Abstract: Disclosed herein is a low risk deployment passenger airbag system using a slim type passenger airbag module which is minimized in height and/or length, such that a top airbag and a mid airbag can be installed in a limited space defined by an instrument panel. In the slim type passenger airbag module used in the low risk deployment passenger airbag system, a disk type inflator is used, unlike the conventional art using a cylindrical inflator, an upper end of the disk inflator is disposed in an airbag housing, and a retainer for supporting the cushion is brought into close contact with the bottom (or the rear surface) of the airbag housing in which the disk type inflator is provided, thus minimizing the height and/or length of the passenger airbag module. Thereby, the slim type passenger airbag module is suitable for the low risk deployment passenger airbag system.

Abstract: In a method of unlocking mobile telephones, in particular one using the “SIM-LOCK” method, the user of the telephone submits an unlocking request directly to the manufacturer of the telephone and the manufacturer sends unlocking information to the telephone after verifying with the operator that the user is entitled to unlocking. This simplifies the administration of unlocking requests and makes it more reliable.
Abstract: A wireless communication method and apparatus for decoding enhanced dedicated channel (E-DCH) absolute grant channel (E-AGCH) transmissions are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) receives E-AGCH data which includes a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) part and a data part. The CRC part is masked with a WTRU identity (ID) at a Node-B. The CRC part and the data part are demultiplexed and the CRC part is demasked with the WTRU ID. A CRC is then performed with the demasked CRC part. If the CRC passes the data part is sent to an enhanced uplink medium access control (MAC-e) entity. The WTRU ID may be a primary E-DCH radio network temporary identity (E-RNTI) or a secondary E-RNTI. When the E-AGCH data is transmitted over a 10 ms frame, if the CRC fails, E-AGCH data via subsequent subframe may be soft combined with the previous E-AGCH data.
Abstract: Improvements in active field polarized media air cleaner include an aerodynamic front cowling to reduce static air resistance, a rear double hinge to reduce blow by, a resistive center screen permitting the sharing of high voltage power supplies while reducing the tendency to arc and allowing for a higher operational voltage, a dielectric media support frame to produce a more uniform electrostatic field and reduce blow by, while at the same time reducing the tendency to spray corona and/or arc at the edges of the center screen, a substantially flat conductive outer screen to produce a more uniform electrostatic field throughout the filter media and a high-voltage shield to reduce high-voltage arcing and the spraying of corona where the high-voltage probe contacts the center screen.

Abstract: A device (1) having integrated beam switching systems is provided which uses corresponding devices (7 and 9) and fiber optic light guides (10 and 11) for guiding the light (3) used for analysis of a liquid medium (2), for example in a spectrophotometer, a spectrofluorimeter or a similar measuring device, to a measuring point located on the device (1) and embodied as a receiving surface (4) for the medium, and back therefrom to the detector for the spectrophotometer, a spectrofluorimeter or the like. The receiving surface (4) forms a flat measuring point on the upper side of the device (1) and is closed by a cover-type detachable reflector (8) in the position of use. The reflector is in close contact with the sample of the medium (2) and can be removed before the application of the sample and for cleaning the measuring point.
Abstract: A transceiver comprising a data processing module, a security processing module, a medium access control (MAC) module, a dirty-paper-coding (DPC) module, and a smart antenna processor. The data processing module provides user data streams to the MAC module and channel state information to the smart antenna processor. The security processing module generates security data and provides the security data to the MAC module. The security module also provides security policy data to the smart antenna processor. The MAC module determines data transmission rates for the user data streams and the security data. In addition, the MAC module allocates the data streams and security data to transmission channels for transmission. The DPC module encodes the security data onto the user data streams. The smart antenna processor generates pre-coding coefficients used by the DPC module and transmits the security encoded data streams.

Abstract: A foldable stroller which includes a frame having a front leg and right and left rear legs, right and left support rails movably coupled to a respective one of the right and left rear legs, an operator handle extending between the support rails. A locking assembly is secured to at least one of the support rails and biased toward a locking position that fixes the engagement between the support rails and the rear legs. The stroller includes a one hand folding mechanism that can be movably secured to an operator tray. The foldable stroller also includes a reclinable back having a plurality of recline positions that retains the last adjustment position when the stroller is moved between a folded and unfolded condition.

Abstract: A filling material for filling into articles of bedding and the like is presented and includes polyester fibres having an average dimension of 0.5 to 2.5 dtex and being coated with a slickener and crimped. The fibres have been cut to an average length of 4-15 mm and have subsequently been opened. In a method of forming a filling material a tow of slickened fibres of the above type is formed and crimped and is then cut to the above mentioned length. The cut fibres are then opened to form the filling material.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for estimating channelization codes in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) using blind code detection (BCD). A WTRU receives communication bursts and detects a midamble in the received burst. A candidate code list is generated in accordance with the detected midamble. The candidate code list includes channelization codes intended for both the intended WTRU and other WTRUs. Active channelization codes among the codes in the candidate list are identified, and the identified codes are forwarded to a multi-user detector (MUD). The present invention resolves SF ambiguity in the downlink of TSM. Since the orthogonal variable spreading factor code maintains the orthogonality between codes of different SF, SFs of other WTRUs follow the SF of the intended WTRU. Moreover, since the data for other WTRUs is not used in symbol processing after MUD, the performance of MUD for the intended WTRU is preserved with the SF ambiguity of other WTRUs.

Abstract: An automatic gain control (AGC) method according to the present invention applies an initial gain by a digital AGC circuit in a timeslot is determined using a final calculated gain from the same timeslot in the previous frame together with an offset factor. An erase function is activated for a given data sample block when the number of saturated data samples that are detected within the block exceeds a threshold value. The power measurement made by the AGC circuit and used to update the gain is adjusted based on the number of measured data samples that are saturated. These elements provide a gain limiting function and allows limiting of the dynamic range for further signal processing.

Abstract: A code division multiple access communication system has a base station with a plurality of transmitting antennas. From each transmitting antenna of the base station, a pilot signal is transmitted having a different chip sequence than the other transmitting antenna. At a user equipment, the transmitted pilot signals are received from each transmitting antenna. A weight adjustment is derived in response to the received transmitted pilot signals. The user equipment transmits the weight adjustment to the base station. The transmitted weight adjustment is received from the user equipment. A data signal is processed to produce a plurality of versions of the data signal. At least a portion of each processed data signal has a different chip sequence than the other processed data signal version. At least one processed data signal version is weighted by a weight value adjusted in response to the received transmitted weight adjustment.
Abstract: The present invention is a receiver which includes a blind code detection device for determining the identity of a plurality of channels over which information is to be transmitted when the identity of all channels is not known by the receiver. The blind code detection device generates a candidate channel list filled with the identify of selected channels out of the plurality of channels. A multi-user detection device, responsive to the blind code detection device, processes those channels in the candidate code list.
