  • Patent number: 6594943
Abstract: A fishing line twist removal apparatus for removing accumulated twist from a fishing line while a fishing lure is secured to the fishing line. The lure is placed into a container body having a cavity, and a slitted cap entraps the lure into the container with the fishing line extending through the slit. A plurality of blades extending outward from the container body cause the apparatus to rotate as it is pulled through water. The blades may angle for clockwise or counterclockwise rotation. A blunt nose on the apparatus allows it to skip or skim the surface of the water for reduced rotation, thereby avoiding excessive twist removal and reverse direction overtwist.

  • Patent number: 6582836
Abstract: A calcium salt protective coating formed in situ by combining fatty acids with lime, also the associated method of forming the protective coating in situ. The fatty acids are preferably vegetable fatty acids such as from soapstock byproduct skimmings produced during the manufacture of vegetable oil. Experimental testing has shown that the protective coating is substantially impervious to moisture. The protective coating is a suitable covering for hay bales, silage, coal piles, and road salt piles. Further experimental testing has shown that the present invention is also suited to environmental soil bioremediation (“landfarming”) using microbes, in which the fatty acid ingredient, in addition to being used in formation of a protective coating that inhibits introduction of oxygen into the soil being treated, is also used as a carbon source for the microbial activity.

  • Patent number: 6532902
Abstract: A duck shooting resort layout having a body of water, a peripheral embankment encircling the water, a duck hunting region within the resort, and duck hunting blinds within the hunting region from which hunters may shoot ducks. The resort includes trained ducks taught to fly only within the hunting region. Multiple embodiments, with islands, piers, or embankment fingers, are described that safely allow a high density of hunters within a given land area. A method of training ducks to fly only within the hunting region is described. A construction method for the resort layout is described that allows a terrain to be sculpted into the structure of the invention at a minimum of cost and movement of dirt. The water depth may increase toward the channel ends for harvesting fish by partial draining, and fish grading screens may be provided at the ends for harvesting fish.

  • Patent number: 6513780
Abstract: Picture or Plaque Hanging Aid comprising: a length of stretchable elastic band, a rigid hook fixedly attached to each end of said band, and a bead frictionally mounted to said elastic band so that said bead can be slid to any portion of said band and remain in place when released. A preferred embodiment includes wherein a plurality of beads are frictionally mounted to said elastic band for marking a plurality of anchor placing locations. The user hooks the elastic band to the back of the plaque or picture, slides the ball to the anchor fastening location, places a transferrable mark on the bead with an ink pen so that when the picture or plaque is placed in the desired location on a wall, the mark is transferred to the wall thereby indicating the spot where a picture or plaque hanging anchor is to be fastened to the wall.
