combination of the active antenna elements and the beam control antenna element(s). More specifically, the beam control antenna element(s) may be coupled to different terminating reactances to change beam characteristics, such as the directivity and angular beam width. Processing may be employed to select which terminating reactance to use. Consequently, the radiator pattern of the antenna can be more easily directed towards a specific target receiver/transmitter, reduce signal-to-noise interference levels, and/or increase gain.
Abstract: A spread spectrum mobile station comprises at least one antenna configured to receive power commands. The power commands indicate that the mobile station should increase or decrease its transmit power. A decision device is configured to process the received power commands and produce a decision indicating whether each received power command indicates an increase or a decrease in the mobile station's transmit power level. An accumulator is configured to accumulate a plurality of the decisions. An algorithm device is configured to receive the accumulated decisions and apply an algorithm to the accumulated decisions to set the mobile station's transmit power level. The algorithm compares a plurality of the decisions to determine if the plurality of decisions match and the transmission power level is adjusted by a first amount if the decisions are determined to match and not adjusted by that first amount if the decisions are determined to not match.

Abstract: An image pick-up apparatus includes an image pick-up device and a filter circuit. The image pick-up device includes a pixel portion for converting a subject image into an electric signal, a scanning circuit for dividing the pixel portion into a plurality of areas, for non-linearly dividing the boundary of the areas of at least one side of the adjacent areas based on the unit of pixel, and a plurality of output circuits for individually outputting video signals. The filter circuit performs filter processing of the video signals outputted from the plurality of output circuits for the pixels near the boundary of the areas. Thus, the image quality can be improved in the multi-channel output system.
Abstract: A method for producing enzyme granulates, the resulting enzyme granulates, and their use in formulations, e.g., for animal feed, food, washing means, rinsing means, and/or for pharmaceutical purposes and the like. The enzyme granulates show, in particular, a high relative percentage of active enzymes, certain grain sizes, good storage stability, especially small roundness factor, and/or low residual moisture percentage as well as preferably additional specific properties. According to the invention, the enzyme granulates are produced by linking the thermal conditions in the spray zone and the temperature conditions in the remaining region of the fluidized bed. In the process according to the invention, this is achieved in that the supply of heated processing gas is realized for drying exclusively in the injection region. The reliable supply of particles in the injection region is realized through the special geometrical shape of the apparatus under the use of gravity.
