  • Patent number: 4795519
Abstract: A conveying device for testing and reprocessing objects (25) processed by a processing station (27), especially labelled objects (25), as for example ampoules, containers or syringes. A conveyor device conveys objects (25) to be processed in a continual, uniform motion through the processing station (27). The objects (25) are held therein in pickups (23). A feeding device (33) leads the objects individually toward the conveying device (21). A checking station (31) examines the processing result. A control stops, in case of determining an insufficiently processed, for example not labelled objects (25b), the feeding device (33) and gradually brakes the conveying device (21). The control then reverses the direction of movement of the conveying device (21) until the insufficiently processed object (21b) has reached again the processing station (27).

  • Patent number: 4796180
Abstract: A method of monitoring the delivery of mail pieces by the postal service utilizes a data processor. A batch mailing includes selected mailing pieces to be monitored with each selected mailing piece being identified with a multi-digit number uniquely identifying a respondent therefor and the mailing piece. When the mailing piece is received the respondent telephonically reports the identifying number, date of receipt and condition of the mailing piece to the data processor. This information is stored by the data processor and is used to generate daily and batch reports showing, for example, date of receipt according to geographic location and/or pre-sort level of the mail pieces.

  • Patent number: 4792106
Abstract: The invention comprehends an improvement in a spinning style fishing reel of the type having a line-carrying spool, a rotor housing, a crank handle for rotating the rotor housing about an axis, a bail carried on a bail arm, and structure mounting the bail arm for movement relative to the rotor housing selectively between a cast position, wherein line can be paid out of the spool, and a retrieve position, wherein line can be directed onto the spool as the rotor housing is operated by the crank handle. The improvement resides in structure for driving the bail arm into each of the cast and retrieve positions and for keeping the bail arm so positioned. The structure that accomplishes this end according to the invention consists of cooperating structures on the bail arm and rotor housing that are mutually attractive approaching and in each of the cast and retrieve positions.

  • Patent number: 4792679
Abstract: A light source throws a light beam through a transparent scale provided with graduation lines. The light beam is focussed by means of an aperture in such a way that it is disposed at an inclined angle with respect to the graduation lines. Upon relative displacement as between the scale and the aperture, that arrangement provides that a constantly changing light beam is projected onto a photosensitive receiving means. Depending on the respective position and configuration of the light beam on the receiving means, it is possible to arrive at the relative position of the scale within a travel increment.
