Abstract: The method and circuit for controlling a sensorless single-phase BLDCM having a stator with a winding are proposed. The provided controlling circuit includes a power supply circuit, an inverter coupled to the winding and the power supply circuit, a BEMF detecting circuit coupled to the winding and the inverter and measuring a BEMF of the winding, and a controller coupled to the power supply circuit, the inverter and the BEMF detecting circuit and analyzing a status of the BEMF to control the BLDCM accordingly. The provided method is based on the motor winding time-sharing theory, and the controller controls the inverter to make the winding used as a driving element with loading current when the absolute value of the BEMF is relatively large and as a sensing element when the absolute value of the BEMF is relatively small.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for canceling cross-correlation noise due to a strong serving cell signal in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The wireless communication system includes a serving cell, at least one neighbor cell and at least one wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). The WTRU receives a signal including a signal component transmitted by each of the serving and neighbor cells. The WTRU computes a cross-correlation of a pilot sequence of the serving cell and a pilot sequence of a target cell, and computes a target cell correlation by correlating the received signals with the pilot sequence of the target cell. The WTRU computes a cancellation signal for canceling the cross-correlation, and subtracts the cancellation signal from the target cell correlation. The WTRU then processes the cross-correlation cancelled signal for evaluation of handover.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for correcting the phase and gain of data associated with a constellation pattern of a plurality of received individual symbols. Each symbol is divided into real and imaginary symbol components. The signs of the real and imaginary symbol components of each symbol are determined and used as a basis for determining whether the symbol is associated with a first or third quadrant of the constellation pattern or a second or fourth quadrant of the constellation pattern. The absolute values of the real and imaginary symbol components are determined and used to create a first sum and a second sum. A phase adjustment value ? and a gain adjustment value G are derived from the first and second sums, and are used to create a complex number. Each of the received individual symbols is multiplied by the created complex number to provide corrected constellation pattern data.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) receives a reference signal over a physical reference channel using a reference channel receiver and obtains reference power levels from the reference signal. The interference level is obtained and a path loss is calculated in response to the reference signal. Transmit power is then determined for an allocated uplink control channel based, at least in part, upon said path loss and said interference level.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for utilizing a switched beam directional antenna in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is disclosed. A wireless communication system includes a serving cell, a neighbor cell and a WTRU. The WTRU is configured to generate and steer a directional beam in a plurality of directions. Once the WTRU registers with the wireless communication system, the WTRU receives messages transmitted by the serving cell. The WTRU measures signal quality of messages received in each of a plurality of predetermined directions while steering the directional beam antenna. The WTRU selects a particular one of the directions having the best signal quality. As the WTRU constantly moves, the WTRU monitors signal quality in the selected direction, and switches to another direction when the signal quality in a current direction drops below a predetermined threshold.

Abstract: A method for the acceleration of an electromagnetic rapper, particularly for an electrostatic precipitator, which includes a metal cylinder as a hammer, an electrical coil for lifting the metal cylinder and a coil energizer for energizing the electrical coil. For cleaning a surface the metal cylinder is lifted by an initial electrical pulse generated by the coil energizer. The coil energizer supplies the electrical coil with an additional electrical pulse so that the metal cylinder is accelerated when it has reached the maximum point of its trajectory.

Abstract: A method of making a seam for an endless woven multilayer papermakers fabric such as a press felt base fabric, comprises selecting a repeating weave pattern so as to provide during weaving a body portion woven as a double layer, and a shed change for the warp yarns adjacent to the warp yarns of the body portion to provide a first and second seaming portion. In each seaming portion the warp yarns are separated into an upper group and a lower group such that the weft yarn interweaves separately with each group to form a distinct upper and lower layer. A forming wire is provided at the vertically aligned lateral edges of the fabric, and the weft yarn in sequence interweaves with the upper group of warp yarns to provide the upper layer, forms a seaming loop about the forming wire and interweaves with the lower group of warp yarns to provide the lower layer. The method and a fabric made by the method provide improved uniformity of the seaming loops and reduced sheet marking in the seam area.
Abstract: A process for preparation of crystalline perindopril erbumine of formula (II) which exhibits the X-ray (powder) diffraction pattern like that shown in FIG. 2 The process comprises reacting a solution of perindopril of formula (I), in a solvent selected from N,N-dimethylformamide, dimethyl acetals of lower aliphatic aldehydes, dimethyl ketals of lower aliphatic ketones and 1,2-dialkoxyethane with tertiary butylamine and crystallization of the erbumine salt thus obtained by heating the reaction mixture to reflux, filtering hot, cooling gradually to 20° C. to 30° C., and further cooling to 0° C. to 15° C. for 30 minutes to 1 hour and finally filtering off and drying the crystals.

Abstract: A startup process of an access point (AP) includes a discovery phase and an announcement phase. During the discovery phase, the AP detects neighboring APs from its own extended service set (ESS), neighboring APs from different ESSs, and external sources of interference. During the announcement phase, the AP transmits its beacon signals at maximum power in order to accelerate recognition by neighboring APs running the discovery phase. An automatic initialization channel selection process of an AP scans channels the AP will use to communicate. Information of each scanned channel is recorded and a best performance channel is determined for use by the AP.

Abstract: In a camera system of this invention, a light beam coming from a photographing lens is reflected by a quick return mirror in the widthwise direction of a body unit, and is reflected by a second mirror via a half mirror and screen in the upward direction of the body unit except for some light beam components. The light beam reflected by the second mirror is reflected by a third mirror in a direction opposite to that of the light beam reflected by the quick return mirror, and is also reflected by a fourth mirror toward an eyepiece side in the back side of the body unit. Some light beam components reflected by the half mirror are fetched by an AF sensor unit to detect the focal point position of the photographing lens.
Abstract: A wireless communication apparatus which uses fast Fourier transforms (FFTs) in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) receiver which incorporates a beam space antenna array. The beam space antenna array may be implemented with a Butler matrix array. The beam space antenna array may be a circular array, vertical array, or a combination of both circular and vertical arrays, for providing the desired angular antenna coverage. In one embodiment, the antenna array is optimized because the FFTs are linear invariant transform operators, whereby the order of operations in the OFDM receiver can be interchanged.
