  • Patent number: 4104575
Abstract: A constant current source is provided by a circuit of two metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFET) of the enhancement type having opposite conductivities. One transistor constitutes an input transistor. The other transistor is the output transistor. The drain terminals are connected to the respective polarities of an operating voltage source. The gate terminal of the input transistor is connected to a control voltage source. The source terminals are interconnected and grounded through a resistor. The constant current is available at the drain electrode of the output transistor. If it is desired to produce constant output currents of alternating directions, two such circuits may be interconnected in mirror symmetrical fashion.

  • Patent number: 4103416
Abstract: An electrical terminal device comprises a metallic body or support cut through which an iron-chronmium alloy, conductive lead wire extends in an insulated and sealed manner. The free ends of the lead wire or wires extend out of the cup. A glass-to-metal seal is provided between the wires and the cup. The free ends of the lead wires are partially plated or coated with a layer of an oxidation resistant metal. A portion intermediate the free ends is provided with a layer of chromium oxide to improve the seal between the lead wire and a fused glass bead held in an aperture in said support cup. The method of manufacturing such devices comprises partially plating a nickel, copper or other metal which is resistant to oxidation in a hydrogen atmosphere at high temperature and humidity, on the surface of the terminal end portions of the lead wires, while the intermediate portion where the conductor is secured to a glass bead is left free of such a plating.

  • Patent number: 4100844
Abstract: Precision male and female dies with the respective tool for manufacturing folding box blanks, are produced by photographic reproduction processes. The contour and the fold lines of a particular box blank are first drawn as an original on a light transparent film. This original forms a standard blank or standard film which is then used to produce an image of the punching knife location and of the positions of the embossing line projections on the male die. The same original is also used to produce an image of the respective groove configurations in the female die. The punching knives are then inserted into a support plate in accordance with these images. Similarly the grooves and embossing lines are produced in accordance with the respective images.

  • Patent number: 4100507
Abstract: The present method relates to exciting a gas dynamic CO.sub.2 laser, especially at high stagnation temperatures above 2500.degree. K and at a combustion chamber pressure above 50 bar. A liquid fuel and a liquid oxidizer are injected into the combustion chamber at these operating parameters and the produced laser gas is caused to flow through a Laval nozzle into a resonator. The flow cross sectional area of the Laval nozzle adjacent to the resonator is at least 100 times larger than the flow cross sectional area adjacent to the nozzle neck facing the combustion chamber. The flow of the laser gas through this nozzle cools the gas to about 300.degree. K, whereby an inversion state is produced. The laser for performing this type of operation has a combustion chamber connected through the above mentioned nozzle to a resonator which in turn is connected to a diffuser.

  • Patent number: 4098424
Abstract: A transport container especially suitable to be supported on a cart or trolley, and also suitable for use in an aircraft, if desired, is constructed as a parallelepiped. Two oppositely located doors are connected by hinges to a frame structure. The hinges form part of the frame structure and allow the doors to open through an angle of 270.degree.. Corner braces having mutually perpendicular tenons mate with tubular metal stock such as sectional rods to form the frame of the container. The metal rods have U-rails for the mounting of wall, floor, door, and cover plates. A door locking mechanism is located in a hollow chamber of a door member or stile. The locking mechanism includes an interconnection of a sliding bar and two lock bolts. The rotation of a door handle actuates the lock bolts which retract into the stile for opening the door.

  • Patent number: 4090244
Abstract: A method for determining a vector component of an oscillation such as an oscillatory signal comprises applying the measured analog oscillatory signal to the calibration voltage input of a multiplying digital-to-analog (D/A) converter, and simultaneously applying a digital reference signal to the digital input of the digital-to-analog converter. The reference signal includes sine or cosine values of an oscillation suitable for the vector component determination and having a frequency corresponding to the frequency of the oscillatory signal to be determined. The analog output of the D/A converter is then further processed to ascertain the desired vector component. The circuit arrangement for practicing this method comprises a multiplying digital-to-analog converter and a binary counter which sequentially addresses a digital memory used to provide the digital reference signals. The binary counter is controlled by a reference signal generator.
