  • Patent number: 4817834
Abstract: A bumper mounted spare wheel carrier for a vehicle having a rear door is provided with a latching mechanism for latching the carrier to the rear door of the vehicle so as to secure it during movement. The carrier has a first mounting bracket secured to the rear bumper and a second mounting bracket secured to the rear door of the vehicle. A carrier arm is mounted on the first mounting bracket and is adapted for pivotal movement between a first position latched to the second mounting bracket and a second position extending substantially laterally from the vehicle. A wheel bracket is attached to the carrier arm for holding the wheel. The latching mechanism, also mounted on the carrier arm, is adapted for engagement with the second mounting bracket. As a result, a low cost easy to install bumper mounted wheel carrier is provided which is firmly attached to the vehicle, yet can be easily swung away from the vehicle for removal of the spare wheel or for opening of the rear door.

  • Patent number: 4815289
Abstract: A variable pressure control for controlling displacement of a variable displacement over-center pump utilizes a pair of remotely variable pressure limiter three-way valves which are associated one with each of a pair of servo cylinders operably connected to a swash plate of the pump and acting in opposition for positioning of the swash plate. The pressure limiter valves each control the communication of a servo cylinder with either system pressure or drain and are remotely operable to set a displacement of the pump and limit the pressure of the fluid delivered by the pump. This structure enables setting of pump displacement without the use of a displacement control valve associated with the servo cylinders.

  • Patent number: 4813681
Abstract: A game including a plurality of playing markers adapted to be arranged in rows and columns. The playing markers include four playing markers having a first indicia thereon, four playing markers having a second indicia thereon, and a single playing marker having both a first and a second indicia thereon. The playing markers are adapted for random distribution in equal numbers to a pair of players with the remaining one of the playing markers defining a starting point, and one of the players selects one of the first and second indicia with the other of the players having the other of the first and second indicia. The one of the players thereafter places one of the playing markers in non-diagonal adjacent relation to the playing marker defining the starting point after which the other of the players places one of the playing markers in non-diagonal adjacent relation to a previously placed playing marker with the playing markers being placed in turn by the players in like fashion to form the rows and columns.

  • Patent number: 4813673
Abstract: To reduce the distribution time of bowling pins being fed horizontally along transport paths, first and central transport systems (41, 42) are located in a median portion of an elongated frame, with first and second connecting transport systems (43, 47), diverging from the central transport system, transport the bowling pins to peripheral transport systems (68, 69) located parallel and on either side of the first and second central transport systems. Bowling pins are distributed, alternately, to the first and second central transport system to be transported past pin receiving pockets to receive pins, provided the pockets are empty. The distribution apparatus is simple and formed witha Y-shaped distribution rocker to alternately cover or free pin supply chutes (5, 6) in alignment with the first and second transport systems, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4813849
Abstract: A screw-type fluid pump is provided with an elongate casing having a surface defining an internal fluid flow space and a screw within the flow path, fixed to the casing, and having a plurality of flights for continuously conveying fluid from an inlet on the casing to an outlet for appropriate disposition as the screw and casing are rotated. A conduit/torque tube extends through the screw in axially overlapping relationship with the casing over no more than one third the axial extent of the screw at the upper region of the casing. The conduit/torque tube establishes communication between a plurality of pockets between screw turns and the atmosphere to effect pressure equalization so that cavitation in the fluid flow space is prevented as the screw is operated. The conduit/torque tube also transmits the force from a rotary drive to the screw.
