  • Patent number: 6581380
Abstract: A master cylinder formed of a forward plastic part snapingly secured to a rearward plastic part. The forward part has a tapered draft angle bore and the rearward part has a purely cylindrical bore aligned with the draft angle bore of the front part and conforming to the diameter of the piston of the cylinder. An annular groove is defined by the parts in surrounding relation to the aligned bores and an annular bearing, having a true cylindrical inner surface corresponding to the diameter of the piston, is positioned in the groove to guide the front end of the piston as the piston moves forwardly into the tapered bore of the forward part.

  • Patent number: 6583591
Abstract: The present invention provides a circuit for operating a plurality of bi-directional motors, each motor having a pair of terminals disposed across the motor. The circuit includes a common half bridge for providing one of power and ground to one of the pair of terminals across each motor. A plurality of particular or individual half bridges, one particular half bridge for each motor, provide the other of power and ground to the other of the pair of terminals across each motor. A controller selectively controls the common half bridge and the particular half bridges to supply power in either direction across the pair of terminals of one or more of the motors. In a preferred embodiment, the controller selectively controls the common half bridge and the particular half bridges to independently pulse width modulate power in either direction across the pair of terminals of one or more of the plurality of motors.

  • Patent number: 6581630
Abstract: A pressure control valve automatically controllable of a set value of a pressure circuit by pilot operation without using an electrical signal, is provided. A pressure control valve include a valve body (30) opposing to a seat surface of a relief port (A) connected to a pressure circuit (46) and a spring (32) biasing the valve body (30) onto the seat surface, for flowing out a part of the fluid within the pressure circuit (46) to hold the fluid pressure in the pressure circuit (46) at a predetermined set pressure when the fluid pressure in the pressure circuit (46) is higher than or equal to the set pressure. A pilot piston (40) is arranged movably in expansion and contraction direction of the spring (32) at an end portion of the spring (32) remote from the valve body (30), the pilot piston (40) moves in a direction for compressing the spring (32) when a predetermined pressure of a pilot fluid is input.

  • Patent number: 6577959
Abstract: A fluid level measuring system for machines which utilizes fluids and has rotating and/or reciprocating elements. The system receives data from sensors as to the measured fluid level and measured fluid temperature. Optionally, data is received from other sensors such as to the angle of inclination of the machine, gear setting (for a transmission), idle speed (for an engine or transmission), and dielectric constant of the fluid. The measured data is stored in a first data storage device. A second data storage device contains data as to the recommended fluid level and acceptable deviations thereof based upon a variety of possible sensor readings, which can be obtained from sources such as the manufacturer of the machine or by controlled dynamic measurements. A processor compares the stored sensor readings to the data stored in the second memory to arrive at the operational fluid level. The processor controls a display to identify the operational fluid level to the operator.

  • Patent number: 6569320
Abstract: A fuel collection and rehabilitation device for use in connection with diesel engines, the diesel engine having a fuel filter having an interior volume for containing fuel therein. The fuel collection and rehabilitation device having conduits for releasable fluid communication with the interior volume. A pumping device selectively moves the fuel from the fuel filter to a collection receptacle and then through a filtration device. The fuel then can be selectively routed back to the fuel filter connected to the diesel engine.

  • Patent number: 6565074
Abstract: A rotary clamp having an adjustable pre-stop wherein the rotary clamp includes a linear actuator for transmitting linear motion to a linkage assembly. The linkage assembly converts the linear motion into rotary motion of a clamp arm, wherein the clamp arm moves between a clamped position and an unclamped position. The adjustable pre-stop provides a substantially cylindrical member having a substantially polygonal shaped surface formed on the cylindrical member. The polygonal surface matingly engages a substantially polygonal shaped aperture formed in the housing of the rotary clamp. An eccentric mid-portion of the cylindrical member engages the linkage assembly in the clamped position to prohibit the clamp arm from rotating beyond the clamped position.

  • Patent number: 6564924
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for positioning randomly oriented, asymmetrically-shaped articles in the same orientation, the apparatus comprising at least first and second oppositely arranged conduits dimensioned to receive the articles therein. Each conduit has an inlet end, and the inlet ends of the at least first and second conduits are spaced-apart to define an opening therebetween for receiving therein, one at a time, a plurality of asymmetrically-shaped articles that are randomly oriented in at least first and second orientations. Suction is created in both of the conduits, the suction being sufficient to selectively draw articles oriented in the first orientation from the opening into the inlet end of the at least first conduit, and sufficient to draw articles oriented in the second orientation from the opening into the inlet end of the at least second conduit, such that articles in the at least first and second conduits are all identically oriented relative to a path of travel through the conduits.
