Abstract: A spoked wheel for a bicycle is described, including a hub, a rim, and a plurality of spokes, which connect the hub to the rim. The spokes are arranged in groups set at an angular distance from one another. At least two spokes of each group, viewed in the direction of the axis of the wheel, cross over one another.
Abstract: A received channel power indicator (RCPI) value is used as a measure of the received RF power in the selected channel, measured at the antenna connector. This parameter is a measure by the PHY sublayer of the received RF power in the channel measured over the PLCP preamble and over the entire received frame. RCPI is a monotonically increasing, logarithmic function of the received power level defined in dBm.
Abstract: A heat shield arrangement for local separation of a flow channel within a turbine engine, with respect to a stator housing radially surrounding the flow channel is provided. The heat shield includes two axially opposite joining contours which are each engageable with two components which are axially adjacent along the flow channel. Each provides a complementary reception contour for the joining contours. At least one of the reception contours has an axial clearance, in which the associated joining contour is axially displaceably mounted. At least one seal is provided between the axially displaceable joining contour and the reception contour. The seal is mounted movably within the reception contour or the joining contour in such a way that the seal is deflectable against a surface region of the reception contour or of the joining contour.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a jet regulator (1) having a jet fractionating device inside a mounting housing (6). The jet regulator (1) according to the present invention is characterized in that the mounting housing (6) is divided into at least two housing parts (7, 8), and that the housing parts (7, 8) can be connected to one another, and that a housing part (7) at the flow inlet side is connected fixedly and non-releasably with the jet fractionating device (2). The jet regulator (1) according to the present invention is distinguished by a high degree of shape stability and by manufacturing costs that are nonetheless low, even for small housing diameters (see FIG. 1).
Abstract: An eccentric tensioning device is provided for tensioning a power-transmission means constructed, for example, as a flat belt or toothed belt in a power-transmission means drive. Abstract: An automatic gain control system prevents input overload by precisely controlling the input level of a received, digitally modulated signal without variable gain amplification. Limiting amplification in conjunction with a logarithmic detection splits an input signal path in two, providing separate phase and amplitude information for downstream digital signal processing, where the separate phase and amplitude information is processed without variable gain artifacts. The separated phase information may further be divided into I and Q signals.

Abstract: A switchable finger lever (1) of a valve train of an internal combustion engine is provided, including an outer lever (3) and an inner lever (4) that extends between the arms thereof. One end of the outer lever (3) is provided with a contact area (6) for a head of a resting element on the bottom side (5) thereof. A smooth-faced longitudinal recess (7) for a coupling means (8) extends above the contact area (6). Some sections of the coupling means (8) can be engaged with the driving area (9) located on a face (10) of the inner lever (4) when the levers (3, 4) are coupled. The coupling means (8) is provided as a circular cylinder which is freely rotatable in the longitudinal recess (7) that is provided as a bore. The driving area (9) is provided on the inner lever (4) so as to be complementary to the outer envelope (14) of the coupling means (8). Durability in the coupling zone is improved as a result of the fact that the coupling means (8) is freely rotatable.
Abstract: The present invention contributes to the resolution of the problem of detecting, for example, plastic explosives, which are not easily detected by conventional inspection techniques, as those based on X-ray apparatuses; or those using more sophisticated means from traces of explosive material which may remain, “contaminating” the external surface of luggage. As regards the first technique, the invention has an additional advantage in that it is fully automatic, that is, it is independent from the operator's ability to interpret low contrast images. As regards the second technology, the main advantage of the present invention consists of its speed and safety when inspecting luggage.
Abstract: A method for outer loop power control which compensates for changing channel conditions. A target metric, preferably target signal-to-interference ratio (SIR), is adjusted with differing step up and step down levels to converge on a relatively low steady state level of step up and step down target metric adjustments. The initial target SIR remains fixed during an inner loop settling state, followed by incremental target SIR adjustments during a transient state, and smaller incremental target SIR adjustments in a steady state. Step sizes of the adjustments are preferably based on the target block error rate (BLER) and the number of errors detected within predetermined time intervals.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for transfer of signals from multiple antennas down to baseband over a common radio frequency (RF) chain. Antenna selection having greater flexibility and applicability to both uplink and downlink is obtained by giving priority to the antenna receiving a better/best quality signal. Measurements are taken by at least a channel estimator during each time slot to determine the weighting to be given to the antenna with the better/best quality signal. Techniques and apparatus are provided to take measurements over a range of intervals from time slots to single symbols, for example, to select the best signal. The techniques described herein may be used individually, and in some cases are combined to receive additional benefits in efficiency. For example, one or more of recent and/or current channel estimation, history, optimization may be employed, in addition to channel estimation, to determine signal quality.

Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) uses an oscillator providing accuracy for synchronized communications parameters in an active mode, and operates at reduced power during a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode. A real time clock (RTC) is used as the frequency standard during the reduced power operation, and a frequency adjustment is effected while the RTC is used as the frequency standard. By effecting the frequency adjustment, the RTC is able to be used as the frequency standard for substantial time periods, thereby reducing power consumption of the WTRU during the DRX mode.

Abstract: A heat accumulation segment for local separation of a flow duct inside a turbo engine, from a stator housing that radially surrounds the flow duct is provided. The heat accumulation segment includes two axially opposed joining contoured elements that are engageable with two components that are axially adjacent along the flow duct. A first one of the two joining contoured elements has a radially oriented recess with a frustoconical contoured surface against which a securing pin having a frustoconical external contour that acts radially under force action from a component that adjoins the first joining contoured element, and the first joining contoured element has a collar portion having a radially upper collar surface and a radially lower collar surface. The collar portion is connected within a counter-contoured receiving contoured element in the axially adjacent component by a joining force that acts between the securing pin and the frustoconical contoured surface.
