Abstract: A piggy back shipping/storage package, a bracket for use in building the package, and method for building the package. The bracket has an article attachment lug for being attached to the top of a lower article mounted on a lower pallet, and a pallet supporting platform for supporting the bottom of an upper pallet on which an upper article is supported.

Abstract: Protective pads placed over the palm of the hand to protect the median and ulnar nerves. The pads are placed peripheral to the nerves in order to protect them from pressure and vibration related trauma. An optional rigid splint member may be added to also protect the nerves from repetitive motion/traction irritation. Embodiments may include incorporation of the protective pads into a splint or a glove depending upon the application.

Abstract: A construction tool and method of use for affixing holding cap washers to roofing paper and building wrap tar paper. The tool is a combination of a fastener-driving gun together with a feeding magazine holding a clip of plastic cap washers to be affixed, and the feed magazine feeds successive cap washers under the nose of the fastener-driving gun so that fasteners, such as nails or staples, can penetrate the cap washer and hold down the roofing paper or building wrap tar paper. As the cap approaches the nose of the gun, the cap feeder flips the cap ninety degrees along an axis transverse to the feed direction. A shortened shuttle is used with a spring arm holding one edge of the leading cap in the magazine and the rearward portion of the shuttle holding the other edge of the leading cap.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling the removal of moisture from seed cotton in a cotton gin. The moisture level and rate of seed cotton entering a seed cotton dryer stage of a cotton gin are measured, and, based on those measurements and the desired moisture level of the seed cotton, the seed cotton dryer stage of the cotton gin is controlled to remove a precise amount of moisture from the seed cotton.

Abstract: A segmented piling system and a process of installing the system for supporting a structure on unstable soil. A first or starter pile segment is driven into the soil adjacent the structure. A connecting rod is inserted into the upper end of the starter pile segment. A second or follower pile segment is placed on the upper end of the starter pile segment, over the connecting rod, and driven into the soil, driving the starter pile segment further into the soil. That step is repeated with additional connecting rods and follower pile segments until the pile (i.e., the combination of pile segments and connecting rods) are driven the desired amount into the soil, whereupon the top of the pile is supportingly connected to the structure.

Abstract: A collapsible knee crutch including an upper leg member, a lower leg member, a lower leg pivot pivotally attaching the upper and lower leg members together for allowing the lower leg member to pivot between a bent position and an extended position, a support leg member, and a support leg pivot for pivotally attaching the lower leg member and the support leg member together for allowing the support leg to pivot between a bent position and an extended position. The lower leg pivot has a pivotal axis located forward of the user's natural knee pivotal axis when the crutch is attached to the user's leg. The support leg member has elongated, spaced apart inside and outside support legs with the outside support leg being longer than the inside support leg.

Abstract: A resaw apparatus and method of sawing a succession of boards from a cant of a succession of cants. A band saw is vertically positioned to cut the succession of boards from the cant as the cant is reciprocated through the saw. A pivoted raker gate downstream of the band saw's blade engages the cut board and prevents it from passing through the saw in the reverse direction. A vertically movable live hold-down roller upstream of the saw blade presses down on the cant during sawing. A measuring device measures the cant's height prior to sawing the first board from the cant. When the raker gate moves into its vertical position after the cut board passes, the saw blade is raised slightly to avoid contact with cant splinters on the reverse pass. Each cant is processed to completion before sawing the next cant.

Abstract: A floatation device for an all-terrain vehicle or the like. The floatation device includes a float having a bow float, and includes mounting structure for mounting the float to the frame of the vehicle. The bow float may be U-shaped, and the float may include a stern float, or tailgate, to extend across and close the open end of the U-shaped bow float so that vehicle is encircled by the float.

Abstract: A duck shooting resort layout having a body of water, a peripheral embankment encircling the water, a duck hunting region within the resort, and duck hunting blinds within the hunting region from which hunters may shoot ducks. A method of training ducks to fly only within the hunting region is described. Multiple embodiments, with islands, piers, or embankment fingers, are described that safely allow a high density of hunters within a given land area. The resort terrain may be sculpted into the invention's structure at a minimum of cost and movement of dirt. The water depth may increase toward the channel ends for harvesting fish by partial draining, and grading screens may be provided at the ends for harvesting fish. A method of using sound for attracting and grading fish in a commercial fish farming operation, with grading screens used during harvesting of fish.

Abstract: A Neighborhood Housing Arrangement with a perimeter road to encircle the neighborhood; blocks of residence buildings to have a substantially U-shaped configuration; blocks of residence placed so as to back up to adjoin the perimeter road with the opening of their U-shape facing inward away from the perimeter road; a plurality of residence buildings designed for elderly residents; every residence to enfront a semi-private space such as front porch, deck, balcony, yard, or garden; one block containing the neighborhood center with neighborhood park and a wholesome hangout or gathering building; the undeveloped land to remains in fields; and residence and other buildings to have vehicle access from the rear by either the perimeter road or smaller back streets so residence buildings face a neighborhood interior consisting of parks, fields, sidewalks, and other pedestrian and neighborhood amenities.

The worktable includes a support frame having a top frame portion and a bottom frame portion for resting on a support surface with the bottom portion of the bandsaw body fixedly attached to the bottom frame portion; a tabletop having a slot therein with the bandsaw blade extending therethrough; a plurality of support wheels mounted on the top frame portion of the support frame and rollably supporting the tabletop for allowing the tabletop to roll between a first position and a second position; and guide structure for guiding the tabletop as the tabletop is rolled between the first and second positions.

Abstract: A pad-mounted transformer enclosure may have a wiring compartment utilizing multiple hinge points on each side panel with an additional set of hinges located at the back of the compartment area to allow the doors to be opened as normal or to allow the sides to be also opened, allowing the wiring compartment to be totally exposed on all three sides. The tank of the transformer enclosure may have a cover secured in a manner that allows the cover to be removed with simple hand tools while preventing unauthorized removal thereof, that increases tank top structural rigidity, and that does not trap water on the tank cover.
