  • Patent number: 6623017
Abstract: A skate that includes a boot fixed between an insole and an outsole. The insole has a pair of retainers projecting through apertures in the outsole for receiving one end of a pair of legs projecting from a blade runner. The retainers extend through interior chambers formed in a blade holder, with the interior chambers slidably receiving the blade legs. A fastening pin is extendable through the aligned bores in the holder, the blade legs and the retainers to fixedly connect the blade, the holder and the insole. Various aspects of the outsole and holder are formed with mating projections and recesses to resist lateral movement of the holder relative to the outsole and the boot.

  • Patent number: 6616133
Abstract: A linear actuator having an adjustable piston rod for transmitting linear motion to a rotary clamp wherein the adjustable length of the piston rod corresponds to predetermined rotational angles of a clamp arm. The adjustable piston rod provides a first portion connectable to said power clamp, and a second portion connectable to a piston of the linear actuator. The first portion is fabricated from a substantially cylindrical rod having a plurality of substantially cylindrical recesses formed thereon. The second portion provides a block connected to a tubular shaft for telescopically receiving the cylindrical rod. A cam is pivotally connected to the block and provides an aperture formed therein for receiving the cylindrical rod. A torsional spring biases the cam against the cylindrical rod within the cylindrical recesses formed in the rod to prohibit the rod from telescopically moving relative to the tubular shaft.

  • Patent number: 6615969
Abstract: A mechanical coin checker is proposed having a coin channel which has a running rail for the coin to run down, in or at which channel checking arrangements are provided to check the properties of the coins, having a coin acceptance shaft and a return shaft, disposed below the running rail, to return coins which are not accepted. The running rail has in the running direction of the coin a recess into which coins which are too thin slide and possibly fall into the return shaft. In front of the coin acceptance shaft is disposed a detent pawl, which is rotatably mounted at a flap forming a part of the coin channel. A detent wire, which is pivotable about a portion of its longitudinal axis, co-operates with its one end region with the detent pawl and is disposed with its other end region below the recess, in such a way that when a coin slips through the recess, the detent wire pivots and takes the detent pawl with it into the coin channel to engage at least one integrally formed arm.

  • Patent number: 6609597
Abstract: A dampening apparatus for dampening an actuating member over a wide array of temperatures. The present invention provides a fluid filled housing having a first chamber, a second chamber, and a passageway therebetween. A first piston is slidably received within the first chamber for movement from a pre-actuated position to an actuated position. A second piston is slidably received within said second chamber for movement from said pre-actuated position to said actuated position. A spring disposed within the second chamber biases the second piston toward said passageway and maintains a constant level of fluid pressure within the housing regardless of the temperatures of the fluid. An exhaust port is in communication with the second chamber wherein the second piston is disposed between the passageway and the exhaust port in the pre-actuated position, and wherein the exhaust port is located between the passageway and the second piston in the actuated position to allow the fluid to escape through the exhaust port.
