  • Patent number: 4828071
Abstract: A self-propelled implement carrier is provided with a main frame defining a longitudinal axis. A power plant is mounted on the main frame at one side of the longitudinal axis, thereby leaving a space for carrying an implement at a location which is coincident with the longitudinal axis. Spaced driven wheels are journalled on a drive axle projecting from the power plant across the longitudinal axis. Spaced steering wheels are journalled on a steering axle longitudinally spaced from the drive axle and projecting from the drive means across the longitudinal axis. An operator's cab is supported on the main frame generally on the longitudinal axis, laterally offset from the power plant.

  • Patent number: 4825899
Abstract: A fluid monitoring and control system for use with such electromechanical apparatus as integrated drive generators, or the like, which include a casing and a rotatable shaft extending into the casing. A rotatable chamber is connected to the shaft for rotation thereby and for converting the volume of liquid in the chamber into a centrifugal liquid pressure head in response to rotation of the chamber. A pump scavenges liquid from the casing and delivers the scavenged liquid to the rotatable chamber. An accumulator is hydraulically coupled to the rotatable chamber for receiving liquid therefrom when the liquid level reaches a predetermined maximum level. the accumulator supplies liquid therefrom to the casing, through the rotatable chamber, when the liquid level reaches a predetermined minimum level.

  • Patent number: 4825650
Abstract: A hot gas generator system which includes a combustor and a condenser, with the combustor connected to the condenser for condensing the product of combustion from the combustor. A hydrogen supply is connected to the condenser and then to the combustor whereby the hydrogen absorbs heat from the combustion product as it condenses and the hydrogen thereby is preheated prior to entering the combustor. An oxygen supply is connected to the combustor for mixing with the hydrogen during combustion. The combustor is part of an integrated heat exchanger/combustor whereby a minor portion of the hydrogen passing through the condenser is used in the combustor for burning purposes and a major portion of the hydrogen is passed through the combustor for superheating the hydrogen prior to delivering the hydrogen to a prime mover, such as a thruster or a turbogenerator of a space platform or the like.

  • Patent number: 4825758
Abstract: A coffee and/or tea disperser having a cold water reservoir connected to a water heater which is connected in turn to a spray head. Below the head is a container for a bed of coffee grains or tea leaves and below which again is a tank for the infused beverage. Cups of freshly infused coffee or tea can be metered from the tank by a dispensing valve. In order to ensure that the amount of coffee dispensed does not vary by any significant amount as the head of liquid in the tank varies, the tank is disposed above the surface on which the cup rests by a distance, measured from the maximum head of liquid in the tank to said datum, which is at least six times the maximum displacement of liquid in the tank. Moreover the tank is wide and low. The tank is preferably dismountable for easy cleaning and level probes normally protruding into the tank are arranged to be swung out of the tank to assist dismounting.

  • Patent number: 4817947
Abstract: A method of playing a bowling game in which players are allowed at least one ball to knock down pins in each of a plurality of frames. A handicap is determined for each player of the game. A handicap pin setup is selected for each player for each frame commensurate with the respective player's handicap. Each player is required to deliver at least one ball in each frame. The number of pins knocked down by each player in each frame is counted to determine a score for each player for each frame. Each player's frame score is recorded as determined by the counting, and each player's frame scores are added to determine the player's total score for the game. The players' game scores are compared to determine the winner of the game.
